This is an obituary article about the life of His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami, a life-long devotee of Krishna who recently passed away. During his lifetime, he spread Krishna consciousness around the world, especially in his home state of Manipur, India. He directed the Bhaktivedanta Institute to further the scientific study of the soul. And he organized two world congresses for the Synthesis of Science and Religion, attended by scientists, nobel laureates and religious leaders including His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
