The Threadless book that will be published on October 10th has a very long name: Threadless: Ten Years of T-shirts from the World’s Most Inspiring Online Design Community. Only 224 page thought. Although who says the length of the book title has to correlate with the number of pages. Anyway, the book looks like it will be nice and glossy with lots of images and articles and thoughts from the various Threadless contributors over the year.

I think it will be interesting. In fact I have already pre-ordered a copy. There is a discount if you preorder it from various online book stores. I ordered from the Book Depository because it has free shipping even to Japan, where I live.

Yes, I am still watching Jake and Amir. I considered stopping for a while. It would have been a case of unsuscribing but I didn’t. It’s like one of those TV shows that you watch because you used to enjoy it. Anyway, another cool t-shirt to add to the Jake and Amir series at Busted Tees.

I haven’t mentioned Design by Humans for a while yet but then again I haven’t been very active here. Just don’t have so much time and a lot of it has been spent away from the PC so it has been difficult to update the T-Shirt Review. Whether you agree with what he has done or not you have to admit that it was a ballsy move and not a bad way to get your 15 minutes. I’ve heard conflicting stories about what actually happened and I have pretty much lost interest but I do think it deserved a t-shirt and this is not a bad one. Go Steven Slater!

T-Post have been mentioned a couple of times on this blog. In fact, I think that they were even kind enough to send me a t-shirt one time. They are a t-shirt store with a difference. They say they are a magazine in a shirt but I won’t get into that again and you buy the tees on subscription.

One of the cool things about T-Post is that the magazine articles often discuss politically relevant contemporary issues so you can appear smart while also looking smart in your cool new t-shirt. I’m telling you about this particular t-shirt because of the story so it is also a pretty cool marketing strategy on their behalf.

What is probably the worlds biggest t-shirt design contest has yet again been launched by Uniqlo’s UT. The Grand prize is $10,000 which is pretty sweet for one winner. The contest is open to everyone regardless or nationality, age or whatever.

This time it is a themed contest which is a bit weird but that’s OK. I’m sure Uniqlo makes a lot of profit from their affiliation with Disney already and this will only feed the cash cow. Seems like it is quite unnecessary though.

Applications close September 19, 2010.

Apart from the last blast about the $10 Threadless sale, it’s close to a month since the last post so I guess a few of you were thinking WTF, is the T-Shirt Review dead or what. The short answer: no. Been busy, went to Ireland and the UK for a couple of weeks and work has been busy. I have also been working on a new site for t-shirt lovers about which I have alluded to in the past. It’s progressing. I am adding content and building it at the same time. Need to add a few more functions as well as finish designing the home page.

Anyway, while I was away I nearly missed this awesome DC Comics t-shirt release at Zazzle. These are not to be confused with the regular DTG tees at Zazzle either. These five t-shirts are limited edition screen-printed tees available through Zazzle’s LABz project. I thought I had missed all but the last one but they are still available separately or as a bundle where you can save a few dollars or spend a few extra depending on how you look at it.

If you like DC Comics you will probably like these, they have maintained the style and feel of the comic books and if these tees are like the other LABz t-shirts the quality of the print and the shirt in general will be awesome. They are $26.95 each or $110.95 for all five. Remember though, they are limited editions so don’t wait around if you are interested as they may disappear from the Zazzle site soon.

Threadless last night released 4 new t-shirts by renowned comic book artists. To be honest I don’t read comics. I don’t have anything against them apart from the price but I am from Ireland which is not really a comic book culture so I didn’t really grow up reading them like many people in the US or Japan did/do. That said, I do like comic book art. Comic books are for storytelling so the art work has to convey some of the message and for that reason can be very powerful in its expressiveness. Anyways you can buy the 4 tees separately for $20 each or as a bundle for $70. Depending on how often Threadless reprints these bad boys I wouldn’t be surprised if they became collectors items.
This is my favorite one, although I am sure I am not young enough to wear it. All the t-shirts have a back-print as well so be sure to check them out close up at Threadless.
