Curious what everyone here is willing to buy or own in the way of handguns or even carbines. I Mean, do you only buy the popular models, or do you what you are looking for gun - regardless of popularity or make?

It’s probably been covered here before, but was changing my grips on my Springfield RO Elite back to the thin grips it originally came with. Of course the bushing got buggered with the screwdriver, yes a decent gunsmithing set, and a little heat. I have a 30 acre with pond weekend get away property we call the Ridge. We were up there a couple of weeks ago and I noticed the spillway was clogged with packed mud and weeds and the 4-5 acre pond was up about 6 inches and was over flowing at the other end of the dam. YES! about 310yds would be the unofficial estimate. Sighting in the RUGER 6.5 Creedmoor & using (good)hunting quality components will not net me perfection, BUT it is doing pretty darn good!

I picked up a Ruger Wrangler not long ago when ordering my S&W 22x and at $140 with no increase to shipping or FFL transfer it was a clear case of “why not?”

I found a set of laminate Altamont grips on Gunbroker from the Altamont outlet (worth checking out) for $10. Then got me some 22 CBs to test for teaching my kids with.

I was a little worried about how the POI vs POA might be impacted with a round that travels so slowly, but the sights were dead on...

I have a match champion 357 I have had to send back to ruger twice in seven years for repairs. I know any gun can break but I have been shooting guns for 50 years and never had to send a gun back for a repair. First time when it was brand new and 2nd time just recently. This isn’t the first ruger I have own. Has Ruger quality decline?

Mine is from ca. the 14th to 16th century, covering the Yuan to Ming Dynasties of China.

The back story is that it came back from Vietnam to the U.S. with a G.I. from Madison, ME. around 1970.

It's an eight shot repeater, called a Handgonne, or hand cannon. It's ignition source was a slow-match or similar fuse.

The wooden rod, of course, is missing.

Any fans out there?

I try very hard to like soccer, but I just can't get there. The biggest problem for me is the time keeping.

Who cares if the game has been going on for 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days? I want to know how much time is left before a winner is decided.

If they changed the time keeping to be like most team sports, I could probably become a fan. As it is now, I'll ignore it along with golf and several other "ho hum" sports.

I have come into an opportunity to get a 3 screw 357 that I have never seen before. It is a convertible 357/9mm flat top. It was pretty adament about it I'm looking for a Mini Supressor host, either the 300AAC or x39 Minies. I do reload all my ammo and though I do not own either caliber yet, my research says that 300AAC has more subsonic options but I really want a Stainless Mini 30, so I'm torn.

I do know that folks run the thirty subsonic supressed but I can't find much on hand loading it.

Ruger rifle wood gunstock?

I have a strange to me Ruger Bolt action WOOD gunstock, tang safety type stock and the recoil lug area in the stock has a round hole instead of the rear slanting groove like the Ruger 77 tang safeties rifles.

A Ruger 77 tang safety in 30-06 caliber will fit into the stock EXCEPT at the recoil area.
The ruger 77 two piece floorplate fits good also.

Anyone got any idea what I have?

That one gun that as soon as you picked it up at the LGS it just fit, melded into your hand, perfect fit, balance - feel - perfect.
Mine is my Browning Buckmark Camper .22LR
This thing is so accurate right out of the box, that gold trigger, perfect weight and balance. I could shoot it over my shoulder with a mirror and still nail the bullseye!

I have 2 No.1's a 1B stainless in 30-06 and a custom color case hardened and engraved 23" 1A in 250 sav 10 twist. Both required floating and bedding the forend to shoot consistent all the time. They wouldn't hold solid zero (it would change 1 to 1.5 inches as times) across temp/humidity changes with forend pressure on barrel. Got my new MK IV home last night. It's a very nice, HEAVY pistol. In the case is the bushing to enable removing the right side safety lever. I never shoot left-handed. Yeah, that's a different discussion. Anyway, I plan to try an Appleseed pistol clinic. You shoot one-handed in it. Until a few months ago I'd likely have removed the right side lever without a second thought. Now debating. So, remove or not? And reason(s) for doing so?

Help me understand the lure of single action revolvers

I just don’t get the appeal of single action only revolvers. I have 3 revolvers, all double action, a S&W model 65-2 357, S&W model 617-6 10 shot 22 cal and a Colt Python 357. If I want to shoot my DA pistols as SA, all I have to do is cock the hammer back. Am I missing something?

I took a chance and ordered a 8 shot .22 mag cylinder. Borchardt rifle co. offers a drop in 8 shot cylinder for the single six, I was skeptical but thought I'd give it a try since it's 100% guarenteed. It arrived today and it dropped right in my ruger, it actually fits better than the factory cylinder. It times and locks up perfect, I couldn't be happier with my new 8 shooter.

Bagged out just 15 min ago. I could bag out everyday so.... that is kind of not fair due to my living on my orchard.

I've loaded hard cast lead bullet loads to light velocity and pressure in 44mag brass. But not in 357mag brass. I've only previously loaded light pressure 357mag with very soft lead bullets.
