Saturday, the Farmer’s Market will be opening in their usual “spring through fall” location. They put together this wonderful map this year that I had to share with you all. The map points out exactly where the market is located and also convenient locations to park.

This year the Farmer’s Market has added a very helpful feature which is the “Load and Go Pick Up Zone”. Once you finish shopping, you can keep your goods at this loading area, go grab your car and drive up to the loading area where the staff will help you load your car. How easy is that?

They will also be giving away $50 gift certificates every 30 minutes from 8am-12pm. Good luck!

The Minnesota Museum of American Art is hosting “D.I.Y Printing *Press Not Required” through April 28th, 2013.  This exhibition features twelve local artists that either use alternative means to make their art or have a small print shop to work from. According to the MMAA’s website,”All of the artists in the show remix traditional techniques such as screen printing, relief printing and stencils with non-traditional materials.” Admission is free and there will also be refreshments provided. If you’d like to give printing a go-around yourself, you will have the  opportunity.   The exhibition is open Thursday-Friday from 4-9p and Saturday-Sunday from 12-5p.

It is a great place for kid’s parties as well. As I said I first visited the museum because I was invited to a birthday party there. The meal we had was served on an old train car that was decked out with tables, stools and even air conditioning. It was definitely a one of a kind birthday party!

Everyone that works at the museum is a volunteer and they are all very kind and passionate about the rich history the museum encompasses. The admission ranges from $5-10.

4th Annual St Patrick’s Irish Traditions 5k – Celebrating Active Friendship/Love/Loyalty

Annual Irish Music and Dance Association – St Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Landmark Center

Indulge yourself with Irish Culture at the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul on St. Patrick’s Day! From 10:00am-5pm, you can celebrate! There will be music, dancing, food and much more! At 3:10, Sherry Ladig and Don from Dunquin will be performing as well.

O’Gara’s

Thousands of people stop by O’Gara’s each year to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. From 8am to Close, drink specials will be offered and other festivities! A large outdoor tent will be set up to accommodate everyone. There is a new area called the “Shanty”, which has shuffleboard, TV’s and events on most nights of the week.

McGovern’s

“St Paddy’s Party” – begins at noon. They have three levels, plus an enclosed patio and a huge tent they will be putting in the parking lot. Entertainment includes three DJs in three different areas. The daily special will be corned beef and cabbage.

Whether you are Irish, or Irish for the day, remember to be safe and take advantage of the free Metro Transit rides around the city!
