Its been long time since I last updated my blog, and this will be my last blog post ever. Yes I mean it, this blog will be changed into another format since I can take advantage of its good page rank. Next year (like tomorrow) I will start posting on my new blog site http://www.rungitom.com, using only the default TwentyTen template.

Talkng about new year, how have 2011 been to you? Great? Bad? Either way, be glad that you have lived through that year. Look back to your new friend you make, look back at your pictures you took, lok back on your achievements you gained. Still not satisfied and think 2011 is a bad year? No wories, 2012 will serve a ground where you can take back what you have losk, gain more than what you had in 2011. But don't be lazy, work it, to achieve it.

Life have been more interesting by the day. There are a few things that I successfully acquired, a few things that I failed miserably, a few things in which I have been entrusted to. I feel bad to all the broken promises I made this year, all the unanswered questions, all the incomplete works, all the things that make my friend sad. For that, I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart, I may not be perfect, but I still strive to achieve and fulfill every promises I made.

So next year, find what is your highest priority, sort it out orderly. What is that you want to acquire or achieve? plan your way to get it by all means necessary, without taking so much of your time, less procrastination, less talking, more work. The bad news is time flies so fast, but the good news is you’re the pilot! So be in control and be above the rest in your conquest of fulfilling your work, dreams and ambitions.

I tried this new app from Facebook called 2011 Statistics, my first status update was pretty much the same with what I mentioned in my timeline few days ago.

Goodbye 2011 and hello 2012, gonna log off and help setting up the barbecue. See you next year! :P

Music Monday posted pretty late today, been enjoying the long weekend and not realizing that today is actually Monday. Since covering for Chivas Regal 18 event last Friday at B.E.D, I've developed much love for dance/club music. As the title said, this song fits perfectly with my new found love with this music genre. This song is another David Guetta works with Chris Willis, Too Much in Love. If you still remember the song Love is Gone, thats their first collaboration song before this, this time the element of rock included in the mix while not gortetting the dance vibe.

Airport tax raised effective from 25th November

Just 17 hour ago, Air Asia official page on Facebook announce the increment of airport tax for all airports. Now what is airport tax? This can refer to Airport Improvement Fee, charged by some airports to fund expansion projects; or Landing fees, charged by most international airports per landed aircraft, and usually paid by the passengers as part of the price of the tickets. Either its one of it or both, I'm not sure how Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) charge it, yep you read that, you're not paying for the airline carrier company but to MAB. Read the announcement from Air Asia below,

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) has enforced the increment of airport tax for all airports throughout Malaysia for all International Flights.
“You can increase if you improve the facilities. I don’t see the justification for it as our guests are the ones paying for it, and it costs more to fly now” – Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial
With compliance, the airport tax raise will be effective from this 25th November 2011 (Friday) at 00:01 hrs (GMT+8). All flights purchased from 25th November 2011 onwards will adhere to the new airport tax increase.

*Please note that the airport tax are 100% payable to Malaysia Airports Berhad (and not to AirAsia Berhad).

So you found a new song playing on the airwaves, you liked it, browse the internet for the mp3, upload to your phones, set up as your ringtone. A few days later, or maybe soon enough, your best friend (coincidentally) have the same ringtone. Despair? Frustrated? Hahaha, chill, it happens to me also.

When it comes to this situation, I always go back to browse my old playlist and I assure you that there will be that song you fall in love again. For example for this week's Music Monday, I present You Know My Name, the theme song to the 2006 James Bond film, Casino Royale.

This song was performed by Chris Cornell of Audioslave. The song was actually made to act as a substitute for the usual James Bond theme, to represent Bond's immaturity. In the movie, James Bond is a newbie agent that kick, shoot, punches away whoever that got in his way. It was back in 2006, the college days, after attending our faculty dinner night, me and my friends decided to see that movie. That is when I heard the song for the first time, and I was totally blown away. So this is my current ringtone, my current musical motivator, my favourite. Enjoy the song and hope you can enjoy the day without Monday blues.

