First Look: RWD Announces Contest Winners: Polyvore.com's "The Summer Six" Top Three Stylists

It was with great pleasure that I recently judged The Summer Six Contest for Polyvore. To say that polyvore set-makers are sophisticated stylists is the biggest understatement, ever. These creative fashion magicians create ensembles that set the mood, tell a story or even channel a celeb. The passion they put into every set is amazing and their eye for style is innate. I chose six stellar summer trends and Polyvore asked it's members to best create a set that demonstrated how they'd wear the trend. With just over two thousand entries this was quite a large task. Would you believe me if I said I looked at every single one? Well...I did! And it was a hard, hard job to choose only three because there were so many fabulous entries.

So, without further ado...my top three favorite sets/winners are below. Why these three? I love how each look incorporated more than one trend from my Summer Six. Many of the stylists just chose one trend (which is fine) but I love how these amazing stylists below chose two or more in their sets. I'd like to breakdown for you what I love and adore about each set, too!

1st Place Winner:

The Summer Six by Lindsey Luscious on Polyvore.com

Lindsey's set caught my attention right away. From the incredibly adorable zebra crop top to a pair of skin toned Steve Madden gladiator's I've been lusting over the last two seasons (but just haven't purchased yet.) I can honestly see myself donning every single piece in this set. I love the stacker rings and the Ray Ban Wayfarers. I adore my leather vest and never thought to pair it with some cutoffs. How about those statement chandelier earrings? Love them. Great job, Lindsey Luscious!

2nd Place Winner:

The Summer Six Contest by ♥Donna Leny♥ {TAKIN' REQUESTS} featuring Kenneth Jay Lane jewelry

Donna Leny's set grabbed my attention immediately. This was a very close second place finisher. Including four of the six summer trends, this lady KNOWS how to pair piece together. The four she styled are statement earrings, coral colored accessories, captivating cut outs and skin tone sandals. Adding in a picture of her fave actress (I'm also a big Keira fan) and some sweet Paisley notecards...I knew this lady had ladylike style right away. You have to dig deep into all the items in this set...because some are hidden, but that's just what I love. Congrats winner number two, Donny Leny.

3rd Place Winner:

Break The Walls by snowbell on Polyvore.com

Snowbell's set, aptly named Break the Walls, is rocker chic with tough girl charm. This die-hard Polyvore devotee already has some serious medals and Polyvore reader accolades under her belt...style is style and my eyes were continually drawn back to this gorgeous muted hue ensemble. Including both a maxi skirt, a cropped jacket and statement earrings, Snowbell pulled out all the stops for this gorgeous creation. With piece ranging from $12.50 to $1,625.00, this is a lady after my own heart mixing high and low pieces with ease. Congrats Snowbell on your gorgeous third place set.

Thank you Polyvore for such a wonderful and fun Summer Six Contest. Each entry was amazing and Polyvore really is a great place to put some of your styling skills to use. If you haven't tried it yet, it's easy and totally user friendly. Make sure to check it out if putting together creative outfits is one of your passions, like mine because sometimes the contests even have REAL prizes (gift cards) in addition to the Polyvore medals. Yours truly had the great pleasure of meeting with team Polyvore recently. It was a day filled with laughter, brainstorming and fashion. Why did I meet with them? We were discussing how to better tailor their product for fashion bloggers worldwide. I got a sneak peek of some new technology and also got to chat about future collaboration between both companies...coming soon!

Maybe you're not a devoted reader of RWD and are saying to yourself, 'What the heck is Polyvore?' Let me take the time to introduce you. It was so interesting to see the inner workings at Polyvore and meet the team. They were kind, friendly and filled with fresh ideas. They sent me away with an adorable tote and notepad that I adore...I'm such a sucker for free stuff, ha! Seriously, I'll carry that bag everywhere (yay for free advertising for them) as it already made an appearance this past weekend at a music festival. Polyvore...thank you so much for opening up your workspace, schedule and inviting us down to chat. Cheers to you!

Chictopia Fashion Darlings - Inspirational Street Style

Readers...I'd like to welcome you to my latest addiction - Chictopia! I'm totally a newbie and just getting started (so no judgments if you're a hardcore user and have this site figured out). I have actually spent the last few days perusing through all the fabulous ensembles that fellow fashion addicts have put together and I'm beyond impressed. No, not just for the die hard stylists, this site also caters to those just searching for inspiration or a great indie find. I'm going to be featuring some of my fave looks from time to time. Today's crew consists of six stellar ensembles that I will be emulating pronto.

First up, Frickys adorable look is fun, playful but tailored with the addition of the boyfriend blazer. I love the LAYERED CHAINS and her OVERSIZED BAG is perfect for a day out shopping. Jetaimelovely is the next fashion darling who caught my eye. Her own quote made me laugh on this aptly named Floral Friday look, 'I should wear red lipstick more often. I think I'd feel cooler.' Yep, love her already. Plus...her distressed denim and STRAP HAPPY sandals are such a nice touch.

NASTYGAL (upper right) has got some serious style and guess where girlfriend hails from...right here in the bay area (woot woot!) I had a hard time choose WHICH look from her lookbook to post. In the end, her adorable ANKLE CUFF sandals grabbed my eye and her minimal accessories and perfect layering are so chic. Moving on to WickedPlumVintage (bottom left) as I just adore a good floral with boots and this look is styled supremely well.

Jujubabyy looks smashing in her cropped SEQUINED jacket. Her nameplate necklace is oh so fly like Lauren Conrad and her grey T and minimal black bottom half draw your eyes upward. (PS - lady is wearing her colors proudly as she's an LA fashionista supporting her Lakers in the Finals...lovin' it!) Lastly, Noirohio caught my attention right off the bat...although I don't have tattoos, I kind of think they're badass. Mix those daring gams with some impeccable personal styling and that would be her!

Pssst, she's got a blog...definitely an intoxicating/fashionable lady I'll be keeping an eye on! Enjoy and become inspired via Chictopia's Fashion Darlings! Also, if I were to add some pieces to my wardrobe as a result from the inspiration I got from the above six fashionable ladies...naturally, here they are:
