This doesn’t surprise me at all because my Samsung Vibrant plays DivX files flawlessly in 720P HD.

Did you know that your Samsung Vibrant can scan barcodes and QR codes using a free barcode app? (called Barcode app!)

This allows you to quickly check online prices through Google Shopping while you are at the mall.  I use this all the time because I can check if I am paying too much over retail.

For those of you who want to play old-school Super NES games on your Samsung Vibrant, you can and it’s easy to do.

Simply download SNESoid app and search for free SNES ROMs by googling it.

You should then be able to open up the SNES ROMs on your Samsung Vibrant and start playing!

Tip – You can also get AndroidZip off the Market for unzipping ROM or any other Zip files without having to copy it over from your computer.

Samsung Vibrant is now officially available through Canada’s Bell for $499.95 without contract and $149.95 with a 3 year contract.

This Samsung Vibrant launching in Canada is actually a bit better than the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant as it comes with a front-facing camera for video chat.

Why did Canadians get the better Samsung Vibrant!?!  We (Americans) would like an answer to that.

For those of you wondering how to adjust your Samsung Vibrant Brightness, go to Setting->Sound & Display->Brightness.

You can also set it on “automatic brightness” which automatically adjusts your screen according to how much light there is.  I find that manual adjustment gives you longer battery life.

If you want the longest battery life, I highly suggest you to install the “Power Management Widget” by doing a long press on home screen and hitting “Android Widgets”, which allows you to adjust the brightness manually on the go as you need it.

For those of you who have been waiting to get your hands on Samsung Vibrant Froyo, it will be available at the end of September, which is about 2 months away, according to a tweet by Samsung UK.  This means Froyo will be available across all Samsung Galaxy S branded phones.

The other day I did a test showing how iPhone 4′s antenna “gap” problems and “death grip” affects iPhone 4′s entire voice/data, cutting off everything completely regardless of number of bars shown.

For this test, I used SpeedTest app which shows you how fast the phone downloads/uploads.

For iPhone 4, it got 420kbps download and 748 kbps upload on a full bar signal while with its antenna gap covered, the iPhone 4 stopped working completely, it wouldn’t even download 1kbps as shown below:

For Samsung Vibrant, I was getting such bad T-mobile signals, in fact ZERO bars but I still got a good 394kbps download and 799kbps upload:

With a death grip on the Samsung Vibrant, I still managed to get 125kbps download while it stopped working for upload.

If the Samsung Vibrant had at least 1 bar where this test was done, I am sure the results would have been better.

But in comparison to an iPhone 4, the Samsung Vibrant still kicked ass, still being able to download/upload with ZERO bars.

In the end, I realized the bars on the phone have no meaning but whether you can still use the phone with ZERO bars.

It’s clear to me now that iPhone 4′s antenna problems are Apple’s and only theirs, other smartphones like Samsung Vibrant’s antennas are clearly better.
