Holy cow, we're married

Thanks to everyone who made the wedding weekend such a tremendous success.

Pictures are being uploaded to the wedding flickr group. If you took digital pictures at the wedding, please consider uploading them to flickr. It’s free to join. Our photographer’s photos will be put online within a few weeks. I’ll post a link here once they’re up.

Travel and transportation

The wedding date quickly approaches. If you haven’t gotten a hotel room yet, you’re welcome to try any of the hotels we had blocked, which are listed on the Loding page. There are no guarantees about availability this close to the date, but you should still try mentioning the Lieberman/Weisz wedding and see if they’ll give you a discount.

Driving directions to all the events are on the Wedding Weekend page. If you won’t have a car or would prefer not to drive, please let us know. Several of the events are accessible by public transportation, or we can help you carpool with other guests. If enough guests need rides to the wedding, we may arrange for a van shuttle, so please let us know as soon as possible what your plans are.

We’re very excited to see all of you in a couple weeks. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Who is Amy Karatz?

Hello friends and relatives of Sarah who are confused by the reply card. Relax! You did not mistakenly receive someone else’s invitation.

To make a long and very boring story short, we were worried the cards might get lost in the mail because they’re a little smaller than regulation postcard size, but we didn’t want to put our address on the return address line because we didn’t want the post office to think we were trying to scam them, and we were afraid you might forget or not have enough space, so we just put Amy’s address on instead.

Oh, right. The important part: Amy Karatz is Sandy’s mom. You’ll meet her at the wedding.

And by the way, there is a secret code on every reply card, so even if you forget to sign it, we’ll still know it’s you (and not Amy). Nifty.

If you’re visiting this site for the first time after getting your invitation, welcome. Please take a look around using the navigation on the right. This site should have all the information you need to prepare you for the wedding, but if you feel anything’s missing, or have any questions, please drop us a note.

The latest update we made was to the Wedding Weekend section. The Saturday event has been finalized: we’ll be hosting an afternoon open house at our apartment on Chicago’s north side for all family and out-of-towners. We hope you can come by. There’ll be some good food and attention-loving cats, but most importantly, there’s a spot waiting for you on our photowall.

Registries & donations

Many of you have asked for information on gifts, so we’ve finally updated that part of the site. Please take a look at the Registry section to find links to the shops at which we’ve set up registries.

However, it would mean a great deal to us if instead of buying us a gift, you considered giving a donation in our name to a charitable organization. We’ve listed four on our site that we respect and support ourselves.

Of course, any gift you choose to give—even just the gift of joining us in celebration—will bring us much joy. Thank you.
