I don’t have to have awards, or have sold something, or have an exhibit. pulling together some photos for this website, I realized that I’ve taken a lot of photos over the years. I think I’ve lost more than I have, too. Sadly, I don’t have old film shots from years ago and somewhere along the way, it seems some digital files have also disappeared. I respect them, the people willing to stand out in all weather for hours, or days, waiting to get an amazing shot of some animal in the wild. That’s not me. If you look at the miles of film, and the mountains of pixels, I’ve shot since then, you’ll see Julia is my favorite subject. What you see is what you get. I don’t remove pimples or scars or distractions in the background. I do adjust tonal values of images, and I’ve been known to remove scratches created in the film development process.