After all these years, one of my most favourite childhood anime series finally got a touch of live action. Yep, you heard that, live action baby! But wait.. is this a new series? a new upcoming movie? what is it really? Well, thanks to Toyota Motor Corporation, this has became a reality.

The Void: Aftermath

Hello and welcome to another chapter of The Void, today I'm going to share you the aftermath of my tooth extraction.

After the tooth extraction was complete, the staff gave me this rolled up cotton gauze for me so I can suppress the bleeding (and act less like zombie). They also gave me some painkillers and more cotton gauze, one is not enough you know. In that journey from Inanam to my workplace, I can't stop drooling while the anesthetic was still in effect, so I kept spitting out the excess blood. I wondered what the do's and don't after a tooth extraction, the doctor didn't gave any tips of advice whatsoever (bummer). The first thing when I finally seated on my desk was to search about tooth extraction post-procedure care. The next day, my breath became a bit stinky, but it smells much more better that the time I still got the bad tooth inside. Now that the numbness is gone and the bleeding getting lesser, slight pain and swelling now occured at the place that once houses a tooth...

The result of my google search yields these results, and I want to share with you, so that next time you can anticipate what is going to happen next. Do the following to ensure a smooth recovery after a tooth extraction,

Take heed of your doctor's instructions after the procedure (in my case, I got none)
If swelling occurs, apply an ice pack to the area. (or just drink cold water).
DO NOT, I REPEAT! DO NOT dislodge the blood clot that forms in the gum where your tooth was, either using your tongue or finger. This can cause infections, if it still bleeds, supress it with the cotton gauze instead. Besides, the blood clot is the first process to fill up the holes in your gum and hasten the healing process.
Do not spit or rinse forcefully in the first 24 hours. (I just broke this rule when I got out from the dentist clinic)
Do not smoke.
Do not allow food particles to pack into the socket. (this one is kinda tricky, I have to eat sideways to actually avoid that)
Do not use drinking straws in the first 24 hours. (broke this one too :/)
Begin rinsing your mouth 24 hours after the procedure. Use a solution made of ½ teaspoon salt and 8 ounces warm water.
Eat a soft or liquid diet for the first 24 hours. (the first night, I ate bubur kodop. Then again this morning I ate mee goreng seafood.)
Avoid activity for the first 24 hours. For the next 1-2 days, limit your activity.
Continue to brush and floss other teeth. This will help prevent infection in the extraction site.
Avoid alcoholic beverages. (no beer, bummer)
Avoid eating hot and spicy food. (same goes to drinking, avoid the hot ones)

If one of this following occurs, please make a visit to the dentist again,

Signs of infection, including fever and chills
Redness, swelling, increasing pain, or any discharge from the open socket
Excessive bleeding continuing for more than four hours after surgery
Pain that you cannot control with the medicines you have been given
Cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, or severe nausea or vomiting
Any new symptom

One more thing you must take notice is Dry Socket. This is an infection in your gum after a tooth is extracted, it occurs when a blood clot fails to form in the socket (see, I told you not to touch the blood clot), or if the blood clot comes loose. The blood clot, as I mentioned earlier, promotes healing, laying the foundation for the growth of new bone tissue. When dry socket strikes, this blood clot is lost and the socket appears empty leaving the nerves exposed, and sometimes the jaw bone became visible through the hole. The condition will manifest itself as severe pain that doesn’t subside (thats way hellish than the toothache itself). Ways to cure it? visit your dentist right away!

And before I end this chapter, I strongly advice you to do a dental check-up from time to time. You may still have a chance to save your teeth, with the loss of my second molar, I think chewing food will take more time than expected. Let me recount you a terrifying tale, I was ordered to lay down on the chair, I opened my mouth to receive one swab of reddish gel to my gum, folllowed by three jabs of anesthetic and quickly ended with 1 tooth pulled out...

I felt increasingly painful at my right second molar (one before wisdom tooth) since Sunday. God knows how painful it was, and how bad is my breath is (friggin' horrible man!). So thats why I decided to make an appointment to Klinik Pergigian Inanam, paid RM60 to extract out my bad tooth, yes tooth, not teeth. The tooth was actually chipped off bit by bit many months before, but I reluctantly ignored it. So that made way to its decaying and the ultimate pain. Now why would my tooth be chipped off? My wisdom tooth.

