Ever since I’ve started this website I’ve struggled to find a true branding logo that represents me. At first I was using that old card logo that still floats around in a few places, and the next year at the dawn of the website’s redesign using Standard Theme — that is still being completed as of now — I decided to take a new approach, and scrap the encasement, but keep the same typeface. But since I feel that a strong brand for a personal blog is so important, I felt it was time for another change.

As a designer myself I feel that our rebranding (see above logo) matches up to the new changes that have been done to Gap, and MySpace. All of the previously mentioned, absolutely great designs that had little thought put into them, and the best part is that they saved these companies millions by just not hiring designers, and marketers.

Just add a sapce, or a square, and BAM! You got yourself a new logo.

How was that making me go insane? Well, not only was I not paid, but I was forced to listen to Fox News radio ALL FUCKING DAY. This alone probably should of made me go crazy even if I was getting paid, but oddly enough I was able to survive. Not only was this bad, but during the commercials Glenn Beck had to come on telling us that we  HAD TO BUY GOLD or else we’d lose everything as the value of the dollar is decreasing, and all the bull shit. I did what most sensible people do and just ignored it as best as possible.

Fast forward to August 3rd, 2010. I’ve been doing a lot of trolling in the past few hours on Sarah Palin’s Facbook page. In the process I came across Glenn Beck’s, and that led me to the following infographic that displays the true nature of this douche’s gold scheme. Observe:

This may be the third dumbest thing that I’ve ever seen on Ebay — first being the state of West Virginia, and second being someone’s eternal soul in a jar — a “modded” Xbox 360 Elite with red lights. This can’t the red ring of death people, this has to be the REAL DEAL! Hell, it even currently selling for a mere $35, and $8 shipping and handling with only 1 bid. How the hell could you pass this up?

The Galactic Empire categorically and emphatically denies Lord Vader’s involvement in the alleged robbery and quite frankly, we find these allegations offensive. Several reliable witnesses can confirm that at the time of the robbery, Darth Vader was busy brutally murdering a Jedi cell in a galaxy far, far away.

It is clear from the alleged bank robber’s attire alone that he is not the real Darth Vader. Everyone knows that Lord Vader dresses exclusively in slimming black, whilst the robber’s cloak is blue. Not to mention the camouflage pants, which are an absolute fashion faux pas, as they do not compliment Vader’s stylish chest respirator in any way.

Keen observers may also notice a distinct lack of Darth Vader’s trademark lightsaber-related dismemberment or death in the footage. Darth Vader has not, and would never, use a pistol. His cyborg fingers are far too fat to fit inside the trigger guard.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to point out to the intellectually challenged citizens of Earth that accusing a magically-powered cyborg killing machine who lives in a moon-sized laser capable of destroying your planet may be extremely injurious to your health.

So it appears that my accusations of this being the REAL dark lord were false. I believed that Vader was laid off from his normal employment by the Emperor. As this is not the case, I would like to formally apologize to him for my wrong doings. I still am a follower of the Light Side of the Force, but I still would like to stay on Vader’s good side… or bad/dark side. Whatever he wants to call it.

It looks like even the dark lord of the Sith is suffering from the horrible effects of this economic downturn. Darth Vader was spotted in a Long Island, New York bank on Thursday. Vader was caught on camera holding a teller at gunpoint, and escaping, cash in hand. Why he was using a gun, and not his light saber is up to speculation.

Neither Darth Vader, or his employer Darth Sidious  have been questioned yet, but from the looks of it, Vader is struggling pretty bad.

As you can tell in this photo, Vader is wearing a less than threatening attire, camouflage pants, and no light saber. My guess is that he has been laid off from his job as Dark Lord of the Sith due to the economy, and had to turn in most of his uniform, which included his light saber.

Again, this is all up to speculation, but we may soon find out what is going on.

As I said in my last post, the Westboro Baptist Church was to be at Comic Con today to protest all things geeky. Well, they showed up, but were met with a slew of anti protesters. You gotta love the enthusiasm of us geeks. Thanks to a few people on Twitter [via TwitPic], these moments have been captured. Also according to Twitter, the hate group didn’t look too happy.

San Diego Comic Con kicks off today, and nerds everywhere are praying to almighty Thor that it’s going to be the best one yet… well, that’s what the smart people of the Westboro Baptist Church think. Because of this these guys will meet you at San Diego Comic Con opening day, at 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM. So a message to all you nerds, you’re gong to Hell!

