The 2008 Painted Violins will be at the Brushstrokes Gallery in downtown Fredericksburg for First Friday November 7th.

Join us for violin viewing and refreshments. There will be an opportunity to place silent bids on the violins as well. The Brushstrokes Gallery is located at 810 Caroline Street Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.

The RYS is seeking nominations for the following positions on the board. The duties for each are listed below.

Secretary: The Secretary shall keep a record of all the proceedings of the meetings of the Executive Board (EB) and the Board of Directors (BOD). The Secretary shall maintain record books in which the by-laws and minutes are entered, with any amendments to those documents properly recorded, and have the current record book(s) on hand at every meeting. The Secretary shall insure that all records are maintained for a period of five (5) years. The Secretary shall notify the EB and/or BOD (by calling or notice) of meetings as required by the President. The Secretary shall record attendance at all meetings.

Parliamentarian: The Parliamentarian shall ensure that the BOD meetings are conducted according to proper procedures as outlined by these By-Laws, and Robert’s Rules of Order, Revised. The Parliamentarian shall chair the Nominating Committee and shall be responsible for the installation of new officers in coordination with the out-going President. The Parliamentarian is a non-voting member of the BOD.

Due to teacher work day and students are off in the Spotsylvania School System, we will not be able to hold our regular practice on Monday, November 6th. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion. Next rehearsal will be November 12, and auditions will be held at that time.
