what a great line!
bravo!
Disco is merely the umbrella term for an emerging movement in house that doesn’t feel like a computer, a guido, or a tone deaf Electro producer has made

No doubt.. I never really got the homophobic part of it until someone pointed out that the slogan "Disco Sucks" was carefully chosen

I would have entitled it "Disco went underground but Kraftwerk remained"

Kraftwerk has already inspired the electronic side of Disco in the seventies.

Their first world-wide hit single "Autobahn" (1974) was played on the dancefloors. People have perceived it as a "chilly disco song". This international success has inspired Georgio Moroder (who worked and lived in Germany as well at that time) to produce electronic disco songs (like Donna Summer`s "I feel love").

In 1977 Kraftwerk released "Trans Europe Express" - I don`t think we have to discuss the importance of that record...

Then the "Disco sucks" campaign (which was pretty racial, xenophobic and homophobic) was started and Disco went into the underground. That campaign gave a lot of artists a tough time (like G. Moroder) or they were simply finished.

But Kraftwerk remained and released in 1981 the album "Computer-World".
