My best friend just called me in a panic. His cousin had told him that Ruger was going to quit making single action revolvers and some other guns. I searched the web and found ONE “X” post from a pawn shop and ONE post on “Reddit”. Both posts stated they had received an email from “a distributor” that Ruger was indefinitely suspending production of a whole list of guns. I found nothing else and nothing from what I’d call a reputable source...

There has been a bit of debate in my little circle. The only thing we agree on is this is from the early 80's.

One thought these is a Sile stock that were made in Italy. No pictures have been saved of their product other than vague memories.

The other is that this is from Federal Ordinance pre their under folder. I can find a lot on their under folder, but nothing on their side...

It used to be most of us used iron sights on everything. Scopes got knocked around. People could not aford the price of worthy ones. Weak link. So irons, that came with the gun, were part of the deal. And that meant, the distance from the front sight, to the rear...

It started freezing rain and sleet at first light. Then it switched to snow. The wind was blowing pretty hard. I had 4 coyotes come out and start playing around in my field, and two of them wrestled their way into gun range. And then there was only one.

The deer moved well for the weather...

With the company in transition, what makes the brand special to you?

I took my first deer with a tube fed Deerfield Carbine.

My first handgun was a Ruger Blackhawk on the original 3 screw lockwork.

When I was young, if there was snow on the ground, I had my stainless 10-22 slung over my shoulder, and my stainless GP100 on my hip. I don't have a round count, but it's the miles I remember best. The mountains are a spectacular place in the winter, and those stainless Rugers sided me there...

1974 my Dad gave me a Single Six for my 18th birthday. ( Handgun ownership by 18 year old legal in Florida at that time)

That Single Six has remained a key element for me.Constant use.
And the study and use of other Ruger Single Actions; Bearcat, Blackhawk 38/357 of similar vintage to the 1974 Single Six,Super Blackhawk 44, and 44 Special,from the first 1,000 Lipseys batch.
I even have email correspondence with Jeff Quinn on the Lipseys 44 Special.

So…….. yes another V block question. When my vblock is flush and sits flat the extractor gently rides one side of the extractor slot in the barrel. If I turn the barrel a hair my vblock cants a little bit but my extractor lines up perfectly. Besides the Gunsmither block thing is there any other ideas? I have to use this barrel with this receiver. Can it be canted a little bit? Suggestions? Thanks to all.

Just got back from the range a few hours ago. I took my new Wrangler and my 4 5/8" blued Single-Six Liberty Model (box stock) for comparison. I started out by shooting one cylinder full in the Wrangler followed by one cylinder full in the Single-Six at 10 yards. I wasn't able to use a bench rest so all shots were fired with a 2-hand hold standing up unsupported.

The first thing I noticed was the sight picture …. the Single-Six has black adjustable sights and presents a better sight picture...

I had one of these years ago. It was my all time favorite carry pistol. Light, slim, and packing a good wallop. I foolishly traded it off and have regretted it ever since. I found this one on Guns International, new, never fired, and at a great price. The fired brass envelope is dated 1-25-02. I still have my holster and mag wallet. I’m VERY happy.

The Model 1100, the "gas operated 870" . 11 million 870's have been produced, and close to 4 million of the Model 1100.

I've owned a couple in 12 gauge. They are full size guns that weigh 8 lbs. Both of the ones I owned had no recoil pad, just a plastic butt plate.
Unless you are shooting Magnum loads or slugs, the hard butt plate is fine.
Recoil is pretty mild with game or target ammo.

What's your poison this evening? I kick it off.

I'm having a few Dogfish Head 120 IPAs this evening. Special batch aged in Utopias oak barrels (Boston Brewery bought them out a couple of years ago). They are tasty, but I'm having an issue calling them IPAs. More like barley wine overall. Normal 120 Min IPAs have that hoppy kick. These don't, but they are tasty nonetheless.
