RVParkReviews.com - "Crystal Cove Resort and RV Park" in Tofino, British Columbia - was rated: 4

Without a doubt the local area is blessed with some magnificent geography, and, perhaps the previous 10 rated reviews confused the beautiful beaches, ocean views, and mountain views, with the rating of this park. This RV park is not set up for big rigs. That applies to the rest of the local campgrounds! When you read the following you will understand why they charge you full price when reserving a site. The RV park is in the heavily wooded area, with no views and no sunlight if it comes out. It rains here a lot, so, everything stays wet after the rain stops (drip, drip). Our site was surrounded by a wet bog (more wet). The RV sites have a minimal amount of gravel and things get real muddy (in and out of the RV) during rainy periods. Only 30A electric, and sewer connection about 30' away from RV outlet. When we called to book the reservation we explained that we were a big rig: 40' 5th wheel, 56' overall with the truck, and 14' wide with the slides out. The person at the desk checked with the general manager and he assured us that there was no problem handling a rig of our size. When we arrived they gave us a printout (after we had squeezed the RV into the site) that stated that a maximum length of 35' for motor homes and 30' for trailerable RV's. We managed to get our RV in the so called big rig site, with trees and bushes window to window, on three sides, and no room left over for the truck. I wanted my money back, but they tried to buy me off by giving us a cheap bottle of wine. We would have been much happier being told to stay away as our RV is too big for the park. We left the park before our paid up time expired. We do not recommend this park if you have a big rig.

Great staff and people. The conference center had a program Sunday morning. I liked that they came by to pick up the trash every morning. The security was good. The grounds are neat and clean. Cement pads in pull-through configuration. We were close to neighbors, but it was quiet nonetheless.

When we pulled into this park mid-afternoon, there was no one around to direct us. A resident directed us to a row of 15 pull-through sites in the middle of an asphalt parking lot. It was not possible to park a rig without unhooking from the truck and still reach the hookups. We debated the situation for several minutes and found a different RV Park. I do not recommend this park.

Lovely campground run by very nice couple. We had no trouble entering or departing in a 42' motorhome with car attached. Nice sites and had a new dog park for your pet to run off leash. Shaded but still got out on satellite on our coach...will stay here again...

A nice little place right on the ocean and in a quiet town. The washrooms are large and very clean. Electrical, water and sewer on each site with good water and tables, some have a fire box. WiFi hot spot but only some sites get it. Owners are on site and very helpful and nice to talk with. $25.00 a night cash if you use a credit card you have to pay the 13 % HST. Camped here three nights. Nice location in Gros Morne. Would stay again, This is a very quiet campground and spotless.

This is an OK place, but just OK. Our rate was with the Good Sam discount, and our space was gravel while the rest of the park had nice grass between the sites and concrete pads. Those sites were even more expensive. The check-in personnel were friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was almost non-existent at our RV site so I had to use the game room to access the internet. They say that there are too many people accessing the internet, and that's why it's slow. However, when I am near the office, the internet signal is strong and easy to access at any time of day. There were only two of us in our party, which I specified in our reservation, but they put us three spaces from the playground, and we were surrounded by bunches of kids. I somehow get the feeling that the Good Sam discount sites are the most undesirable which is why I gave this park a so-so rating. We will not stay here again.

Excellent COE park. Paved sites with full hookups, very well maintained complex. The restroom are spotless. Only drawback was "non-working" check-in staff. Wanted us to go to campsites and see which one's were reserved rather than look at her computer screen.

As of 5/21, the dump station is closed for construction. There is no other hose hookup available for fresh water. Use another RV park to dump and get water. Of course, NPS doesn't post any warning about this on their website or reservation site. Typical incompetence.

New owners have made this a very clean, quiet, friendly and convenient campground. The bathrooms and showers are freshly painted and even smell good. Many personal touches like stenciling and nice air fresheners make them above average. The grounds and pool were in great condition. The owners and young family all join in the maintenance which creates a friendly "family values" experience. Very helpful, friendly hosts made for a terrific overnight stay after a hard day of travel. We had planned to go further that day, but after loosing a tire and dealing with the repairs and stress of that, we saw their sign on Hwy 80 and decided to take a chance on Little Bear. We would definitely go back again and would recommend them to family and friends.

This review is to be considered an update to my previous review since improvements have been completed. This campground is so much better than what they had, the spaces have a 60' concrete pad and the entire spot is approximately 80' with gravel at each end. Each spot has a picnic table and fire ring. There is a playground for the kids, laundry and bathroom/shower facilities. In a conversation with one of the outdoor rec folks, I was told that there are plans for 10 more spots, all the same size as the current ones. The plan also includes the closing of the older camp. The two ponds have fish, catch and release only, and no license required. Check in is at the Air Capital Inn - not outdoor recreation. Access to the laundry is obtained at outdoor recreation where you get an access card for the reader on the laundry door. There are two washers and two dryers, all free. The Famcamp is big rig friendly. We had good satellite and Verizon WiFi reception. I will stay here again when I'm in this area. This Famcamp is one of the better campgrounds in my experience. The only negative for me was the lack of a dog run area and the height of the sewer hookup, I had to get some rain gutter to make a bridge from the RV hookup and the sewer dump. The folks at outdoor recreation stated that this will be fixed as soon as possible.

Park clean, but sites tight and crowded. Difficult to get in and out of park due to being on a busy street and narrow roads in the RV park. The plus, is that you can catch the city bus right outside of the RV park. The negatives are that there is lots of highway noise in the park. Also, poor Wi-Fi, and internet reception. Would not stay here again.

This campground was very well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We only stayed here one night, but everything worked well and our site was level so we didn't even need to unhitch. We were near the office, so the Wi-Fi was strong. The hookups were a little strange, because the site we stayed in -- #6 -- had the water and electric on the passenger side of the trailer, so we needed extra water hose and power cord (which luckily we do carry). I did not notice if all sites in this area of the park had this situation. The sewer hookup was fine. All in all, we enjoyed our one night stay and would definitely stay here again.

