I’m an Ugly Duckling

As far as I can remember I wasn’t a pretty girl growing up. In fact I was those tomboyish kind girl which, I am still by the way. I grew up being a very chubby girl, guessing its in my genes. That’s why I’ve always feel like an ugly duckling. I won’t lie, it shakes my confidence level. Most probably that’s the main reason why my old friends couldn’t recognize me after the changes I went through.

I started my “transformation” process roughly during the beginning of last year. I managed to shave off some pounds & at the same time shape my body through diet & exercise. It was hard but I’m glad I managed to pull through it. I can tell you its all in your mind so if you got the determination, you can do it. I’m one of the laziest people I know; thus if I can do it, I’m sure others can as well. hehe.

No doubt about it that make up does help in improving my looks. I only started to learn how to make up end of last year & all the credits go to Reiko for teaching me. *hugs* Despite all the changes I made, I still feel like an ugly duckling; rephrase it, I’m an ugly duckling. Maybe that’s the reason why I'm always afraid that I won't be good enough for anyone... Nonetheless, I hope someday I can meet someone who will truly make me feel beautiful inside out... *fingers cross*

Something Real for Me

It has been a while since the last time I blog about my personal stuffs. Maybe because of what I went through, it made me hesitate to reveal anything too personal about myself. I find it sad actually because the main reason I started blogging was to share my personal thoughts & feelings with my friends. Somehow now it seems to defeat that reason isn’t it...

When someone reveal personal things about themselves, I find others will take the opportunity to use that against them. Unfortunately in this day & age, people tend to made a judgment without a care in the world & to think of the consequences he/she made. I mean how many of you out there really take in the time & effort to know the true story of what happened? Most of the time, people only listen to one side of the story & from there, they made their own judgment.

I've learned it through the hard way of the consequence of revealing too much about myself to someone I trusted. The worst part, it was someone I loved & trusted so it made the feeling even more worse. However, it made me grow, it made me learn. I had a good lesson, maybe that’s the reason why I don’t trust people easily nowadays compare to the old naive me. If you need to make some one to look bad in order for you to look good, I feel sad for you.

It's also sad to see how the truth is so easily twisted around so people can gain something out of it. I chose not care so much about what people think of me. Why would I want to live on how people judge me? Some times I do wonder, why people care so much about what the public think of themselves? In my opinion it only makes life harder to live, just because want to maintain a good image in the public. Being with someone who cares about the public’s eyes also makes life hard.

So why make life harder than it is?…

Grand Launch of Vertigo KL

Party goers, do you know Vertigo is the new ‘in’ club right now??? As a matter of fact if you have been reading my blog, you’ll realize most of the events I attended recently were all held at Vertigo. Well I got to say they certainly did a good job in creating a buzz about the place. So can you imagine the crowd's turn out for Vertigo’s grand launch day? I can because I was there. *evil laughs*

Vertigo will definitely be one of my top favorite club in KL. Don’t be surprise if you see me in Vertigo quite often yea. *giggles* Their club music is good as well, featuring all the latest top hitting chart songs which is so my kind of music. I club because I like to dance; hence music is very important to me when comes to club. ;)

A couple of nights ago, Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers was invited to a mixing event @ Ecoba. What mixing you’re asking? Well we were mixing our very own flavors of vodka! *whoots* Thank you to ABSOLUT Vodka for the sponsoring the liquor! :)

Alright the night started off with each of us invited guests to come up on stage to mix the drinks ourselves. Of course I didn’t want to miss out the fun; hence I created my own mixture as well. To be exact I mixed twice that night. *evil laughs*

Once the mixing time was up, it was time for the games to begin. Each round 2 persons will compete to see who can complete the jigsaw puzzle first. The winner get to choose an angpau with prizes inside it. Fred not, those who came in second place also receive a prize so no one went home with an empty hand. heh!

They had marvelous prizes up for grab that night starting with a limited edition Chinese New Year ABSOLUT Vodka bottle. Not including the limited edition mixture set & the best one would be the tower itself! Damn I wanted that so much. >.<

Since I wanted the tower so badly, I participated in the game. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on my side and I lost. lol.

Nonetheless, I did won a ABSOLUT Vodka glass back home. :)

Recently I stumble across a very interesting site. First of all, the website is called iBilik; cute name right. Actually it was formerly known as CariBilik, guessing they want to go high tech by changing it to the i-family. lol! Is still a catchy name if you ask me. *winks*

Let me tell you what is it all about. Basically this website is for people who are interested & looking room for rent. Not only this site is for people who are looking for a place to live, but also is for anyone who wants to rent their place out too! Hence, this website works in both ways. :)

FYI, iBlik is Malaysia's largest & No.1 room for rent, homestay & short term rental website! *jaw drops* At the moment they have over 100,000 listings posted online all across Malaysia in places such as Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar, Cheras, Setapak, Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, & Penang (the top hotspots).

Fred not, they also have a list of places in all the 14 states in Malaysia. In addition, if you’re thinking to go to Singapore or Indonesia, iBilik also provides rooms for rent too! Baby T-Rex for Christmas

Me & Reiko received a surprise from Stephen when he came to fetch us after the Hennessy event @ Vertigo to Maison. It was our belated Christmas presents & both of us received a baby T-Rex! *high pitch squeak* But Stephen didn’t said which one is for us so Reiko & I decided to play rock, paper, scissor to be fair. At the end I lost & the pink T-Rex went to Darling. I still love my green baby! *winks*

The most funny part was that Reiko said to save up my camera battery so can take photos later in Maison. But, once the babies T-rex entered the picture she was the one who took my camera & camwhore most of the time. At the end, my camera battery KO before we reached Maison. LMAO!

Hennessy VSOP NyX Launch Party @ Vertigo

Where’s the party? I’m not referring to Carlsberg. lol! In fact I’m referring to Hennessy’s launch party for their latest blend of VSOP NyX Privilege Collection. This time around I was able to bring 2 guests with me instead of the usual +1. Each of us received 1 white glove upon registration which can only be worn on the left hand.

As usual my VIP guest is Reiko. :)

So my second guest was CJ! Don’t they look matching in their outfit?

FYI, the theme of the party was white & violet so I totally went the opposite way. I only realized it when I was completely dress up so I didn’t have the enthusiasm to change. *laziness* LOL… Nonetheless I still had my white glove to glow in the dark. :P

2011 Year End Moments

Alright, 2011 has ended. It was definitely one of the best year of my life despite of what had happened. lol. Though my relationship did not work out as I wanted it to be but my work & study have been smooth sailing. Not forgetting the friends I have & of course I met a tons of new ones too. *whoots* Overall I got a lot of things to be thankful to God for. :)

[ADV] Carlsberg’s Where’s The Party

Where’s the party?!?!?!

That was everyone’s question last Saturday who attended Carlsberg’s party . Due to the great response towards the first party held earlier this year, Carlsberg know they have a huge expectation to live up to. I did not manage to attend the first one so I was super excited to attend this one. *whoots!* All guests & media were told to go to the meet-up point which was at Shah Alam Stadium. From there, we were chauffeur to the secret location by bus. *jeng jeng jeng*

Before that, thank you so much to Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers & Carlsberg for the invites! :D

The bus ride was so fun! Credits go to the host who kept us entertained & kept making us to guess where the secret location is. The bus was full with laughter & I got to say it was a great way to start up the party.

I’m sure by now you know where the secret location, is none other than Carlsberg very own Brewery in Shah Alam! Medias arrived earlier for the press conference to introduce the line of artists’ performances of the night. FYI, more than 2000 GUESTS attended the party. So you can see how many people were dying to get the invites to get to this exclusive party. heh!

The main star attraction was filled with a line of international and local performances. Local famous violinist Dennis Lau & Malaysia’s top beat boxer, Shawn Lee. Local bands Crossfire & Paperplane Pursuit also joined in the amazing line up. In addition, special appearance by Korean superstar, Lee An & international renowned girl band ‘High on Heels’ made their first appearance in Malaysia! *jaw drops*

MHB hotties! I’m pretty sure most of you want to see the group photo the most. XD

Since they had a beach theme in the previous party, so for this party they incorporate an "’amusement park’ theme. I was like a small little kid when I saw all rides & the game booths. *giggles* Me & Reiko went to each booth so we wouldn’t miss out any fun. Carlsberg brought in the all time childhood favorite rides which were the Ferris wheel, pirate ship & carousel. *jumps for joy*

This is my favorite ride among all. :D

Despite I’m terrified of heights but I love to ride on Ferris wheel. Weird right? lol!

Not only that, Carlsberg did a great job in feeding each guests so no one will be starve after playing all the games. haha… *thumbs up* There were many food stands but my favorite one, was by far the ice-cream stand; they had my favorite durian ice-cream. Durian freak here, excuse me yea. :P

Can’t remember the last time I had cotton candy, felt like a small kid back eating it. hehe…

Carlsberg wanted to give an unforgettable moment to every guest; hence the main ride attraction was the ‘Sky Rider’. This gave partygoers an exhilarating experience of being buoyed by a hot air balloon! I definitely did not miss & it was so much FUN being buoyed up in the air.

