The Lumia 900 is on the big side, with a 4.3-inch screen. It has a solid-feeling plastic body, though it’s designed and cut in such a way that using brushed metal would have gone a long way to making it feel less cheap. The curved design is comfortable to hold, but the surface of the plastic body looks a little bulgy around the edges of the screen.

A 1.4GHz processor and 512MB of RAM power the Lumia 900, about the same specs as the first HTC Titan. During use, we found the Windows Phone OS was much faster overall, scrolling and executing transitions more quickly and smoothly. We had lamented the slowish transitions on the HTC Titan, which has a 1.5GHz processor, so we're happy to find out that rate-limiting factor isn't the OS.

The volume rocker on the phone is located above the sleep button; the camera button is towards the bottom on the right side. Almost every phone in recent memory places the sleep button at or near the top, so seeing a phone with one is the middle feels like looking at a world map with Australia in the Atlantic Ocean.

Vance Kim, the Nokia marketing campaign manager, told this design choice is meant to be more handed-ness agnostic than higher-up sleep buttons, and we quickly saw this was true: either the thumb of the right hand or forefinger of the left hand can hit that button easily, and with more leverage than one located at the top. The remaining issue is accidental presses, which we couldn't get a read on during our short time with the phone. All these buttons are easier to press and have more depth and feedback than those of the HTC Titan.

The Lumia 900's AMOLED display was not the best screen we saw at the show, but the level of color and detail was fine. The phone has an 8-megapixel camera on the back that neither takes phenomenal photos nor is particularly fast. There's also a front-facing camera for video chat.

In our eyes, the biggest red flag, relatively speaking, on the Lumia 900's spec sheet is the battery life: Nokia estimates the phone's 1830mAh battery (a generous size for a smartphone) will get up to 7 hours of 3G talk time and 6.5 hours of video. While the phone is undoubtedly faster than other Windows Phone devices we've tried, this suggests that it's operating at too high a level for a decent battery life.

While we like the Windows Phone OS and the Lumia 900's particular talent for smooth and speedy navigation, most of the other features make us hope Nokia targets the Lumia 900 as a really good mid-range phone, rather than trying to pass it off as a premium handset. The Lumia 900 and 800 are set to launch in March, for as-yet-unannounced prices.

"Microsoft has been struggling with browser stragglers for years," he said in a statement.

The giant upgrade programme will affect IE users running Windows XP, Vista and 7, and will first be rolled out in Australia and Brazil. Only those Windows users with automatic updates turned on will be enrolled in the programme.

Those using Windows XP will be upgraded to IE8, while those on Vista and 7 get bumped up to IE9. This will probably mean the demise of IE6, a 10-year-old version of the browser that Microsoft has been trying to kill off for a while.

Figures gathered by Microsoft suggest IE6 is used by about 8.3% of people around the world, with the biggest number of users in China, where almost 28% of people remain wedded to it.

Globally, Internet Explorer is still the most popular browser, with more than 52% of people using it, according to net market research firm Net Applications. Mozilla's Firefox and Google's Chrome are battling it out for second place.

Microsoft said it had made tools that would let people avoid or uninstall the more up-to-date versions of the browsers if they wanted to stay with an older copy.

It sounds like you've tried out Facebook Timeline. How is it?
I must admit that I liked playing with it a lot more than I liked filling in standard profile information. I set up Timeline on a Facebook account that doesn't have too much data in it, so it didn't feel overwhelming, but I could see how an active Facebook user would feel totally bowled over the first time he or she opened the Timeline. Thankfully, the Timeline has a "publish" button (much like a blog), so you have an opportunity to spend some time teasing it into shape, adding the permissions you want, deleting or marking private images you don't want everyone to see, and so forth. If you don't press the publish button within seven days of setting up your Timeline, however, it will go live automatically!

Most Facebook users, I think, will want to dedicate some time to combing through their information before hitting publish, but it's by and large a one-time setup process. After the one-time setup, new Timeline entries will come from your Facebook activity, and you'll be adding permissions and making other adjustments as you go.