This was the first campground in a month of travelling that I had to use the leveling blocks. Maybe it was just that one particular site but the others appeared to have their own off-camber issues also. The strangest thing is you drive through the dump station to enter or exit the campground. Therefore if you are doing the dumping routine, you will be blocking traffic. Weird. Very nice clean restroom/shower facilities. Peaceful and quiet with a forest setting.

Goofiest campground I've seen. First loop read "Trailers only" so I went to the next loop. There the sign read "Horse trailers only" and so I continued on. The third camping area was for "Tenters only". Now I had ran out of campground loops. Went to the store and no one was there. Turned around and went all the way back to the "Trailers only" camp and after three spots found one fairly level. Later when the Ranger came by I explained what I went through. He agreed it was confusing, but "trailers" meant RV's also. He also said I needed to go a bit further past the store to find the ranger check-in station, although no signs to that effect were about. Since I was already set up he said just to come by in the morning and pay, which I did. The lady inside was at a complete loss as to how to input my stay into the computer since I was leaving. I left my $$ on the counter and wished her good luck. Bathroom/showers were well worn but usable. Oh the joys of camping.

We stayed here on our way to Alaska and were pleased with the park. The hookups are shared with your neighbor on one side, but you pull through in opposite directions so your door opens to a wider grassy area with about 20' to your neighbor on that side -- very nice. The sites and interior roads are a little bumpy but this is to be expected this time of year (spring). We still had no problems getting level. As others stated, Wi-Fi is weak at your site but stronger nearer the office. There is also some occasional train and airplane noise, but not excessive. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed a week to be able to take in all attractions in area. Clean, safe and quite. Near the freeway, but you don't get the noise. Gravel sites and paved road around. Close to all attractions in area an Louisville. Laundry only has two machines and is $2.00 per load. Would stay again.

This is a great state park, clean, good personnel, and scenic location. It is a plus that it is close to Savannah. The walking trails were well-maintained and attractive. The site we stayed in was a pull-through. There were lots of trees - no satellite TV, and privacy was not perfect. They were working on building new campsites and upgrading things.

This campground is FANTASTIC! It is spotless - all of it. The restrooms have private rooms with shower, toilet, sink, etc. The roads in and around are all paved, as well as the campsites. There are fire rings, some barbeques, full hook ups on Mallard loop and Redhead loop. Close to town. The Ranger and his wife were wonderful folks. I have never been to a nicer campground. The area it's in is just so peaceful. Please check it out.

Staff was very friendly when we called broken down on the side of the highway. Good Sam had a wrecker on the way, and we selected Hwy. 71 as the destination for the tow. Came in the front gate on a flatbed with trailer in tow on the hook. Went directly to first site set aside for us and proceeded to repair our trip. Shower/restrooms were very clean, pool wonderful, washing machines were clean and large with waiting area at the office. We can't complain about a thing as highway noise is part of travel. Gated for security and clean.

Nice, clean RV park off the beaten path. We stayed for one night in a pull through so that we did not have to disconnect the toad. The price is Passport America and is cash. They charge $5 to use a credit card. This is a great value with an easy to access gravel and level site. Cable TV and internet worked great. The Colorado River was a stones throw away from the site with nice walking trails next to the river. I cannot think of anything negative to say. We will definitely stay here again.

This newer park is just fabulous. The clubhouse and pool are beautiful. The staff was terrific. The grounds are well maintained and immaculate. The showers are the nicest I have seen in a resort. The scenery is beautiful, and you can get a back in site along the river. You can rent a pontoon boat to take out in the lake. They have a massive pavilion for groups. Shopping is close by. When we are back in the area this would be our choice of places to stay.

Price reflects a 10% Good Sam discount. This is a very pretty park with its trees and creek view. The people are hard working and aim to please. However, the sites are very close together; the neighbors' sewer hookup was only 4' from our front door! We were lucky that in the week we stayed there we had immediate neighbors for only 3 nights. The wi-fi signal was good, the TV signal rather fuzzy, and they needed some trash cans for garbage.
From the road the park looked OK, but the nice shaded sites are taken by the long timers. Overnighters are put in a glorified full hookup, short, pull through in the back by the storage area. The park can't help it that the industrial park next door is being graded and there are constant dust storms, but it was a big disappointment. The pet areas were nonexistent. Trash is all over the place. We moved the next day to a better place just down the road and the price was about the same. Hard to reserve a specific site ahead so you have to gamble to get a pull thru at the front which is the only sites acceptable to us. Sites are either gravel or grass, no pads. No trash pick up. Trains do keep you awake at night, plus lots of sirens and traffic. This is not a very good area of town and there is absolutely no security of any type.
Good sites. Great views of Smoky Mountains. Very winding road driving to park and it is also about 7 miles from the activity of Pigeon Forge. Advertised cable but it was a type of digital box that you had to hook up to your television and it would not work with our system. No security, no trash pick-up. Passport America sites were gravel back-ins that were not adequate for our RV so we had to pay for a premium site. Would not stay here again.
We stayed in the A loop and our site was quite large with vegetation between our site and the others so somewhat semi-private. The location of this campground is fantastic with 360 degree mountain views. The campground was full but Zion NP was not that busy. It's close to the Visitor's Center and the shuttle bus stop that takes you to all the great trail heads. There is also a nice 3.5 mile round-trip paved bike trail nearby.
The location of this RV park cannot be beat. There is a free shuttle stop right in front of Ruby's that takes you into Bryce Canyon National Park. Parking within the National Park is very limited but don't miss Bryce because it's unlike anything you've ever seen. They also have some spectacular trails down into the canyon. Our site was plenty large enough for our fifth wheel and truck with adequate space between campers for the picnic table. The Wi-Fi was virtually non-existent so we had to go to the hotel lobby for an internet connection. I had a package, containing a generator part, that arrived a day after our departure and the office staff called me so they could forward it to my next location.
This is a nice park about 5 miles south of Florence, with Lake Woahink on one side and the dunes/ocean on the other. The sites are gravel, generally level and have hedges between the sites for privacy. They are also very wide with plenty room left when the slides and awning are out.
Parking at sites are kind of small for bigger units, one way roads in campsite means half the sites on each loop are set up so you open your door onto the road rather than into the site itself. I didn't like the idea that I would have to let our dog out on the road side of the RV. And to use the picnic table and fire pit, everything had to be hauled around the RV to the opposite side. I ignored the direction signs and entered the loop the wrong way so I could park with the door facing into the site. Registration was a bit of a farce, we were camped with another couple who was told they could only stay in their site and then would have to move to a different site, which they did. But their original site was never filled for the remaining nights that they stayed in the campsite. I guess their computer system must be as antiquated as their site setup.

Thursday, May 23 ... Root 66 RV Park, Sun Valley (Holbrook) AZ. This is a campground right off interstate 40 at exit 294 in the eastern part of the state. It is a small park with sites right next to each other with full hookups. It is run by a nice family and we checked in early in the morning so that we could spend the day at the Petrified Forest National Park about 17 miles north off interstate 40. We were coming from the west so it was easier to get a site in the morning and then drive to the park and take the park road from the north entrance to the south entrance and pick up 180 north to Holbrook and back to the campground. Holbrook is a great place to get gas with reasonable prices. This is a Passport America park so the cost was $16.50. Showers are extra and there is not much to do in the campground. It is a good overnight stop right off the highway and you can hear the cars and trucks from your site. There is 24 hour check in and checkout is at noon. It is a safe place to camp with reasonable costs. If we were traveling through AZ again and needed a place to stay on our travels we would stop again. It is also located on the historic route 66.

Some sites had the deep tire tracks left by Diesel pushers when the ground was wet. The site had no shade, 300 section. TV and Wi-Fi worked well. Washrooms and showers were well kept and clean. There is a large building for rallies.
This RV park caters to adults and is quiet, neat and clean. The interstate highway can be heard, but it is not an issue. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Big rigs can get into the sites as the majority are pull through with full service. Roads are gravel but in good condition, not full of pot holes. Sites could use some leveling, but they are not so bad that you cannot level your unit. Area discount coupons and free coffee are available in the office. There is also a very nice shelter for rallies and large group gatherings, and the shelter is close to the wash rooms.
Rate shown is with full services. This park is close to Montreal, yet you feel that you are in a secluded area. There are sites ranging from unserviced to 3-services, and all are heavily shaded. Sites are well spaced and private, and a few can accommodate larger rigs. The sandy beach on Lac des Deux Montagnes is 2 kilometres long. Great family place. This campground is family-oriented, quiet and regularly patrolled by park staff, who are all friendly and eager to assist. Reservations highly recommended for serviced sites during holiday periods.

Price reflects daily rate plus $7/day required Colorado Parks pass - if you do not possess the seasonal pass available for $70/year. If you must have shade trees, you may not be happy here. But the western sky is shaded by the mountain by late afternoon. Sites are large, nicely spaced, concrete and asphalt with full hook-ups and picnic and tent areas. There are miles of bike and walking trails. Dogs are allowed in the park but prohibited from walking on the trails. Big rigs towing, don't miss the small sign to keep left at the roundabout near the entrance. Upon our departure we were forced to turn right on Highway 115 due to an event at the military base and drove several miles out of our way before finding a suitable place to turn around. We would most definitely stay again.

It...s an OK place, but calling it a resort is a stretch. Water pressure is extremely low, roads and sites are muddy and rutted, and Wi-Fi is sporadic.
Price is $20/night for Pinion D-Loop, with electric only, but requires a $7/day pass for your car if you do not have the Colorado State Parks pass ($70/year). Gorgeous mountain views. We did experience some winds. Verizon signal was good. Good highway access to 160 and I-25 is not too far away. I used the showers which were $1.50 for 10 minutes which accepts quarters only. Our pull through was a bit tight on the exit for our big rig.
This place is run like a prison. Guards run around and write tickets for everything you can think of. NO common sense displayed. Dog parks are very shoddy, only 2 hours for big dogs in the heat of the day. Glad we got outta here before May! They cater to ankle bitters, and the people that own them, they don't like big dogs so we won't return. This is just NOT a friendly place, most that we camped near said they would not return.
We stayed here for one night on our way from the Outer Banks to MA. This campground is located quite a distance from any major highway and access is over two lane country roads. The rather long entrance road changes from one level of blacktop to another every few feet making it an annoying approach. Our site was at the far end of the park and it was quite level, roomy and sandy. The W/E/Cable hookups were fine. There are no sewer sites. WI-FI hot spot is at the office, which is a long way from these sites. At the time of our visits there were ants all over the ground and hook-ups.

Site: #80, pull thru - 50/30amp full hookups, limited cable TV, Wi-fi Included old wheel fire pit and picnic table Review: What a nice park, hidden in the woods just a mile off the interstate, alot of trees, with alot of shade. The park appeared very clean, easy to navigate with part of the roads paved and parts of them still gravel (they were paving another section as we left Monday). They had morning trash pick up at each site and the dumpsters were outside the park area, so no foul smells anywhere. I do feel there could have been some landscaping done to make the place look a little better, new mulch, weed eating, some trees trimmed, etc etc. But it is the beginning of the season so I'm sure they'll be working on it. The park amenities seemed on par with what you would expect, 2 play areas for those with kids, an enclosed dog park, swimming pool (they seemed to be getting ready), and very clean restrooms. Our site included cable TV, limited with about 20 channels, Wi-fi, we did have some connectivity issues but overall it worked well. There is a game room and pavilion which we didnt check out but will on any return visits. Our site itself was on the backside of the park behind the office/store, a pull thru site that was level from side to side but I did have to raise the tongue to level from front to back, nothing extreme though. The utilities were well placed, everything was within 6-8' of where I parked. There was plenty of space for both slide outs without having to navigate any trees. The park power was very consistent on the volt meter with little to no fluctuation, water pressure was good and steady, no problems showering. The door side was very roomy, plenty of space to fully extend the awning, build a fire and grill. Overall we had a great time, I love spending time with my wife on these trips, sooooo relaxing to get away from "life", we loved the shade from the trees, it was mostly quiet and we had good weather, afternoon showers two of the nights but we both...

Overpriced for what they provide. Original price we reserved for a so-called "super site" was not honored when we arrived. We were told it was mistake. We didn't see any sites we would consider "super"anyway. Lots of construction truck traffic. Our pull-through site was so unlevel. The front wheels of the rig were off the ground. Our 34' rig plus tow vehicle took up every inch of the site. We ended up unhooking and backing up the rig to be on the cement pad and parking the car in front. I just noticed rigs up on the hill and figured we were in the right place. It's very far off the road so there's no truck noise...also no cable, no dumpster, no picnic tables and no amenities.
Park is big rig friendly. Pay at fee station, or you can reserve online. Camp host was helpful in recommending site for us. Some sites do have an incline or are sloped slightly to one side. You should arrive at this park with water tank filled and grey/black tanks empty, as there are no hookups. There are vault toilets, but no showers. There are water faucets throughout the park where you can get small amounts of water, but you're not supposed to hook up your water hose to the faucets. The water for the park has to be brought in from several miles away. Verizon service worked well here. There are trails throughout the park. We saw elk very near our site. This park is approximately 4 miles from the Grand Canyon fee entrance, so it's a great alternative to the pricier full service campgrounds near or in the Grand Canyon park if you can boondock for a few days.
We stayed eight days at this park. Rate listed is based on weekly rate and includes tax. The last night, we paid the full rate of $37.91. In the interest of customer relations, if someone pays for a week and then decides to extend for another night, why not just have them pay based on the weekly rate? That aside, we enjoyed our stay at this park. The office attendant and the owners were friendly and helpful. They offer dogsitting services. As others have mentioned, they also offer a continental breakfast each morning, which is a nice touch. We weren't bothered at all by the trains passing by; we rather enjoyed watching for them each day. Park internet worked well. There is a large field at one end of the park where you can easily walk your dog. Park is big rig friendly.
Price does not reflect reservation fee, which I believe was $5. Rangers offered suggestions regarding restaurants and things to do in the area. Park is big rig friendly. While we enjoyed our stay at this park, first appearances were that it was a bit unkempt, because of lots of tall grasses. Water and electric are at the sites, and a dump station is available near the entrance/exit of the park. Restrooms and showers were clean and heated. As with most state parks, sites are nicely spaced. Lots of trails nearby for hiking or walking dogs, and lots of geocaches in the area.
Rate based on monthly stay, but does not include taxes or electric. Great park, and it's huge. There are many activities to keep one busy, especially during snowbird season. Park is big rig friendly. Most sites are gravel and back-ins, but there are sites along the perimeter of the park that are paved pull-throughs. All sites have a picnic table and concrete patio. Park is divided into pet and non-pet sections. There are lots of park models. There is a fenced area for dogs, as well as an agility course. Park internet was okay. Verizon slowed at peak times. There are at least two laundry facilities and they are cleaned several times per day. There's a clothes line if you prefer to hang your clothes to dry. As a few others have mentioned, this park is located close to Tucson International Airport and Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Therefore, there is some air traffic noise occasionally. We'll definitely return to this park. Check out the park's website for all they have to offer.

Rate reflects Passport America. Great park, and it's huge. There are many signs of all sizes along Main Street, so it's easy to miss the sign and driveway for Mesa Spirit. However, there are several places to turn around if you happen to pass the park. The park is big rig friendly and there was an escort to the site. While we didn't participate in any of the activities, the calendar we were given upon check-in was full of activities to keep one busy. I believe most sites are concrete. Hookups are at the rear of the site. Didn't check out laundry or shower facilities. Both Sprint and Verizon service worked well. We'll return to this park when passing through Mesa.

This is a nice park with a friendly and helpful staff. I was guided to my site and helped with parking, which was great since my wife was not with me to assist. Trees are plentiful and trimmed well so as not to scrape tall RVs. Roads into the park are paved, then access to the sites and the sites themselves are gravel. The pool is very well maintained, and the bathrooms are nice and sparkling clean. The showers are clean with lots of pressure on adjustable heads, and they have holders for soap and shampoo - yay! The laundry room is small but clean, with 3 washers and 3 dryers. There is a short walking trail around the western border of the park. Noise from I-85 is minimal and the park is generally quiet. Sites are spaced well enough apart, but I must disagree with the reviewer who said they are mostly level. Many are not level enough to easily level up in a motorhome without additional lumber. Each site has a picnic table, no fire pits. There are a lot of shopping and restaurant opportunities within 5 miles of this park. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a newer, small park in a semi industrial area easy walking distance from downtown. In fact, the area is better than most RV parks, and pleasantly quiet. Pads and interior roads are paved asphalt. I noticed that everybody in the park used more than one leveling block. The park looks flat but actually has a fair amount of slope. The guy across from us moved to a different spot since he was unable to level his 30 foot class C. We used two lego style blocks on our truck camper. The parks is big rig friendly. Hookups are solid and well located. Although we didn't care for the fresh water hookups. We found the knobs hard to turn, and too close to the pipe to get a grip. The pads are back to back, and "pull-thru" when the park is mostly empty. If the park is full, then your spot is a back in --- not a problem since the roads are wide and unobstructed. The bathrooms and showers were near new and very, very clean --- plenty of hot water. There is a laundry room and rec room that we didn't use. There are no fire pits, a plus for us. With more amenities (pool, hot tub, etc.), this park would be an easy 9 or 10.

Campground is right on the river. Roads and pads are paved. Our rig leveled easy enough with 4 Lego style blocks. Park allows fires and our neighbors kindly shared some of their smoke with us. There is an excellent Nature Center located at the entrance. Walking down to it, we saw an amazing assortment of wildlife: a beaver, muskrat, raccoon, ducks, geese, and osprey. There is a paved bike path that parallels the river right into town. The showers work on push buttons rather than knobs. Since we camped on a cold wet day, we skipped the showers since we couldn't tell if the showers were hot or not. We would camp here again, and did.

Rate is a weekday rate plus Good Sams discount. This is a very nice park - probably one of the nicest we've stayed at in 2+ years of full-time RVing. Sites were raked, curbed, and have hedges between. Showers were immaculate. Pool & hot tub all functional, clean, and well-done. Location is awesome for visiting Long Beach. We would have extended another night but the spot was booked. Our Verizon 3G aircard hooked up well here. Listen for the Queen Mary's horn sounding on the hour and watch the Pelicans feeding in the bay next to the park.

Stayed here off and on for several years but the park is getting very run down. Grass growing up in concrete, very poor landscaping, etc. Looks as if it is not being maintained. Casino comps are so tight they squeak. We stayed here five nights and still did not have enough comps to pay for a buffet or one night in the park even though we spent $$$$$. Last day we pulled out of the way into remote parking. Security came and advised us they would knock on the door hourly until we left. My wife was at the casino and I had to find her and leave the parking lot. Looks like they do not want our business and we will not be back.

This is our second time here. Rated an 8 both times. Last time we had a 38 foot diesel pusher; this time we camped in a small truck camper. The park is right on the Spokane River directly across from Coeur d'Alene. They had comfortable chairs right on the beach for your use and enjoyment. There are no fire pits. I don't think they allow fires. It is an easy 2 mile walk to downtown if you don't mind crossing the Highway 95 bridge. The park's roads are mostly paved. The parking pads are gravel and near level. Each has a little grass and a picnic table. The hookups were reliable and well-situated. We used 4 Lego style leveling blocks to level our rig. The bathrooms and showers are individual units that are near new, and very clean, and in excellent condition --- one the the best bath and showers we have seen in a while. There is a new, fenced, gravel, dog area. WiFi was solid and surprisingly fast. Although the park was next to a highway, traffic noise was more of a rumble than a roar. We would camp here again, and have.

Would have rated this campground except for the entrance road going into the park. Impassable, asphalt torn up, straight down and up a very steep hill. Once you get into the park it is just okay. A few pull through sites, but interior roads need repair, no cable, and trash has to be taken to one location. Would have rated it lower, had it not been for the new owners. They are trying very hard to make a go of this park. Will camp here again since it is the only campground convenient to Greenville, SC. where we visit relatives once a year that is acceptable.

The only reason I wouldn't give this a 10 is because the Wi-Fi is worse this year than last year when we stayed here. It really is a joke. There is a pay Wi-Fi available that is pretty good and pretty reasonable - it is called NOW. We stayed in the "Point Sites" area in #327. It is not rated as a view site but if the rig to the water side of you is small or positioned back far enough and you pull your rig up to the front you will have a very nice view. The location is great for walking into town or on the beach. It does get quite windy here and there is no protection from it. There are no trees. The sewer hook ups are at a weird angle so they require some propping to get a flow going. The showers are 25 cents for 1.5 minutes (not the 3 minutes in the previous review.) All in all it is a great place to stay to explore the area but not really to just hang out in. The staff is very nice but I think they are training some new people because we talked to a couple who's reservation got double booked and when we checked in they applied my payment to someone who was coming into the same site the following week. They figured it out and let me know. That was OK. Again - I would recommend this park if you want to see Port Townsend and the surrounding area.

Park is very tight for large rig and lots of long-termers. We would not stay here again. Incidentally, the park is for sale.

Very, very tight backing into one of the transient spots with a 40' Class A - I always needed help as the residents park their cars in the street in front of you. Nothing wrong with the site.
This a beautiful park. It's almost like camping on a high-end golf course. Beautiful lawns at each site, with huge trees for shade. We were in the upper loop, so had an expansive view of the basin and the Snake River. Restrooms were spotless, even though the upper loop was pretty full. The Pioneer Museum in the park is very interesting. We'll stay here again.

This park is literally on the border but quite convenient to Vancouver. It is very well maintained. It has a nice indoor pool and is close to restaurants and other conveniences. Sites are narrow, some more so than others, but all have a bit of a grassy area and picnic table. One word of caution; you must have a water pressure regulator or you will have water problems.
This campground is pretty much run down, but with a little work it could be nice once again. The entrance to the park is very deceiving. Once in the park, you...ll find interior roads full of potholes and in need of serious attention. The door to one of the only two women...s showers will not close or lock. The rules are pretty much non-existent. People do not pick up after their dogs. There are many permanent residents, and they do not maintain their sites. The only time we saw anybody that worked here was when we checked in. I would suggest that you look for another campground if you are planning to come to this area.

This is very nice state park with all of the amenities other than cable and wi-fi, and who needs it when going camping anyhow. The entire site is paved; the parking sites are large and with plenty of space between sites for privacy. Sewer connections only on sites 1 to 59. They warned us about thefts at the park when we arrived. We did not pay attention as we have traveled for 30 years and have never had anything stolen. Guess what? The bicycle was locked but they took the seat and stem! 100 bucks down the drain for some idiot's pleasure to remove the seat and leave us looking for one at the next city. Shame on you.
All the older comments are still correct. I had the back-up the hill site along the road going to the back facing the river with the utilities on the wrong side, you need to run everything under the coach to hook-up. Staff was friendly. Access in and out was OK. 5th Wheels were backing up the hill even further past me twisting and turning; if you're good with backing it's not a problem. Noise from the road outside the park is constant, even if you're all the way in the back. The park is really close to everything you need including all the big box type stores as well as Jerome and Sedona. While in the area I saw other parks that I will try that next time.
Overall, we quite enjoyed this park. The roads and sites are wide, though the sites could use some levelling. No problem setting up a dining tent, which was a requirement. They don't tell you about the swarms of Mayflies. Maybe it's just at this time of the year. They don't bite, but they are a pest. Grandkids had a ball on the bouncer. This was opening weekend, and perhaps that's why the grass seriously needed cutting. This park has the potential to be world-class.
Rate based on weekly rate of $160, taxes included. That rate went up to $175 during our stay. We had a 50 amp gravel / stone pull through full hookups with cable and Wi-Fi that was on the slow side. Most sites are level and and vary quite a bit in size. This park is not big rig friendly, 40' max. It can be tight, but a few sites work. The cable lineup is pretty good, 24 stations in all. We picked this park for the cable. It is also walking distance to the Historic Downtown area. While we had no problems here, there is a lot of foot traffic on 13th street. There is a foot bridge that crosses the creek near the back corner of the RV Park. That area is not the best and you may see some 'homeless types' passing by. In fact my wife even asked if there was a homeless shelter back there. One afternoon, a car pulled up 13th and a women hopped out, looked around and then squatted and urinated 50' from us! Dogs barking all night long, but not real close.
We stayed here for 12 days in a 43 foot motorhome. Our first site was down near the club house. I did not like it at all, first off our satellite dish was hitting a tree, second there was a slight gradient when we stepped out of our RV and after a good rain, it turned to mud, Our RV was a mess after two days, Also the sites are very close, too close for my own comfort. I asked to be moved to the top of the hill and we did - or us it was like a whole new camp ground, more space, quite from the road, lots of sun, open sky for our dish. I was very satisfied with our new site B7. And for this reason we stayed for an additional 5 days. The campground is very well kept, very clean. The rest rooms, club house and laundry rooms are excellent. The fitness room, although better than most campgrounds because most have none, could be larger and have more and better equipment. The manager whom I have forgotten his name was also very friendly and helpful, always cheer full as was the men working around the grounds. The ladies in the office - not quite so much. They may need a little hospitality training. For such a nice campground in a metropolitan area, I was surprised they did not have a security gate, although it was not needed. I walked and jogged a lot and there is the Jefferson County trails not far from the campground. Also, the new train is a short walk or drive from here, 2 bucks gets you into Denver with free parking. THIS CAMPGROUND WILL NOT ACCEPT MAIL OR PACKAGES on behalf of its guest under any circumstance, hard and firm, not exceptions. They charge you $15 to wash your RV, just a bit high, but I was happy to be able to to it at all, lots of campgrounds will not let you at all. I would rather be able to pay and do it than not.

Great bike trails, and lake for canoeing. Avoid site 98,99,100 - low and watery if rains. Look for sites that are not with the tent crowd if you want less activity. We were in 37' 5th wheel, some areas very tight, be picky about where you stay. They change the gate codes on Tuesdays and may not mention this until you get to the gate.
Super park for dogs. There is a large dog park area. The springs are dog friendly,. We are in a 37' RV so stayed in new area. You must be very small to stay in the tree area. Great bike trails. It s a Suwanee river trail location, so great access for canoe and kayak entry and exit, It will be perfect in 10 years when trees in new area are bigger. 20 miles from a store, so be sure and get groceries before you arrive. You can purchase ice on site. Restaurant open on weekends only. Will return in fall. It was too hot in summer for us.

This was our 3rd time staying here (last time was 5 years ago). Back then, I thought the park was pretty nice. This time, I was very disappointed for several reasons. I was never informed while registering that the pool and hot tub were not available. Also, I was not told that the site I was assigned to would not have acceptable Wi-Fi. We finally got a site that was claimed to be a primo one for receiving Wi-Fi internet but in reality it was so bad that I gave up trying to use it and resorted to using my iPhone to tether my laptop. This park has only one internet connection with Comcast and that's supposed to service all 130 sites which is ridiculous. When their Wi-Fi did work, I ran a speed test and found the download speeds were less than dial-up speeds. Another sore point, besides no pool or spa, their exercise equipment is located in their meeting room where people sit and relax, reading books or trying to converse. My wife tried using their bottom-line quality elliptical which was so noisy and decrepit that she quit within a few seconds out of respect for others who were trying to read or communicate with each other. I won't even mention the poor layout of the sites and how crazy it is to get a rig parked and then try to find a place to park the towed (that's been discussed before by others). A park that charges this much and then has marginal to non-existent Wi-Fi and has not updated anything that I could determine in at least the last 5 years will not be seeing me return ever again.

Great park with many sites. Lots of room between sites. Big Rig friendly. Speed through the park is a problem as there is no enforcement. Be cautious if you have small children. We encountered fire ants and stickers that bothered the dog. All in all though, it's a wonderful park. The park pool closes at dusk but the hotel pool/spa is open until 10pm and is heated. Verizon was strong 5bars/3g with ATT also at 4 bars/4g. We will stay here again. Rate reflects cost after discounts from the casino.

This was my first time at this park and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of every aspect of the park. The sites are all pull-through which made it really nice for us since I did not want to unhook our towed. The area where you park the RV is gravel, but was nice and level without having to use any jacks to level the motor home. Plus, I had no problem getting a clear line of site to be able to use my Winegard Carryout to receive Dish. The Wi-Fi quality and speed was excellent. The individual bathrooms with showers was a real surprise and very clean. They even had nice terry cloth bath mats available for no extra charge. We were greeted by the friendliest staff you will ever find and escorted to our site. I even received a discount because of my retired military status. I've stayed at quite a few parks in the past 20 years, but this one rates at the very top in every way. We will definitely return to this great RV park.

Seems like a low-margin enterprise just getting by. Staff was nice enough - even with a couple of wise-cracking Americans. Level sites, paved with gravel / trees / privacy panels between. Sewer at ground level. Water good. Got 5 TV channels (Public TV / Regina / Local). WiFi signal is strong, and they used good equipment for repeaters. Road noise not really noticeable. Nice town. Flying-J just north and west. This is a good place for an over-night or two. Plenty of working folks in the park, but it's pretty tidy. Only real gripe was the showers. If you have one in your camper, there's likely more room in yours than in theirs. Re-purposed toilet-stall partitions make for four separate barely 2'x2' showers with 2'x3' dressing area. Partitions are broken/fallen / broken latches, etc. Take your flip-flops. If you're there in a tent, you're grateful, if you're there in a camper, it's "why don't I just dump tanks in the morning?" If we're through here in the future, we'd stay again, since it's not 200 yards off the highway and in town (behind Oasis truck stop).

Wednesday, May 22 ... Homolovi State Park, Winslow, AZ: This is an Arizona state park right off interstate 40 in the northeastern part of the state. The park which was supported by the Hopi people was established in 1896 and opened in 1993. It serves as a center of research for the late migration period of the Hopi from the 1200...s to the late 1300...s. There is not much for shade in the campground that has two loops and 53 sites. Most sites have water and electric and cost $25. There are showers that were clean, hot, and easy to use. There are hiking trails and interpretive exhibits at the Visitor Center. This was an overnight stop for us, and we enjoyed it, but in the afternoon Arizona was getting high winds east of Flagstaff of up to 46 miles per hour, and it was in the high 90...s. It was hard to walk on some of the trails because of the gusts of wind. One can drive to Homolovi I and Homolovi II ruins and then walk a very short trail to see the ruins of Pueblos that were ancestors of the present day Hopi people. The park is at an elevation of 4,900 feet and has 4,00 acres, it seems you can see for miles. The term ...Homolovi... is Hopi for ...Place of the Little Hills.... There are over 300 archaeological sites identified within the park. Good stopover or for a longer stay.

Very nice resort. Level sites, great Wi-Fi convenient to the strip, quit and secure. We stayed here for a week, they were offering a special weekly rate. The pool is in the process of being re-coated. Like most parks in this area there is next to no grass. The pet park has a fine gravel that is easy on the paws and easy to clean-up. I would say one of the best amenities is the private bathrooms with showers. I don't normally use the facility shower but these were exceptional. We stayed here in a 5th wheel, plenty of room in the pull-through. We would stay here again.

We camped several nights here while seeing Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP. We wanted to be on the North side of the two parks and were very happy here. Downsides were limited selection of sites for our 40' fifth wheel and most sites are not level in either direction. That being said, we loved being in the park and were happy to dry camp in order to do so. This was the only one of three NPS campgrounds that were open when we were there since it was early season.

After reading many of the reviews posted, I was not sure how our stay might go. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. The grounds are clean and well kept. During our stay, the staff has been busy keeping everything clean, painting, planting flowers, etc. Some of the sites are more level than others, but none are so bad you cannot level your rig with the normal items you should be carrying. Each site is separated by a natural area of plants/trees. On some sites this does limit the patio area. WIFI is good, cable is OK with limited channels. Bathhouses are older but clean. The far end of the campground appears to have a fair number of permanent sites but most were not occupied. Those that were are mostly out of sight. At check-in, I was quoted a different rate than what I had booked at. I had my conformation with price and staff corrected, so no problem. The one real negative would be the foul mouth of one of the workers. On more than one occasion he could be heard dropping "F" bombs and really did not seem to care who heard it. Would I stay again? Yes.

Rate is based on national senior discount pass. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful park settings we have ever seen. Would have given it a 10 if they provided Wi-Fi. As it is such a remote location, it really should be provided. Very clean park at the foot of the Fall River Lake dam. There are 2 separate camping areas separated by a small bridge. There is a 9 ton limit on the bridge, so best to check with the project office as to which way you should come into the park (if you...re a big rig). You might have to travel about 1 mile on hard packed dirt road to get to FHU area. On one side is the full hook up sites with 50 amp; the other is mostly 30Amp / water and in some cases just water. Electric stays on, stead;, water pressure is good. Nice bathhouse on FHU side. Everything cared for by visible and friendly volunteer camp hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the park and surrnouding area. Wi-Fi is very iffy here. Our Verizon card service was off and on. Phone service is normally OK, but it also had its moments. No over the air TV available at all; don...t know about satellite but park is heavily wooded with trees. There is a small rally area, with a covered pavilion which would be fine for small gatherings. Each site has a prep table, picnic table, grill and fire ring. Some sites are ...doubles... which are nice and wide. Rules appear to be enforced, and there are 2 playgrounds within the park. There is fishing from the bank of river at the dam without leaving park. Boat launch is nearby. For peace, quiet, relaxing, and bird watching this park cannot be beat. We will visit here again.

Ok - we rated this as high as we did because of the condition of the bathrooms / showers, and the friendly staff in the office. Otherwise, it is what it is - a city park. A water hydrant in the middle of the circle, and 30A electric on the posts. Heavy-duty picnic tables. Adjacent to the worlds largest (Ukranian) Easter-Egg. Lush grass covers the dirt sites, and if you don't have jacks or dunnage, you're likely to be off-kilter. The grass also hides 23 bazillion mosquitoes - fortunately the wind blows a lot. They don't have waterfront sites, but they do have railroad-front sites - 15' off the rear of our coach. It's a good overnight stop - right off Route 16 on the east side of Vegreville. $19 was the age 55 discount.
Interesting place. It seems it is a membership campground with monthly spaces and regular spaces. It is getting a little run down but fairly nice. It could use a little sprucing up and grass mowing. Our site #96 was fairly down hill on setting up but as we had to unhook it was ok. If we were not unhooking for the night stay it would have been a pain. Whoever was in that spot before had a small dog that left a LOT of land mines that were not picked up. As my momma used to say watch where you step or you'll cut your foot. Bad dog owners!! It is 12 miles from the interstate and that adds to the $14 PA cost. I doubt I would stay here again.

A nice park located at the "bottom" of the bourbon trail. Sites are definitely not big rig friendly. A Jayco 24 ft trailer came in while I was there and used a power mover to get into the site. The surrounding area's attractions makes up for the difficulty in parking the rig. Most of the sites are unlevel either side to side or front to back, some more so than others. Using poi-factory.com data has the park on the wrong side of the street. Fee to dump. Wi-fi is good. IMHO, small A's, B's and C's are good to go. Trailers or 5th wheels, well, good luck in getting a friendly site.

Very large spaces with decent spacing and turning radius when backing into the back in sites. A friendly lady who owns the park and registers guests. No escort to the site and wi-fi is not free or included. $4.95 for 24hours and $17.95 a week extra for Wi-Fi. Some road noise and many people have yappy dogs which they seem to think is cute. We had our own Verizon air card, so can not comment on the quality of paid Wi-Fi. Verizon seemed to have a strong signal from this park while other carriers were not as dependable. Good cable TV, strong water pressure, and good electrical power. My price reflects a longer term stay, as there are many long term rigs in this park.

Very nice park. Lots of shade and lots of grass. The owner checked me in and was very friendly. I called for a reservation and when I checked in I was greeted by name. I am not sure how she did that, but WOW! The only downside to this park is that my GPS tried to take me through town. Good thing that the owner told me not to take the bypass. Could have been a problem. I would highly recommend this park.