See that pic above? Yep, I believe the partial eruption of my wisdom tooth pushed out my second molar tooth, same thing happened on the left one but to date I felt no pain. But someday I will have to take that one out as well, time is ticking...

Anyway, after the extraction I requested to take back my bad tooth with me, went to work as usual after that.

EWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Out of curiosity, I examine the extracted tooth, felt disgusted with myself. Damn, this thing has been in my mouth for months and I ignored it! When I got home later in the evening, I quickly bring my two little sisters and showed them the tooth saying, "This is what happens when you don't brush your teeth regularly". Both of them freaked out and felt disgusted, I sure gave them a good lesson.

For a few days or maybe weeks, no hot stuffs or touching the gum with finger or tongue. Here's for a fast recovery so I can enjoy my tea again.
Once there was a tooth which works hard to grind food, now only the void fills up the empty spaces...

Goodbye dear tooth, you have served me well...

The scary maze prank

Have you ever... pranked someone and scared the shit of of them? Luckily I don't and I didn't get scared too much when I was the victim. You know back in my college days, we sometimes play various mini flash games, for those who are lazy to install or bored playing Counter Strike or Need For Speed. Remember throwing shit in the toilet bowl? or playing as a lost hunter in a gay forest (shoot or prepare to get gay buttsecks).

One of the flash game is the scary prank, to be precise for today's Tickle Tuesday, scary maze prank. The victims will scroll the tiny black dot to wards the end of the maze, unaware what big surprise awaits for them (almost) at the end. My version of the scary prank was a diferent one, but nonetheless does the same job scaring people out. So here's one of many compilation of the scary maze prank.

Its hillarious to see those scares faces, but wait till the joke is on you. But you pretty much can see through the trick and refuse to play the game anyway. My favourite video for this prank will be this one, why? watch below..

Yo, its Monday again, and here in The Rungitom its Music Monday all over again. I'm plagued by constant toothache, and relied on my huge sense of busyness (at the time being) and Paracetamol to keep my mind off the pulsing pain.

Hey.. its Sunday...

Once again I'm in my crib/pseudo-workstation to do some research on working with Joomla and JomSocial. Doing it, along with some design cosmetical changes to my client's website. I got stressed, so I took a time off reading my favourite mens mag, FHM Malaysia. I got interested with this month featured Girlfrield.

Meet Jennifer Yap Choi Lin, or in short, you can call her Jen or Choi Lin.

She's born in Switzerland with a mix of German, Swiss and Chinese in her blood, and bred in Malaysia since the age of 2 years old. Thanks to her dad (Malaysian Chinese) and her mom (German & Swiss), she possess the beauty that many will be jealous with.

This fine young lady is only 22 years old and just finished studying Diploma in Advertising & Graphics last year. She's doing just fine in the working world, working as a freelance graphic designer, doing part time in modelling (fashion/glamour/fitness shoots) and even toddler supervisor (stated in the FHM article).

Back in my previous post, I did mentioned that I will announce one good news. so here it is, my new blog domain,

To be honest, I have never planned for this to happen, even though I did mention about wanting to do this somewhere last year. It just came out of the blue, after I have my experiences tweaking Wordpress site for my client. Never in my entire life, I've done web design in Wordpress, the project came right on my table with a limited time to finish. So since the last week of October until now, I'm working on two big website project. I've just finished one website like last week, so I'm moving on the next one and finish it with lightning speed.

That, moved my decision to have my own domain and the rest is history...

For now, it is still under construction, so I will be updating here as usual. I will announce once my new site is up and running. Till then, cheers!

p/s: I want to say a big thank you to all my friends who wished me hapy birthday today. Even though its a short message, I highly appreciate it and you definitely made my day. ;)

As I turn 25, I felt a slight pain in my chest followed by a loud thud... the numbers on my wrist began constantly change in time... (In Time anyone?)