Besides that, all partygoers were equipped with a unique RFID tags that enables us to collect points from the games played. At the same time, every time we tag on the “Like” stations, it will automatically update on our Facebook wall. So now you know why my Facebook wall keep updating non-stop that day. Can’t help it that I enjoyed myself so much. :P

Shawn Lee collaborated with Dennis Lau & performed a crazy mix up beats; the crowd was going wild listening to it. XD

I think the best surprise of the night was when Mr. Soren appeared on the stage for a spontaneous rap performance with Dennis Lau & Shawn Lee! I was amazed with his performance. Hats off to Mr. Soren! *cheers*

So Carlsberg had “Alcohol Testing Zone” where people had their alcohol level checked while partying & “Drunk Man Zone” which involved an android game to display the effect of excessive alcohol consumption. This is the way to party man, which is PARTY RESPONSIBLY. ;)

Yet again, without Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers & Carlsberg, I would never get the chance to experience this much fun that blew my mind off. THANK YOU!!! ♥

I’ve been collecting Starbucks tumblers since the year end of 2009. Not sure how I started to like their tumblers but since then, it became my number #2 hobby (nothing can beat shopping!). hehe… A lot of people ask me why do I always go to Starbucks, well it’s because of their tumblers. At the moment, I have 14 tumblers; yes you heard it right, 14! :P

One thing good about year end is that lots of parties keep popping everywhere! I mean that’s what year end is all about right; celebrating a great year end while anticipating another new great year ahead. ICE-CREAM, ICE-CREAM, ICE-CREAM!!!

I have been saying out load this word for the entire time at uni today. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, then you will definitely know that I’m selling gelato @ HELP for my group assignment. Yes, last semester I sold cakes & pastries & now ice-cream for this semester. *faints* I have no idea why the subjects I take keep having this kind of project.

Can’t you feel year end celebrations are everywhere? Can’t believe it that within 2 weeks time, 2011 is going to end. Not to miss out the fun around, Tiger also join in the fun by celebrating the year’s countdown with its ‘Here’s To Living It Up’ party! The main attractions of the night were the Chong Sisters, Manhand, Douglas Lim & Malaysia’s top rapper, Namewee!

2011 Starbucks Christmas Edition

This year Christmas is merrier than ever! I mean for Starbucks. haha! Everyone knows that every year Christmas, Starbucks releases limited edition merchandise in celebrating the festive season. This year they release their biggest collection yet. My first time I see there are so many tumblers designs that gotten me spoil for choices! *big wide smile*

Among all the tumblers, I gotten myself these 3 designs. These tumblers are so popular in demand that I grab them instantly from the shelves. LOL! Since is LIMITED EDITION, it’s selling like hot cakes. I’m still looking for 2 more Christmas tumblers but I doubt can see it anymore. Nonetheless, I’m pleased with what I have this year. :)

Pretty right? This is the only tumbler I have with an artistic logo design at the bottom. *winks*

Besides the cute & adorable design tumblers, Starbucks also launched ‘Starbucks Gift Card’ with 2 Christmas design which is also limited edition. I’m lucky to get all 3 designs! Weee…

After trying out both the day & night pads, it does fulfill my needs while giving me the comfort I want. It was be a weird transition from using the normal thick napkin because it was so thin leading the feeling of insecurity. However, after some time using it, it feels so comfortable that I don’t feel like I’m wearing it. So far I have not yet experience any overflow problems; so don’t let the ‘thin’ look fool you as it can really absorb a lot.

Another main concern besides feeling uncomfortable, is worrying 24/7 whether there will be stains on our clothes right. Yet again, I have not experience any of it which is a major plus point for me. Hey, who knows maybe a good napkin can avoid PMS. lol! One thing for sure, I won’t be going back to the big-old-baggy napkin anymore. :P

United Buddy Bears World Tour @ Pavilion

The United Buddy Bears has finally arrived in Malaysia! Weeee ♥

FYI, Kuala Lumpur is the 23rd stop of the world tour & the 19th city to be visited. Currently this exhibition has been to 17 countries on 5 continents with fans more than 25 million in the world admiring the bears. The exhibition was launched yesterday by the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad bin Ismail, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Dr. Victor Wee & the United Buddy Bears creators Dr. & Mrs. Klaus Herlitz.