As has been stated in other reviews, this is an "OK" park for an overnight. All sites are gravel. The day that we were it had been raining, and the entire park was muddy and wet gravel. There was no one at the park when we went to check in. The sign asked us to pick a site and put our money in an envelope. It is the only park within several miles of Chadron. When I called for a reservation, whoever answered the phone didn't have a clue about the park. I asked if there was a pull through available as I have a 45' coach and was towing. I didn't want to unhook. She told me that someone would have to call me back. I never got a call back. If you want to pay with a credit card, you have to find a hardware store in town for them to run your card.

After 4 months of travel, this park was one of our favorites. Nice, well-shaded, gravel spots with lush grass around them, DirectTV, good sized spaces that are quiet in a relatively small RV park and a play area for our kids that is tucked away so as not to disturb other campers. Pet friendly. The only downsides were no fire pits (each site does have charcoal BBQ setup) and being about 14 miles from the West entrance to Yosemite. Wish we were closer. However, considering the benefits of the place and the very friendly staff, we'd be pleased to stay here again for our trips into the valley since our rig is too big to go down there.

We had a pull-through in the newest section of the park. No trees to interfere with satellite. Sewer at both the back of the site for fifth wheels and center for motorhomes, so these are actually user friendly for all. At first I thought it was our automatic leveling system acting up, but I noted a few others with at least one wheel off the ground to achieve level. Having to use blocks to get level with all wheels grounded really surprised me at a park of this caliber. These new sites are long concrete pads serviced by asphalt interior roads. Most of the sites in the older section appear to have much shorter concrete pads, still with asphalt interior roads. Also lots of nice trees. Some of the back older sites are gravel pads. This very nice park's proximity to I-40 does mean you'll have some noise. Wi-Fi was not dependable at our site. Our price reflected a ''pay for 2 stay for 3" rate. At the end of the fourth day, I was uncomfortable traveling with the next day's wind prediction so we asked to have our site another day. Not only could we, but were told the discount rate would continue for the next 3 days if we cared to stay. I thought that was very generous.

Nice little park across from Graceland and behind the Heartbreak Hotel. Plenty of room for our 42' coach and other larger coaches on level gravel sites. Not a fancy park but conveniently located south of Memphis. The staff was VERY helpful in informing us about all of the tours in the area. The bus picked us up right and dropped us off right at our site. They provide discounts at a local restaurant. The restaurant sends a limo to pick you up right at your sight -- in a "pink" Cadillac.
Nice park on the side of a hill. Of course nothing is level in Branson. That said, don't be detered! This is a gem of a destination. The campground has scenic overlooks and the cement runners for your wheels are pretty level. No problems. Hook ups were nicely place and the cable was extensive for a campground. It is nice to be greeted by an awaiting staff member as you pull in. Never seen this before. They escort you to your site and even came back to trim a couple of branches that were touching our slide out. We would definitely return here and recommend. Big Rig friendly for rigs up to 45 footers. They have a company that details RVs in the area too. Nice touch that we look for. Although we didn't go for the free pancake breakfasts, it's a nice touch.

Large park right along Music Boulevard and immediately next door to Camping World. Very long pull through sites available, most are fairly level. Several were being repaved as they were too off level for auto leveling. We had to make several unsuccessful attempts and ended up moving to another site where we leveled on first try. MUCH to do in the area. Staff was a little slow to respond to one of our needs but eventually did. We would stay here again when in Nashville. The convention center is absolutely a must see offering great places to shop and dine.
We loved this well kept, smaller campground. No trouble for our 42' coach on a nice wide cement pad. Hook ups located just right. Site nice and level and landscaped nicely. There are only a few large sites for big rigs. Owners take great pride and make a point to introduce themselves to see if all is OK. Gatlinburg is a wonderful clean city with unique shopping and close to Pigeon Forge, where we had a dinner show at one of the many places along the strip. A lot like Branson, MO. Paved roads, level gravel sites, many trees, wonderful people in the office, owner who takes a "hands-on" approach to making sure everything is done correctly, pool (didn't use, not open yet), hot tub that was, very clean restrooms and showers. It was quiet as it has one of the most attractive Mobile Home Parks I have ever seen in front, a golf course in the back and not much on either side. Birds are the only thing that will wake you up in the morning.
This is the best park in Santa Rosa, but that isn't saying too much. Very basic. Apparently you pay separately for each amenity. We chose not to have sewer or cable, since only being here one night. Our receipt showed 20.50 for space and 10.95 for 50 amp. That was with a Good Sam discount. A previous reviewer mentioned the slow Wi-Fi. Slow is an understatement. Connections says 54 mb, but most sites will not load and the park is only about 1/4 occupied. The pet area is an unused space and has not been cleaned up from uncourteous campers who did not clean after their pet. Will try not to have to stop in Santa Rosa again.

This is a large, older RV park, heavily treed and quite charming. The staff is helpful, the sites are attractive and well maintained, and it is near Amador County's many fine wineries. Our permanent home is 25 miles away, and we use this RV park to store our rig (which is too large for our mountain home's narrow and steep driveway).
This is one of the strangest parks we have camped in, but for us it was perfect. We go to Nashville to go out to the music venues and not to hang around the RV park. We have stayed in nicer places (Seven Points, Cedar Creek, and Nashville Country) but none were as convenient to our haunts downtown and the Station Inn and Bluebird Cafe. It was two miles to lower Broadway and less than a mile to 3rd and Lindsley and Douglas Corner. We were almost by ourselves the whole time, maybe five other RVs at the most. It is basically one strip of the parking area around the fairgrounds, about 100 yards from the motor speedway track and a similar distance to the agricultural buildings of the fair. The sites are up on a little hill and you can actually watch the cars race if you pick the end space (we did). It is very quiet and we felt safe here because the sites are so visible to the streets below. To be sure it is primitive and not beautiful, but it has full hook ups, a great location and quiet. We had to cover our bedroom vent because the street light was right above us and very bright. Next trip to Nashville we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
