Tapestry Hearts has much larger images and we are going to use it to quickly decorate the card jacket and then use the Dotted Heart Border for the focal point.

 

  Stamp Tapestry Hearts in Sage ink and then smudge the edges of the cardstock with Sage as well.

Using Narcissus ink, smudge a rectangular shape on inside of 2.75 square card stock

Use Clear Gellyroll stardust pen to draw around edges using a piece of card stock as guide

Stamp bird with letter in Dye Black and cut out with small scissors.  Put pop dot on back and center on stamped 2.75 square card stock.

Stamp Dear Friend in Dye Black ink and then stamp leaves in Sage, Sprig in Sage and Burgundy and then stamp flower in Split Pea

Using a straight edge, line up over words to center and mark a cutting line.  Cut out in a rectangular shape and use a red marker to lightly drag along edge to give a little color.  Apply pop dots on back.

Using embossing folder of your choice, emboss lower part of card.  Assemble with die cut scalloped square (Spellbinders), add ribbon and you are all done!

Smudge Narcissus ink around outside edge of oval shape on a 4.5 x 4.5 piece of white card stock.
Stamp bird in dye black ink at the north, south, east and west points.

Stamp greenery in Green Tea.
Stamp berries in Cardinal.
Using die cutter, center scalloped oval over stamped area and cut.
Smudge scalloped edges in Hyacinth and then in Neptune.

Stamp bird in Black dye ink on white card stock.
Center small shapes positioning template (long heart) over bird and then smudge edges in Split Pea.
Stamp berry around edges of heart in Split Pea.
Dot around edges with fine, gold paint pen and cut out with small scissors.
Center heart on scalloped centerpiece with pop dot.

Dry emboss navy and gold card stock with design of your choice.
Dot around edges of gold card stock.
Glue front of card together and tie ribbon around it.
Glue to front of card jacket.

Stamp large flower in Burgundy, turn the stamp one half turn and stamp again (without re-inking) on top of the previous image for a lighter shade of color.

Stamp cluster of flowers and leaves and one single small flower.  Cut out with small scissors and apply with pop dots to card.

Glue all together,add ribbon and assemble.

Center and glue onto black card stock.  Dot around edges with fine tipped gold pen.

Add Crystal Stickles to berries.

Stamp happy holidays in dye black ink.  Center with small shapes positioning template.  Smudge with Sage ink.

Stamp sprig in Sage around sentiment.

Cut out with small scissors, leaving a touch of white on edges.

Glue onto red card stock then cut out leaving a thin edge.

Stamp sprig in Evergreen and then stamp a few more in Black.

Assemble with ribbon, pop dots and embellishments of your choice.

Also, while I was working this set it made me think about botanical wrapping paper for the holidays.  So, here is what it looks like on a plain paper roll (Melissa and Doug's) which is very inexpensive.  I got mine on Amazon and used my Prime account to get free shipping so it only cost under $7.00 for a 75 foot roll of paper.  Now I can decorate paper as needed for any occasion :)

Back to the paper.  In the photo below, you can see that I used the same colors that I used for the card.

Now you can see the detail of the wrapped package.

We are having loads of fun here at Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamping on ceramic bisque using the concentric circles, concentric squares and the centering template.  Here is one of our latest projects using several stamp sets along with Duncan Concepts under-glazes (any brand of under-glaze will work).

We used a variety of the darker colors in the Duncan Concepts line.  A few are:  Dark Ivy, Black, Really Red with Sprinkles, Dark Ginger, Dark Briarwood, Dark Tidepool, Dark Olive and Dark Grape.  What fun!

Stamps - Spookytown stamp set

Inks –
Versacolor Topaz, Paprika, Umber
Archival Black

Papers –
White quarter-sheet (4.25 x 5.5 inches)
Card stock half-sheet, folded (your choice of color) – for card base
White card stock scraps

Tools and Embellishments –
RST Concentric Circles and Concentric Squares positioning templates (NEW!)
Ribbon
Glitter pen – I used a Gelly Roll Stardust pen

The Concentric Circles positioning template is 4-1/2 inches in diameter
and the Concentric Squares template is 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches wide (the largest square).

Instructions –
Side note on the Concentric positioning templates:
We have two new concentric positioning templates, a circle set and a squares set. We designed these templates to use on almost anything. They each come with 4 concentric shapes all attached by a small tab.

Simply snip the little tab with a pair of scissors and you have four circles to use in various ways.You will notice that there is a small round hole in the smallest piece. This is for centering the shape on your work. These are great for marking fabric quilt squares, ceramic bisque pottery, and anything else you wish to stamp on! They differ from our other positioning templates in that they come apart and they offer many blending edges instead of just one.

Now, back to the project...
For this project you will use the center round piece and its next-largest neighbor.

 Colorize the card front.

1. Take the White quarter sheet, the smallest piece of the positioning template, a blending tool, and some Umber ink. Use the foam to smudge some ink around the template.

2. When the ink has dried, line the next-largest circle around the area you just blended. Then use Topaz ink and smudge the outside of the circle.

