Saegertown Elementary School on November 11, 2009 at 9:15 in the gymnasium honors all veterans.

Veterans please call the school (763-2314) to register to attend the assembly. SES pays a tribute to all Veterans and thanks you for your service!

The children at Saegertown Elementary School are very fortunate to have the support of parents and staff as demonstrated during the month of September. Thank you for attending Open House, PTCO meetings, and/or volunteering to help if possible. The partnership you are creating with the school will help to ensure your child’s success.

We appreciate you making school a priority. Arrival on time is key to your child doing their best. In addition, we appreciate you not picking up your child early if at all possible. Every interruption to the day impacts instructional time. If your child forgets something (lunch, library books, snack….), just drop it off in the front office and Mrs. Grinnell or Mrs. Phelan will make sure that your child receives it. As we work together, your child will get the best education possible here at Saegertown Elementary.

If you have not done so, please review your family’s plan for inclement weather as that is sure to come. Delayed opening and early closing of schools can be chaotic so take time now to develop a plan, if you need additional information, please contact the office at 763-2314.

PTCO Fall Fundraiser Underway

The PTCO has launched it’s annual fall fundraiser and is selling home items along with gift wrap and miscellaneous items. Orders are due by Monday, September 28, 2009. Thank you for all you do to support our PTCO and making SES such a great place for kids!

Suggestions or Tips
*Homework routines are established now and open communication with the teacher has set your child up for a great year!

*Read newsletters and assignment notebooks or folders and call or email questions to the teacher.

*Send in an art shirt and set up a system to help remember library day and book returns for your house!

*Praise your child for all the great work you see coming home!

*Review those bus rules and reinforce great behavior.

Welcome to Summer!

It was another successful school year at Saegertown Elementary School. We want to congratulate all of the students on a job well-done and look forward to seeing them again next year. We wish the 6th graders the best of luck as they move on to the high school.

In your travels, remember us at school. Please send us a post card from wherever you have traveled. We will display them in the fall when everyone returns.

If you are planning on moving over the summer, please call or stop by the office to sign a withdrawal form for your child(ren). We can prepare to have your child’s records sent to their new school. This also allows us to keep accurate enrollment records here at S.E.S.

Enjoy the summer break! We look forward to continuing many great learning experiences in the fall!

PSSA Tests Are Coming!

PSSA testing will begin on Monday, March 16th and run through Thursday, March 19th. Please make sure your child/children get a good nights sleep and eat a well balanced breakfast each day. Please make sure your child is at school on time and ready to do their best each day. Students: we know you will do your best and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Maple Darling visits SES!

Karisa Durfee the 2009 Northwest PA Maple Darling representative came to visit Seagertown. She presented to many grade levels about maple syrup production. Students learned that the maple season usually begins in mid-February and continues through March. Their Taste and Tour weekend is March 14th and 15th. Dairy Princess Comes To SES

On January 23rd, Leeann Kapanick came to visit with 1st grade classrooms. Leeann is the Crawford County Dairy Princess and the Pennsylvania State Princess. She taught the students the process that milk goes through from the cow to the store. The students were also able to make pudding which was a great treat for them.