In case you aren’t aware, the Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group, not a church as they are DOING IT WRONG! They hate gays, Jews, this country, and much more. They also enjoy protesting the funerals of fallen soldiers, and other shit like that. Their hatred is reflected in the name of their website, godhatesfags.com. Man, if anyone is going to Hell, it’s them…

Are you kidding?! If these people would spend even some of the energy that they spend on these comic books, reading the Bible, well no high hopes here. They have turned comic book characters into idols, and worship them they do! Yep, we geeks all pray to Batman, and Superman, as they are the creators of the universe. I unfortunately was not able to attend services at the Fist Church of Batman last week due to a schedule conflict, so I hope that the merciful Dark Knight can forgive me. You have to worship Batman guys, he sent his second side-kick, Jason Todd to die at the hands of the joker for our crimes.

If you are at Comic Con, and see them, do the world a favor, and find an army of Storm Troopers inside the convention hall, have them surround the protesters, and have them fire when ready.

I’m going to start off by saying that this may not work for everybody, may only work if you start this in the early period of your illness, and may go against most of the things you mother told you to do when you’re sick. But I still think it’s worth a shot. You’re going to have to forget the staying in bed all day, the cold medication, the sweating out toxins by just laying there, and all the other crap you’re “supposed” to do. This virus needs to die, and fast. Stick with this unorthodox regimen, and you’ll be fine in 3 Days.

1. Don’t be lazy, and get out of bed

The main mistake that people make when they are sick is that they stay in bed all day, and expect that someone else do everything for them, including wiping their ass. This is a horrible plan. You’re letting the cold get the better of you. You show that jerk who owns your body, and stay active. A little relaxation is still good, and will be needed later in the day, but for now, get up and…

2. Eat a normal breakfast (or brunch if you get up late like I do)

When you get out of bed, you’re probably going to be hungry. Most people would tell you to have a bowl of soup. Well that’s fine, but soup isn’t very filling now is it? You’re going to need something to go with that soup, and I suggest you eat something with some good protein in it, like bacon and eggs, or some kind of sandwich if it’s closer to lunch time when you get up. This will actually give you some strength so that you can go about a normal day.

3. Take your vitamins

This is something very important. Remember, we’re not taking any of that cold medication that you usually do. That’s just going to keep you drowsy and in bed. You need strength, so take your normal multi-vitamin, a vitamin C, and B¹² tablets. If you have none, go get them ASAP and take them.

4. Make some tea, also ginger is important too

Pretty much any tea will do you good. This stuff works wonders, and will help flush your system. If you have none, again, go get it ASAP. Another great drink you’re going to want is Ginger Ale. I understand that many people don’t just have that laying around, so It’s another thing to add to your shopping list for the day. Both the ginger, and the carbonation are going to help your sore throat. Another great thing would be to make ginger tea. You can get straight ginger root from your local herb shop. (I make a blend of green tea with ginger, and honey. It’s pretty good.) If you can’t find it then just mix the ginger ale with your tea.

5. Hock out all the mucus you can

This is one of those things that your mother told you not to ever do. Why? She just didn’t want to hear it. But if you’re older, and don’t live with your mom then just get that fucking mucus out of there. The mucus only causing you problems getting through your day, even though it’s supposed to helping with the expulsion of the virus. So when it starts to build up in your throat, just spit it out. It’s the same shit that’s coming out of your nose anyway.

6. Business as usual

This cold should not be getting the better of you, and by now aside from a slight sore throat, and stuffy nose you should be feeling pretty good. Just keep drinking that tea, or ginger ale, blowing your nose, and hocking loogies. Your daily routines should not come to an end. Get to work, and do what ever it is that you do unless it is too strenuous (EX: construction, or other physical labor). Either way, you need to keep active. Maybe exercise a little, or go for a little jog. Whatever you decide to do just keep active, but not TOO active.

7. Relax a little

You can’t keep moving all day. Just as doing business as usual, you still need rest no matter how you feel. Just chill out, watch some TV, or a movie, or hang with friends with good immune systems.

8. Have a beer

This may be the most unorthodox part of the routine, but just do it. You know you want one anyway. It’s the end of the day now, and you have  nothing else to do. You may even want to put a little whiskey in your tea if you can. The alcohol might just help you out. I don’t know how it helps with colds, but it really does. Trust me, I tried it, got a little drunk, and I felt really good for the rest of the night. Some have said that they have drank themselves stupid after having a cold for a while, and were feeling great the next day. Just don’t get so drunk that you’re going to be hung over, and you’ll be fine.

9. Get a good night’s sleep

At this point the only thing that is going to help you is a good night’s sleep. Get your eight hours in, and…

10. Repeat

In three days time of doing this, you should be feeling back to you’re 100%. Repeat these steps until you’re better. You might feel better even sooner. Who knows?

I was only able to follow all of these steps for a couple nights, so I’d say I’m currently at my 95%. The day is only half over though, and all I have left is a very minor sore throat. It would technically be day 4, but again, I didn’t follow these steps fully, and was still able to get better. So take my advice, and if you’re sick give it a try. If you feel it’s not working then do what you think is right for you, or better yet, alter these steps. Everybody is different, so do what you can to get well.
