Kate and Mitchell were married the last weekend of July at Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Colleyville, Texas. This intro image was actually shot after the ceremony. Backtracking a bit, I started shooting with Kate and her bridesmaids at the church.


I’m pretty sure you can see this bling from a mile away.





This was the most interesting church I’ve shot in this year. It is very contemporary, with wrap-around seating.


The homily was about the pursuit of perfection. Get it?

Mitchell wanted a groom’s cake but didn’t want to go the usual alma mater route (Texas Tech), so he opted for this fun Seinfeld cake.

The afternoon reception was at the Trophy Club Country Club. I really love the decorations and abundance of light.

Right after making their grand entrance, they had their first dance.



The dance floor was packed for the whole reception.






Kate and Mitchell make their escape. Someone decided to create a “soccer tunnel,” and the rest of the guests went for it. I approve!

Thanks for bringing me out, Kate and Mitchell. It was a lot of fun!

These photos will give you an idea of how beautiful Kaylen’s dress and family home are.

Originally Kaylen and Pete weren’t planning to see each other before the ceremony. But because of the church’s layout, it was going to be difficult to keep them apart and away from the guests. So they decided to do a quick first look outside of Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. I’m biased, but I think it turned out well.

Without prompting from me or seeing what the other had done, these two attendants both posed this way for their fun photo with the bride and groom.




After finishing up in Tower Grove Park, we headed to Ted Drewes, which was a welcome break from the heat. The wedding party did a spontaneous ice cream toast.


We did a few group photos downtown before heading to the reception. This is one of my favorite wedding party photos of the year!






The reception was at Windows on Washington. Check out this seating chart Kaylen and Pete made!

From the moment I joined the bridesmaids in the morning to saying goodbye at the reception, there was one adjective to describe the day: fun! Scroll through the images below, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Biz taught me a new wedding day phrase: cute meet. We arranged for one in the lobby of the Chase Park so that we could get photos of the two of them before the ceremony.


We shot a few photos inside the Chase Park Plaza before venturing outside.







We finished up our photo shoot and headed to The Hill for the ceremony at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Check out her bouquet!

After the ceremony, Biz and Phil went Milo’s Bocce Garden across the street with their wedding party.


After the stint at Milo’s, we made it back to the Central West End for a few more photos.


How awesome is this cake topper?? Phil is a former football player, if you can believe that!

Being summer in St. Louis, the weather was predictably unpredictable. For the first half of the day,  it was pack-your-mini-fan hot. Later in the day a storm materialized, threatened to rain, and moved on in the course of an hour. I’ll start with an intro photo and then wind back the clock an hour or two to catch some of the getting ready process.

It was a warm day, but Karen was ready for it.

They had their first look at Tilles Park.

Time for the ceremony at The Rock Church on Manchester.

After the ceremony, we were planning to head back to Tilles Park to shoot some wedding party photos. Unfortunately, some very menacing-looking clouds were rolling into town, so we opted to shoot a few photos in the median next to the church instead of risk being rained out entirely.

Before long it was time for the reception, complete with toasts from the wedding party.
