Now that Christmas season is upon us, I’m sure a lot of mothers, those who have full time day jobs and those who stay at home to care for the kids, are in the look out for prospective income generating activities. Searching not only to help augment the family income, but also to have something extra to spend during the holidays, may that be to buy the kids some nice presents or to save some money to spend for a great holiday vacation with the entire family in the future.

It does not really take rocket science to think of ways on how you can earn a little extra this Christmas, and no, you don’t have to take on any automotive finance jobs, either! Simply play on your strengths and lean on your favorites and interests and you will be sure to earn those extra moolahs just in time to catch up on your last minute holiday shopping.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Bake some homemade goodies. If you are a mommy who loves to cook, why not use your kitchen prowess to make some brownies or cakes and sell it to your friends and neighbors. You can also give these goodies as Christmas presents to your family and friends for the holidays. Who knows, this might be the start of something big for you!
2. Garage sale. Why not set up some tables in your yard and sell items that you no longer use? A surefire way to earn a little minus the capital. You can sell used clothes and bags, especially those that do not fit or not your type anymore. You can also sell used baby items and baby toys that are no longer appropriate for your little one. This way you can find a much better use for your old stuff instead of leaving to gather dust in your cabinets.
3. Offer gift-wrapping services. If you are a creative mom and good in crafts, you can probably offer gift-wrapping services to your family and friends who are way too busy and do not have enough time to wrap all their Christmas presents. You can vary your charge depending on the type of wrappings a person might want.

These are just some of the things you can do to earn extra money. As I have said above, if your “little business” greatly help other people and they are looking for more, then this might be the ticket to your new career.

Overall, you need to be creative and focused on what you really wanna do, because, if you love doing it, then sooner or later, rewards are not far behind

Warning! This post might turn into a bit of a rant,lol.

I just feel that it is so unfair that only people in America get to take advantage of the left and right deals they can avail during Black Friday. Not familiar with Black Friday? Good for you, coz that might just save you from heartaches.

Seriously now. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. Retailers offer many promotional sales as a kick-off to the shopping season and in time for Christmas. It used to last until the weekend but that practice has been abolished, as retailers sort of want to promote urgency thus thousands of sales and profits in just a day. Promos and discounts differ depending on the original amount, but for sure, each is worth your money. Otherwise, people will not scramble to the stores just to get ahead of others. Imagine, falling in long lines just to be the first few ones to enter as soon as the doors open.

If I only live in the US, I would probably be saving whatever I can keep so that when Black Friday comes, I’d be prepared for the huge bills, lol.. I’d most especially buy bags, shoes, clothes and gadgets. The branded ones will surely be on sale too! Yes, you guess it right I have a shopaholic tendency that is why, I try to stay away from online stores as much as I can. Though sometimes, online shops are your last choice for emergencies like when we needed a brand new AVR-5308CI Receiver.

Unfortunately, I don’t live in the United States but my eldest sister and her family is just in California. I guess, I could ask her to include my list when she shops. Though that would mean a long wait because of the shipping, it doesn’t matter, lol.

My question now is – Why can’t we have something similar like that here in this country? Or there might be one and I am not aware of it, lol.  I wish someone somewhere in this country will think about it and starts the concept here. I’m pretty sure that it will click.

For now, I’d start making my long list and I do hope my wish will be granted

Being bald is not necessarily a bad thing. Being bald earlier than the normal stage or phase, is what you need to worry about. There are some solutions or options which might be able to help, so read on.

The non-surgical solution is to wear a wig that matches your old hair colour and contour/shape of your face.  More often than not, wigs are always obvious and sometimes, this poses huge psychological anxieties . Well, are you thinking of doing some mix and match with your current furniture or maybe wanna purchase some to add to your collections? It’s that time of the year where some people are on a shopping spree for new house decors or even paint the walls and ceilings anew. They think that re-arranging things around the house would mean “new beginnings” or maybe money would easily knock on their doors.

As for me, I am thinking of placing a few new furniture especially a round end table near my desktop computer. I need a place to put some of my “work things” and having one would free up the top of the CPU or the printer of important papers and utility bills. I already have a stack filer so at least, it would be kinda organized.