I also like how you can add life events, either current or back-dated. Some of the life events are pre-set in Facebook, like getting a new job and buying a home, but you can also create a custom life event or milestone.

What are some of the cons?
The dimensions for display images is unconventional, and I found that I didn't like how most of my images looked when I uploaded them without manipulating their size and dimensions. You can drag an image around the viewer space, but you can't crop or resize from directly within Facebook. Google to present new Gmail for iOS

Various new features of Gmail can now be enjoyed by iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users in the newest version. Yes, Google has just released the updated Gmail application and add features requested by users. These features are presented here include sound notification of new email messages, and signatures that can be customized.

Other additions that stand out here is the existence Scribbels features. Scribbles allows users open a canvas to draw (or “scribble”) something using multiple colors and brush sizes. When finished, the scribble can be attached to an email and sent via the app.

The company first released the Gmail iOS app in November but quickly pulled it from the App Store due to widespread login problems. Two weeks later the app returned, but proved to be a huge disappointment for most people. In addition to the lack of support for multiple accounts and poor image message scalability, the app pretty useless for anything but plain text messages.

However, Google said it plans to add multiple account login support, banner notifications and a “send as” feature in future iOS app updates. What's New in Version 1.1 :

Lightbox today announced new features in their applications. With new feature called photo journal, Android users seem to be playing around with Lightbox application, while waiting for Instagram on their device. Lightbox is often referred to as the 'twin' of Instagram.

This image sharing application is often paired with Instagram if playing in the realm of Android. It allows users to upload photos automatically to Lightbox sites and other services.

The company’s new photo journal feature — accessible through the new version 2.0 Lightbox app launching today — takes that a step further by automatically grouping together photos in a personal timeline.

So, for example, you won’t need to worry about tagging or sorting all the photos you took during a friend’s birthday party — Lightbox will automatically do that for you, leaving you free to enjoy the party. The resulting photo journal vaguely resembles something you’d see from popular blogging service Tumblr. Even more like Tumblr (and Twitter), Lightbox now allows you to follow other users’ photo journals and vice versa.

Lightbox’s photo journals can be made entirely public, private, or unlisted (accessible only by visiting a specific link). Check out William Shepherd and Koneko Darling’s Lightbox pages for examples.

The feature gives Lightbox a major advantage over Instagram, which is only available on the iPhone at the moment and which goes to great lengths to keep its network locked down on its mobile app. Individual photos uploaded through Instagram can be viewed on the web, but it’s difficult to do seemingly simple things outside of the app, like view all of the photos from a single user. (Third-party services like Webstagram make this possible with Instagram.)

PicPlz, a competing photo sharing app available on both Apple’s iOS and Android, lets you easily explore photos from its users, but it lacks the automatic organization of Lightbox’s photo journals.

Lightbox is also launching a new HTML5 mobile site, which is accessible via the iPhone and other smartphones. You can’t upload photos via the mobile sites, which means iOS users will still need to hold out for a Lightbox app of their own. But the iOS version of the app is less than six months away, Thai Tran, Lightbox co-founder and CEO.

Lightbox launched on Android in June and is approaching 1 million downloads. In comparison, PicPlz, which launched a year and a half ago, has somewhere between 1 to 5 million downloads, according to the Android Market. Lightbox is also around 10 times as popular on Android as Path, which started out as a photo sharing app for your closest friends.

One fairly well-known GPS Applications in Android are Sygic GPS Navigation. Previously've tried several free applications for GPS, but has not been able to meet the needs, then finally tried also a paid GPS applications.
There are two applications that made me interested, the first is the CoPilot Live and Sygic. CoPilot instantly fall because the application does not provide a complete map. Next is the Sygic.

This application can be downloaded and can be tested for 7 days before it must be activated by using the Android Market, after the application is downloaded then download the maps. Its application is installed entirely into memory so it does not require an internet connection to run and also displays the map.
