Don’t forget Bristol is having a “Win What Ryan Wins” contest. If he sweeps the weekend, which will pay around $400,000, the contest winner gets the same amount. You can enter at the BMS website.

I think the technical alliance between Kevin and Rusty makes a lot of sense since they’ve lost their GM money. By working together, they should be able to accomplish more than they can separately.

I find it VERY odd! I am so not a fan of Rusty (of course) and even the sound of his voice annoys me! I was thinking about his NW programs with Rusty when they were talking about him wanting to come to SHR. I would think that KHI would blend, but not with Rusty’s involvement. It made me think that it was all just speculation.
I guess we are in for another Silly Season huh? I don’t think Tony would buy out any contract and don’t think he is going to get involved with anyone (Harvick or Kahne) that hasn’t completed the ones that they are in.
It is funny though to see everyone wanting an affiliation with SHR now! Last year people weren’t even sure if they would be a factor! :)

How about Harvick to the 12 Penske Dodge.
I think if anyone can buy the last year on Kevin’s contract it’s Roger Penske. He did for Kurt at Roush.
Also does anyone find it odd that Kevin and Rusty formed a partnership with their NW programs?

I believe the Danica to SHR makes more sense than the Harvick to SHR.

Tony getting a third team is inevitable. The question is – Who will it be? Personally I like a lot of the names that have been thrown around (not Danica). As far as Kevin getting out of his contract, I can understand his position. There is an opening on what is obviously going to continue to be a successful team and we wants to be part of it. He does seem like he would be a good fit with Tony and Ryan. I am indifferent about his leaving RCR. If an opportunity comes up you have to grab it. I personally am in a similar situation right now.

@Kimm – ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING makes more sense than Danica coming.

But it all makes so much more sense that Danika doesn’t it. I am not sure if he would be let out of his contract early or not….from what I ma hearing Shell has a contract thru 2010 (as does Kevin), so it might not happen this year. But I thing that he could sure bring something to the group. Another great fit with all of them being tight and all. Plus, his NW program.
I too am not sure if SHR is really ready for a 3rd team, but if it were to happen I would love to see Kevin in it.

Would LOVE to see Keving next year at SHR! They are all tight and it would be another perfect fit! Lots of attitude! I am going to cross my fingers on that one and I know that Tony is a smart man….. he knows what is right! I am hoping to get the chance to see Rick in victory lane with Ryan at the Brickyard! LOL! Heard on the radio this morning that Harvick’s contract is up soon – maybe after next year? I could see him being the 3rd SHR driver, as he, Ryan and Tony are all buds. If they’re going to do it next year i guess he’d have to get out of his RCR contract….not sure how doable that is….

@John no worries on the long posting. The more info the better. In fact if you write a post I will link to it. I am sure a whole lot of people are VERY interested in that exact relationship. And your right about that Tony Temper possibly resurfacing in that situation. How could I have almost forgot about the Tony Temper!

@carrie – I would just assume NOT see Danica any where near SHR.

@pattycake – I’m not to concerned about seeing Hendrick in victory lane with Newman. If he is GREAT! But I look at that more like Rick and Tony are team owners and Rick comes to congratulate Tony as a team owner especially with their “special” relationship. Ryan doesn’t really fit into that picture, but when Ryan wins, I bet Hendrick is in the background giving Tony congrats which is cool.

Haas Racing was affiliated with Hendrick from it’s beginning several years ago. Supposedly they got the same equipment as the Hendrick drivers got. The problem they had was that they didn’t have the right people in place to take advantage of the equipment.

Joe Carter convinced Gene Haas to GIVE Tony Stewart half the team, if he would come over and take over the operation. What Tony brought to the table was legitimacy, which brought sponsors, and the people knowledge he received from 10 years of training by Coach and JD Gibbs.

Where does Hendrick fit in the whole picture? He’s a vendor, leasing motors and selling chassis to Stewart-Haas. I think he shows up in victory lane to congratulate the team because he’s happy to see them successful. Once the chase starts, I doubt you’ll see him in victory lane congratulating Ryan Newman for beating HIS team.

Personally, I think if Hendrick attempted to force Tony somehow to take on Patrick as a third team we’d get another view of that long dormant Tony Stewart temper.

I expect to see Patrick driving for Team Penske in the IRL next year and in a few select NASCAR events, taking the route that Juan Pablo Montoya took.

Danica running a 3rd partial schedule car for SHR will be a much better idea.
This will give her the opportunity to become comfortable in stock cars.
I also heard that Kevin Harvick asked to released from RCR and Shell will be leaving RCR. So we may see Harvick at SHR.
How Ironic a year ago no one wanted to come to SHR now every driver wants in.
I am happy that Ryan took that chance.

I really think that Stewart-Haas is basically a satellite team for Rick Hendrick. If it keeps going, Hendrick will own all the teams!!! I saw an interview with Tony and he said that they do use Hendrick motors, but Hendrick uses Haas tools, machines, etc. to make those engines. I wish Newman would hurry up and win a race–it would be interesting to see if Rick Hendrick would show up in Victory Lane when Newman wins. Hopefully that will be very soon!! GO ROCKETMAN!!!!

I wonder sometime too just exactly what the “actual” involvement Rich has with the Stewart/Haas group. I notice that he is right there in victory lane for Tony’s wins…. just like he is when the 48,24 and the 5 are there. I would think that with the recent discussions that took place between Rich and Brad, that is where the concentration should be. Brad was all but promised a Hendrick ride prior to Martin extending. I also kind of was liking the rumor that Kasey Kahne’s contract is coming to an end and with him and Tony being so close….. well, that would put my daughter and I in the same camp! LOL! I think that is a MUCH better fit, And logical! I guess it is that time of year again. We will all just have to wait and see where the pieces fall! :)

@John – The thing that continues to worry me is my lack of understanding in the true relationship between Hendrick and Stewart. I have read countless times that Hendrick could but Danica with Stewart. I just don’t get that. Is it Tony’s team or not?

@Kimm – I know the interview your talking about and I agree. Tony didn’t sound interested. Back to the Hendrick thing. How much pressure COULD Rick put on Tony if he wanted to. And the Brad thing makes complete sense. That has been rumored as well. Danica maybe jumping in for a little show and to make the teams at INDY sweat a little.

And obviously I echo the sediments that Danica needs to stay far away from NASCAR and even further away from Stewart-Haas Racing. I also tend to believe that she is just playing the game. Uping her “value” in the INDY world. We will see.

Danica needs to stay right where she is. Stewart-Haas is doing very well for it’s first year, and Patrick only be a burden on the team’s resources. If she really wants to get into stock cars, she needs to start at the bottom, and work her way up. Or, better yet, stick to the Go Daddy commercials…they’re even more annoying than she is!

I read somewhere this morning that GoDaddy and Brad might be the reason for the visit…. Tony made a comment not too long ago when asked about Danika that gave the impression that he wasn’t interested in the prospect. I just think it would take away from everthing that they have accomplished so far this year… Tony and Ryan have been so serious this season, can you imagine the circus that would follow. I too don’t think it is much more than media speculation.
