PodCast thing

Here we are: the podcast.

Yeah, I got a bit carried away this time...it's a .swf inspired by the awesome Web 2.0 video we were shown earlier in the semester. The first one was sickeningly miscued because Camtasia hates speeding up the video and is therefore evil (i.e. one cannot preview 150% speed effect while inside camtasia; one must produce the whole thing first). Higher speed looks much better, but the zoom effect becomes more a detriment than a benefit. Oh, and while producing Camtasia takes up so much RAM that I'd be laughing if i wasn't too busy crying.

It also won't upload directly since I was silly enough to choose the 'recommended' setting for blogs and such.

So the take away message from this course was all about web 2.0 and all of the neat things that it has to offer. From Facebook to twitter, from del.icio.us to Popfly, all of these applications were very interesting and all interactive. This is what web 2.0 is all about. I enjoyed making my own web page alot because I was not held back from doing anything on it. It was very frustrating at first, but after I got the hang of it, it was very fun, and I am really happy about the way it turned out. I also have never had my own blog before, and it is really a nice way to be able to talk about whatever you want, with no limitations. Its a great way to express yourself, and I think i might continue to use it after this class.
One thing that my professor would not be able to test me on, or would not think of testing me on is how to send music files over the internet. This is something we did not go over in class, but i think would have been kind of cool to do. My sister is constantly asking me to download songs for her because i get free Napster here at Bentley, however, i cannot send them to her because i don't know how, and by the time i get home to give them to her, they are already "old". So this is one thing I wish we could have learned.

Did you use twitter on your cell phone? How was that different from using it on your PC? No, I didn't used twitter on my cell phone because I'm not allowed a lot of texts and it would get annoying. Even without using it on my cell phone it would probably be the same like the on the computer except you wouldn't get the picture of who was sending you a text.
Did you talk about stuff you posted on twitter with people you follow, when you later saw them in person? Not really, we use AIM a lot and that is the main source where we have our conversations.
Are there privacy issues? I think so, this application or program lets a lot of people stalk you and that's not cool.
Do you think you will continue to use twitter? I will not continue to use twitter. I don't really like the program and I don't see that much of a difference with this and like facebook or AIM. I like using those programs a lot better.
How might businesses use twitter as a marketing tool? I think that this is good for businesses because not a lot of adults use AIM or Facebook so this way they will know about twitter and have conversations about their occupations. Whether they have a meeting soon and they need to find out what to talk about.
What was your "take home message" after using twitter? It's an alright program, but its just following the same lines of Facebook and AIM and I don't see a lot of people using it like because I'm most likely not going to use Twitter after this.

Our group did our project on Cellware, the first mobile social networking site. Cellware offers many features that include mashups of ringtones and wallpapers as well as the ability to earn cash. Our group members included Ray Shipley, Amy Sturgeon, and Mike Molinaro.
