NOTICE FOR INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION (IFS) , 2013

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be organizing the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2013 for the recruitment to the Indian Forest Service Officers ,which shall be commencing on 26/05/2013. The pattern of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2013 has been changed and in the lieu of this change the candidates appearing for IFS Examination 2013 need to appear in the Indian Civil Service Examination (Preliminary) 2013 for the same. Thus the candidates need to apply for Indian Civil Service Examination 2013 in order to appear in the Indian Forest Service Examination 2013.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree from any recognized university is a must with at least one of the following subjects namely, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Mathematics, Physics,Chemistry, Geology, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.
Age Limits: Candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st August 2013. The upper age limit is relaxable for OBC/SC/ST candidates only and certain other categories of candidates to the extent as specified in the notice by the commission.
Physical Standards: Interested candidates must be physically sound in shape according to the Regulations given in notice by UPSC.

Number of permissible attempts: The maximum number of attempts a candidate can avail are as follows (i) General Category - four (ii) OBC - seven (iii) SC/ST - No limits applicable.