Ahaha, anyway, I already made a wish for my birthday, which is a long term one and I will make sure that this will be Legen... wait for it ... dary.. LEGENDARY! I'm going to announce a good news later on, till then, enjoy the weekend. I will enjoy my time for my special day, off to KK city to watch a movie. Immortals seems a great based on my friends rating. So back to my post peeps, remember those awesome moves you've seen in America's Best Dance Crew? Those inspiring moves you see in Step Up? or even our local talent strut their popping and locking moves on 8TV's Showdown? Now this is your chance to see it live here in Kota Kinabalu!

Borneo Street Dance is happening this 19th November!

The event will take place at Palm Square, Centre Point shopping mall, Kota Kinabalu, from 10AM to 7PM. Mode of competition will be group based (3-6 members) performances and it is open to all who are interested. Expect a fierce battle of skills between crews here, so a towel might come in handy to wipe your sweat off form watching their hot moves. 3 winners will get this awesome prizes, the grand winner will bag away RM1,500, the 1st runner up will get RM1000 and 2nd runner up get RM500, all of them will also be awarded with certificate to acknowledge their great effort and bravery (hey, it takes a lot of courage to perform among thousands of viewers).

Event will start off from state level, it will also be happening in Sarawak on the 13th November at Spring Shopping Mall, Kuching. Meanwhile in Labuan, the event will be held t on the 12th November at Financial Park. Like I mentioned earlier, those 3 winners from each state ( and a Federal Territory) will be battling out in the grand finale on 26th November at Labuan International Sea Sports Complex.

So, I will be going to attend Borneo Street Dance on the 19th, come and join along with me and I will take a pic of you too. :)

Oil & Gas Industries in Sabah: The Way Forward

Browsing through new related about Sabah Oil & Gas scene, this particular event caught my attention. Sabah Oil & Gas Contractors Association (SOGCA) is organizing a Sabah Oil & Gas Forum from the 3rd until the 4th of November, 2011 at the Magellan Sutera Harbour. Now this event is very interesting because participants will have the opportunity to understand Sabah's oil & gas industry scene, engage in discussions and exchanging views and ideas with leaders experienced in the oil and gas industry in Sabah. This is not the first event organized by SOGCA, they previously jointly organized the first Borneo International Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition in 2010 with the Institute For Development Studies (Sabah), and this event was endorsed by the state government.

About SOGCA

The association was established on 27 March 2008, brought up by the current Exploration & Production development particularly within Sabah waters offshore and onshore, they represent a business forum for the oil & gas contractors in Sabah to achieve recognition and success in the industry.

SOGCA wishes to promote the interest of industry peers in Sabah through the association. The association act as an umbrella body, whose membership is strictly for Sabahan Contractors or companies and is formed as a platform to signify the desire for equal participation in the vibrant oil & gas industry.

The association acknowledged the importance for newly established players in Sabah’s Oil & Gas industry, to support each other as well as broadening their horizons in this dynamic business. they believed there is enough cake to be shared around between Sabahans and everyone should be given the opportunity for growth.

Aims and Objectives

SOGCA’s main aim is to signify the strong desire by local Sabahan firms to participate strongly within the dynamic oil & gas industry in East Malaysia.
SOGCA aims to represent the Sabah oil & gas contractors in promoting their interests & growth.
SOGCA aims to contribute towards national growth through the oil & gas industry particularly through the Sabah Development Corridor.
SOGCA aims to position Sabah based contractors to be equally recognized for providing quality products and services to the oil & gas industry in Malaysia and abroad.
SOGCA aim to promote the importance of Sabahan firms supporting and complementing each other and creating business opportunities so all parties would not be deprived of the opportunity to grow and share the wealth.

Empire what?

Haha, Empire Avenue is a stock market simulation social network game that allows users to buy and sell shares of people and websites. So I got people buying shares from me and me doing the same to others. To increase my share value, I would have to be active in many Social Media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and even my blog activity. Currently I got as much as 121,415.81 Eaves (The currency they used), and I will plan to invest on some great profiles.

Maybe this is the time I should play around with stock market like activity, without the worries of losing real money. There is so much thing going on just after 2 days I've logged in, and I still have a lot more to learn. But anyway, I'm having fun playing in EmpireAvenue, how about you?