I thought I can compete with the bears cuteness by adding a bit of sweetness to my outfit but it was an #epicfail! *no eyes to see*.

United Buddy Bears are a series of painted, life-sized bear sculptures standing at 2m height that are made of fiber-glass. It was originally created by Klaus & Eva Herlitz in Berlin, Germany worked together with Roman Strobl who is a sculptor. The MOST unique feature about these bears are that each bear is exclusively painted by an artist to represent his/her country. Whoots!

Our very own Malaysia Bear is exclusively designed & painted by renowned Malaysian artist Imuda!
The honor of unveiling it was by Dato’ Haji Zafer Hashim, President & Group Managing Director, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, the patron of the Malaysian Buddy Bear & the artist himself. Imuda painted the bear with elements of main races, culture, flora & fauna as well as significant landmarks of Malaysia.

There are 3 aspects of these absolutely adorable bears which are art & culture, the message of peace & international understanding & last but not least it acts as a Charity for Children’s Relief Organizations. As of November 2011, through donations & auctions have raised a total of €1,800,000 to aid UNICEF & local children’s relief organizations around the world. What a great job they done so far. :)

This is the motto stand by the United Buddy Bears. :3

So stop by Pavilion to have a look for yourself of the 143 life-size painted bears! They will be at Pavilion for about 3 months before moving on to the next country on their tour. With the theme, ‘The Art of Tolerance’, the United Buddy Bears are spreading the message of peace, love, friendship & international understanding while raising funds to aid children’s relief organizations in every country they visit.

It’s kinda obvious which country this bear represent. :P

At the launch, 1000 nomadic gardens were released by the VIPs, guests, children from homes, members of the media & the public too. Andrew Ching, Manging Director of E-Plus Entertainment Productions (M) Sdn Bhd who is also the co-organizer of United Buddy Bears Malaysia said, “nomadic gardens are an art installation in space, a metaphor for the abundance throught the precarious nature of life. These floating gardens are helium-filled balloons carrying sprouted seeds, which have the potential to land on auspicious ground & grow into plants across the site of the exhibition and beyond. They are symbolic offering of life force to individual members of the public.”

Cutest Durian Cake ♥

Everyone who knows me definitely knows that I’m a DURIAN LOVER. *hearts* Whether is durian ice-cream, durian puffs, durian pancakes, as long is durian I'll eat it for sure. You name it, I'll eat it. hehe! I realize that people will have either a love or hate relationship with durian; either you absolutely love it or you absolutely hate it. lol.

So you can predict how ~~happy~~ blissful I was when I saw Daddy came back with a BIG durian cake. *extra large big wide smile*

This cake was love at first sight when I lay my eyes on it. First thing I notice was how CUTE the cake look. *awww...* Then the lovely aroma smell of the durian reached my nose & brought me up to heaven. teehee! The cake is made up of layers of sponge cake together with durian cream & filling in between.

This cake is suitable for people who can’t take durian because the taste ain’t that strong. I wish the taste could be stronger,more “umph”, you know what I mean. hehe… Nonetheless, this cake taste DELICIOUSSSSS; I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. *winks*

Is Okay to be Afraid

Blogging is like an open diary for me. I like writing my thoughts out. I don’t take blogging as work, is my passion of writing. Hence, I’ll continue writing or in this case typing whatever what I want in it. :)

What do you afraid in life? Afraid of being laugh at, afraid of insects, afraid of being in trouble, afraid of confrontation & the list goes on. That’s one of the challenges in life right, overcoming our own fears. One of my greatest fear now is having dreams. I know is kinda weird to say that instead of nightmares.

Why I said is a dream despite I’m fear of it? The people who appear in my dreams are my friends & family whom I love. The downside is that one particular person presence. Though it might seem like nothing but it is something that bothers me. I’m afraid it will go on making it unbearable to me. I was told that is because I keep forcing myself to not think about it so unconsciously my mind dream of it even more.

Maybe that’s true… So I decided to take my time, not to force myself anymore. Is ok to think about it from time to time. Somehow I’m glad that I’m afraid. I was told before that is good to be afraid, it means that I have something to loose. When you have someone or something precious to protect, you will have fears the chances of failure isn’t it?

There are things I have dreamed about all of my life. Things I never thought I would have… Mere fantasies… Parents that would embrace me… A home where I could truly feel welcome… A place where everyone could smile, & laugh together… A place where I could be myself, & I could be close to the people around me.. A warm place… surrounded by friends… But I know now… It wasn’t all a fantasy… That place exists.
