Hi, sure. Sawmonium is made for the full version of kontakt and it cannot be loaded in the libraries tab. It will only run in demo mode with kontakt player. If you have further questions please email support@sampleism.com

I’ve never seen an intro animation for a Kontakt library before! At least not one as cool as this! Coming soon to a sample site near you!

Do you have any general guidelines for submitting a sample library? I’m sat here with a vast modular synth, a 96kHz audio interface and a copy of Kontakt and a lot of free time right now.

I absolutely LOVE your BOCS packs! I’m curious as to how you the sounds were engineered. The BOCS packs are incredible. It’s amazing to have those textures at our fingertips. These are incredible sounds to compose with - but I’d like to understand what’s going on ‘under the hood.’ Which engineers created these packs? What synths were used? What outboard gear used? Are there any great resources that go into detail so producers can attempt to recreate these tones on their own?

Hey. Glad you like the bocs packs. They have a truly authentic sound, I agree. They were created by Alex from Audiowarp using experimental techniques. As far as I know, he didn’t use any exact methods, he just experimented with outboard and tape devices. You’ll be pleased to know we are currently working on his next release!

An Old Skool Classic Redefined

The DX was a drum machine produced in 1983, which, along with its big brother, the DMX, was used on many hit records of that era (most notably New Order’s “Blue Monday”). In addition to 80s pop, it was widely used on many house / new wave jams 80s Hip Hop, and even the early digital era of reggae.

The DX delivers a huge, acoustic / electronic drum sound akin to the Linndrum, Drumtrax and 707 (but fuller sounding). Thick, punchy, and sits well in any mix.

We multi-sampled it to ¼" tape through classic preamps, hardware saturation and Apogee conversion, transforming it into a feature rich Kontakt instrument, Ableton 9 drum rack, Maschine Kit and Logic EXS patches.

Kontakt Features

The sound of the Kontakt instrument is insane and the sequencer makes for fun, intuitive programming - I prefer both the sound and sequencing of the Kontakt instrument to the original machine (seriously).

I just purchased PSI Marimba - great! I do have one question. Can the rolls last longer? I want to hold long chords and the rolled chords only last for about one mea @ mm60. Pedal does not hold the rolled chord. Is there a way to have the rolls last for a longer time?

These sounds have been created via the methods used by the group themselves. Vintage analog synths, 4-tracks, valve amps even VHS recorders were used to create a sample bank more authentic than anything we’ve heard before.

These sounds have a dirty, dusty, and dream like quality just like that elusive Boards of Canada sound. Weighing in at just under 1 gig you can be guaranteed a truly professional sound to use for your next stunning track.

10 sample banks each fit into two sound modules within the Kontakt GUI which consists of a patch blend option. Drop the volume on module 2 and use these samples as fantastic sounding individual patches. Combine any two of the ten different sample sounds and change settings such as volume, attack, release or perhaps add a high or low pass filter.
