Ok, so roughly two weeks ago (9/22) I placed an order at Newegg for some parts to build a low power server, basically a nettop in a bigger case. The parts and the case shipped separately, one was due to arrive on the 24th and the other the 27th.

The 24th comes and goes without any visits from UPS. So I visit the UPS package tracking site to find that they have damaged my stuff (or so they say, I never actually got it to find out) and are sending it back. That ends up taking a whole week, since its going to CA. It got there on 10/1, a Friday. Which means it took Newegg till today to issue an RMA. Since it’s for a refund, and my bank is slow…it will probably be NEXT FREAKIN week before I see the refund. Not to mention 3 more days when I finally do get my money back to try again.

So this project to build a nettop/server which should’ve only taken the 3 days normally required to ship stuff between NJ and NC, has been drawn out in to a really annoying nearly month long process.

Moral of the story is: UPS can’t be trusted to properly ship stuff.

Anyway I think this will mostly be the same as it was before, but I’ll actually try my hand at writing things by hand Yea I know kind of pointless not to, but hey it was 2005, I knew no better.

Also i’ve got a few interesting (to me only I guess) projects in the works that I may or may not be talking about here I think I’ll save those for the next post if I do decide to talk about them.