3. Next, use the outer corners of the Square templates (or the corner of any of our positioning templates that you might already have) and line it up to about ½ inch from the edge of the card front. Smudge with Paprika ink.

4. Then use the Pinecone ink pad to smudge the outer edges of the panel.

Now it's time to stamp.

1. Take the Skull stamp and Archival Black ink and stamp a border, using the Paprika ink as a guide.

2. Then take the Ghost stamp and Umber ink and stamp inside the Skull border.

3. Then take the Spider and stamp just a portion of the image outside the Skull border, along the outer edge of the panel, for added texture.
   
   
4. Stamp a border around the centerpiece: Use the Spiderweb stamp and Pinecone ink and stamp between the Umber and Paprika blended areas.

5. Then stamp the Spider in the center of the card with Archival Black ink. Use the glitter pen to draw a string of web from the Spider to the Spiderweb.

Note: for added dimension, I used the inner circle from the template blended with Umber ink (as we did earlier) and then I cut the circle out, leaving just a pinstripe of Umber ink. I stamped the Spider, added its string of web, and some black dots around the circle, made with a black pen. Then I attached it to the card with some PopIt! foam tape.

Now let's finish up...

1. Stamp the Bat in various positions around the centerpiece.

2. Add your ribbon.

3. (Optional), make a tag with something spooky on it. In this sample, I just used a black pen and a scrap of paper to scribble “spooky town” for a handwritten medallion.

The last step is to glue the quarter-sheet to the card base and then you're done!

Before you leave, take a look at the same stamp set, used on a ceramic tile. I just used black under glaze --to make it extra spooky... and of course I used the new positioning templates to lay out my design. I simply marked the center of the square with a pencil and then drew out the other squares and circles. My pencil marks disappeared when the piece was fired. Of course you can erase your own guide marks if you're working with paper.

First, if using the stamps for bisque, trim the outer edge of the stamp with small scissors to keep from shadowing.  You will be "rocking and or rolling" the stamp slightly and sometimes this will cause shadowing, so trimming the round rubber edge is very helpful.  The great thing about bisque is that you can wipe or scrape off imperfections and start again if necessary.

The photo above is a teacup and small bowl that I decorated with the Sweet Everlastings set. 

You can see in the photo above that I also decorated the inside base of the teacup.  Normally this area would be impossible to decorate but with our peg stamps, it is easy :)

Ink cups with foam are used to ink up the stamp.  Wash the ends of the stamps with mild detergent (like Joy dishwasing liquid and water) and dry to remove an oily residue that may keep the underglaze from adhering to the rubber before beginning your project.

Normally, I start with about one teaspoon of underglaze and add it to the ink cup and foam.  Shake the underglaze well, add it to the foam, and then blend it in with a small spatula or tool until it is absorbed into the foam.  Ink up the stamp on the foam and test on a piece of paper.  If it is too thin, add more underglaze and if it is too wet to see a clear image, use another piece of foam to absorb some of the extra moisture.  Test again until the right consistency is obtained.

After stamping your design and allowing it to dry, use a mop brush or similar brush to apply a clear glaze.

Pure Brilliance is a wonderful clear glaze that fires to cone 06  (1828 degrees F)

Stay tuned for more indepth instructions on how to stamp on ceramic bisque.  If you do not own a kiln, take our stamps and ink cups to your local Paint your own Pottery or CCSA studio and choose your bisque, decorate it and let them glaze and fire it for you!  All of the CCSA Studios should have Duncan Concept, Amaco, Gare or a comparable underglaze that will work.  Isn't this exciting?  I can't wait to make a complete dinnerware set for myself :)

Stamps - Farmyard Animals stamp set

Papers -
White card stock - 4.5 x 5.5 inches
Yellow card stock - 4.3.5 x 5 inches
White card stock scrap

Versacolor Topaz, Bark, Paprika, Pinecone, Evergreen, Bamboo, Canary, and Split Pea

Tools and Embellishments -
RST positioning template - Arches
Embossing folder of your choice
Yellow marker

Instructions -
Use scissors to cut the edges of the pre-measured White paper in a wavy fashion. Then run this paper through the embossing folder. Fold. Set aside for now.

Take the Yellow card stock piece and, using the Sun stamp and Split Pea ink, stamp a random pattern. Glue this piece to the card base and then attach the ribbon. Set aside for now.

Take the White scrap and stamp the following:
Stamp the Hen in Topaz ink. Stamp the Hen again, this time in Pinecone and Evergreen (stamp one half of the Hen in Pinecone and, before stamping, ink the other half with Evergreen ink).
Stamp the Chicks in Paprika ink.
Stamp the Piglet in Bark ink.
Stamp the Grass in Evergreen ink. Stamp the Grass again, this time in Bamboo ink. Then dot with the colored marker to make pretend flowers in the grass.

When the ink has dried, line up the stamped scene in the largest Arch on the positioning template and, using Canary ink and a piece of blending foam, make a silhouette. Trim the arch shape out with scissors and use double-sided foam tape to attach the arch to the card base.

Garnish with another piece of Ribbon.