I could go for wooden or glass coffee tables and end tables and I know they’d be a match to my current furniture. If you are an old reader of my blogs, perhaps you’ve seen me post about furniture around the house and you’d know that I fancy mostly wooden ones. The whole house has an air of being “old” and “antique”, so best if the new ones are wooden.

Though in some areas of the house, some furniture are made of glass like our round dining table for guests. The usual dining table we use is the long rectangular one simply because we like dining on an old table and sitting on old chairs. First time visitors sometimes say that our house is kinda creepy,lol. Situated in the main living room are antique side tables, chairs and couches. There are old paintings hung on one side and there’s a large mirror on one end. Crossing the dining area would also give you the chill, ahahaha, coz there’s yet another large mirror like those used in dancing studios, so, you can actually see your whole body. Apart from that, there’s an old, I think, a hundred year old cabinet which we turned into a book case.

Let’s not go into more details about the house, coz, I can now feel my hair all shooting up, lol.

Anyway, i hope I’ll get more moolah before the year ends so I can buy me some new decors. I’d really like to replace the old ones and turn this house into one lively home

Why do we get Fat?

The storing of fat reserves within the body is not only desirable, it is vital to the wellbeing and maintenance of a healthy life. The trick is to store only enough fat sufficient to our needs, and not to store extra reserves through the overconsumption of food and drink and lack of physical exercise.

When we consume excess calories, the fat produced is stored in Adipocytes, only being released as energy when the body consumes too little nourishment or undertakes strenuous exercise. Even when the Adipocytes have been depleted of fat stores they cannot be removed from the body through conventional diet and exercise. They will remain permanently, being restored as we consume excess calories and causing those stubborn areas of unsightly fat which we all have.

As we age, the body will find it more difficult to maintain the balance of calorie intake and energy output and we will, inevitably, store more fat.

How Laser Liposuction works

Laser Liposuction/Lipolysis or ‘SmartLipo’ is one of the new generations of techniques developed to destroy the Adipocytes within the body, as opposed to removing them as in more traditional forms of Liposuction. The procedure is considered to offer a more gentle application, causing less trauma to the treatment site, and delivering more effective results to the patient. Because the Adipocytes are destroyed by the immune system within the body, the skin at the treatment area has time to contract as the fat diminishes over a period of time, leading to less slack and wrinkled skin following the procedure.

The Surgeon will begin by making a 1-2mm incision into the treatment site and inserting a laser into the fatty layer beneath the skin, as he agitates the tip of the laser, the fat cells will be broken down and released into the system for natural, gradual dispersal. The introduction of a new 30 watt laser system in 2008, has further revolutionised the ‘SmartLipo’ procedure, allowing for larger volumes of fat cells to be removed and at greater speed. The extra heat energy produced also leads to a greater level of contraction within the skin, delivering more effective results for the patient.

So is it Pain Free?

As with any surgical procedure, medical or cosmetic, some discomfort, swelling and bruising is to be expected following the Laser Lipolysis treatment. Pain relief is recommended in the form of Aspirin or Paracetamol, although for patients experiencing severe bruising, Aspirin is not advised as it will further exacerbate the problem. Some people may experience hard, tender lumps at the treatment site; these are generally caused by a mass of dead fat cells or as a response to the scarring process, from the white blood cells within the immune system. Very occasionally a patient may be left with burns caused by the laser during the procedure. These should be immediately be reported to the Surgeon who performed the treatment, who will advise of the appropriate course of action.

The most important application for patients following Laser Lipolysis is the wearing of elastic compression garments for a period of 2-6 weeks following the treatment. These will help to reduce the occurrence of oedema (fluid swelling) under the skin, and is vital in the healing process and in delivering a smooth, toned result to the treatment area.

Will it deliver a ‘Dream Body’?

The manufacturers of the ‘SmartLipo’ technique recommend it for use on the saddlebags on the outer thighs, the abdomen and the bingo wings under the arms. It can also prove effective on the back of the shoulders and the thigh area above the knees. What it cannot do, however, is offer an alternative to a healthy lifestyle, good diet and regular exercise. There are, unfortunately, no short cuts to a ‘Dream Body’ if, in fact, such a thing exists. For the cost of Laser Lipolysis, from around $3000, is give a ‘helping hand’ in removing those stubborn areas of fat which have proved resistant to all other actions.
