<p>It goes without saying that we’re waiting for the new <a href="http://www.samsunghub.com/2009/06/15/samsung-unveils-the-updated-omnia-range/" target="_blank">Omnia line</a> to hit our shores but if you’re one of those <del datetime="2009-07-17T16:15:24+00:00">unlucky</del> lucky ones still holding that original Omnia on Verizon, there’s some good news for you. Verizon pushed out a new firmware for Omnia that unlocks GPS. Other features or fixes are not known for now but I bet there won’t be anything as exciting as being able to use the ubiquitous GPS with your favorite GPS software. </p>

And yes, it’s totally different to what we had assumed to be a CDMA version of <a href="http://samsunghub.com/tag/valencia" target="_blank">Valencia</a>. It has a nice pebble like design, full QWERTY, 2.2-inch display, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, microSD slot up to 16GB and support for IM &#038; e-mail. <em>Mobile Syrup</em> has also got their mitts on the price and it looks to be a cheap ask, if you can commit to Bell for 3 years. </p>

<p>Good news for Samsung fans in Singapore. Samsung has unveiled the pricing and availability date for the much awaited i8910 Omnia HD and WinMo powered Omnia II. Omnia II will make to the retail shelves as early as this weekend, from July 18 at a recommended price of S$898 (US$615) without contract. Since the phone is coming out early, it will run WinMo 6.1 OS which could be later upgraded to WinMo 6.5. </p>

<p>But if HD video recording is your only concern, you’ll be able to pick the i8910 HD from August 1 at S$1098 (US$750). </p>

The M1 or YP-M1 was certified by the Bluetooth organization and though the listing does not say much, it does confirm a 3.3-inch wide touchscreen display, Bluetooth. The picture too, hints at some features like loudspeakers (on the sides), flash support, voice recorder, podcasts, Subway maps and dictionary. </p>
<p>Samsung’s YP-R1 is <a href="http://www.samsunghub.com/2009/07/07/samsung-yp-r1-pmp-confirmed-for-next-month/" target="_blank">scheduled</a> for a next month release so we can expect M1 to be released thereafter.</p>

<p>Camcorders were not the only ones to be <a href="http://www.samsunghub.com/2009/07/14/samsung-announces-u10-and-k-series-camcorders/" target="_blank">launched</a> today. Samsung unwrapped two point-and-shoot digital cameras in the US and one in UK. The SL720 and SL502 will make way through US retail channels in August and both carry a 12.2MP sensor with 5X optical zoom. The other common features include face recognition (up to 20 faces), beauty shot, smile shot, blink detection and photo style selector.</p>

<p>However, the features that differentiate them are its lens, video recording. SL720 boasts a 28mm wide-angle lens, 3-inch LCD, dual image stabilization and able to record videos in 720p resolution whereas SL502 has a standard 35mm lens, 2.7-inch LCD, digital image stabilization and VGA resolution video recording.</p>
<p>The SL720 will retail for $299.99 and SL502 for $149.99.</p>

<p>On the other hand, an entry level ES17 compact snapper showed its face in UK. It is also a 12MP shooter and similar in features to SL502 except the 3x optical zoom. The camera will be available in different hues for £89 ($145).</p>

<p>It seems the wait till tomorrow will be only for the official pricing. <em>Phone Arena</em> who got us the pictures <a href="http://www.samsunghub.com/2009/07/13/samsung-comeback-t559-returns-with-new-pictures/" target="_blank">yesterday</a> is back again revealing the full specifications of this dual-screened messaging phone. </p>
<p>The sheet completes and confirms few of the features already known. It supports quad-band networks with 3G band for T-Mobile, PMOLED screen (128&#215;128) on the front while the internal TFT supports WQVGA resolution, a 2MP camera with 2.5x digital zoom but no autofocus, music player, up to 5.5 hours of talk time, 75MB internal memory and expandable up to 16GB via microSD/SDHC slot.</p>
