Ever questioned your self or others on what is life all about? Of course as any ordinary person, we receive tons of advice and predecessor guidelines in living the proper life. The ultimate goal for any human being would be about living happily by knowing what is right or wrong. All those advise were said and written by life or religious philosophers based on experience. You know what? Forget that crap.

Everyone’s life is entirely different from another. You are your experience. You create your own experience. Everything is in your hands.

There is something more superior than experience. It is Instinct. Your heart’s silent desires.

There is nothing unachievable if you work for it. (taking into count you know what you are doing)

Living away from the world (silence) or creating noise (trouble) is not going to create happiness.

Your life is in your hands. Do not live in predictions. Life is unpredictable but just listen to your instincts. If you are clear of fearful corruptions, then your instincts are right.

Creating Happiness Within One & Another

People from the past till present have come a long way in trying to obtain what is called optimum happiness in life. Many philosophers and great minds, have come up with so many verbal advises, literatures, and theories that seems to have some sort of connection with optimum happiness of life. Many are as such by isolating one’s self from family life and public activities in the name of religious believes. Some go in the path of becoming social activist while isolating family and closed one’s. Are this great paths to be followed? I feel, people in the past were as confused as people are today. Trying things as such would have possibly created a better feeling for the respective predecessors, but it would not be applicable for all. The probabilities of such are impossible to attain if you in any way neglect your family or become too concern on your faith.

I don’t write or speak with experience. But I believe strongly in my instincts. From what I conclude, my instinct in optimum living would never create another question in its acceptance.

Your Wife & Kids. The most valuable assets to your life after your own self. Learn to be sincere to this circle. Never ever think of any form of betrayal to this circle. If you can keep this primary circle of people happy, You have no more worries in life. You will even be happy, if you have nothing to leisure on. But, it will drive you to get your basic necessities and will not leave one’s life in idle. You will know if your desires are worth or not, if you reach optimum living within this circle. For married people: Be sincere. For youth/unmarried: Don’t screw around and be sincere to the only one who you wish to live with. Start living a family life as soon as you can. But be mature in your thinking first.

Family. Your parents and siblings. Take care of them in what ever ways you can. Probably an unconditional support. Never neglect any, even if they do. Keep them happy if you could afford it. Don’t be stingy with your excess. But be cautious, If you can’t keep your primary circle happy or don’t think you are capable of living up to your family’s expectations, then don’t even attempt to move to the second circle. The reason, you will never find happiness. Your unfinished desires in your primary circle will stop you. But never the less, don’t neglect anybody in your family.

Public. First thing first, never attempt to keep the world happy or change the world if you have not completed your optimum living in the first two circles. You will dig your own grave if you do not have the proper base support(first 2 circles) to do anything regarding the public. Proper example, would be people getting themselves involved in politics. If you desire to serve the people, make sure you have served your first two circles in the first place.

Never ever doubt or question your life, if you have not fulfilled your circles. End of of the day, the world’s happiness is you. If you are happy, and if you can keep your primary circle happy. It goes on and on….

As the pathless penguins picturised above, where is our faith on our astonishing planet heading to? Are we already taking steps to change this planet? Maintaining our planet’s health practically. Its not only the researchers, authorities or enthusiasts capabilities and responsibilities to keep this earth green and safe. What about normal people like us? What are the possible things that ordinary people could do? Based on what has been happening for the past months,

Stop partying on Earth Day/ Earth Hour and start taking some immediate actions rather than having a pool party?

Turning off taps is the least we could do. Switching off lights is the least we could do. But often we fail to.

What about investing in nature? Plant more trees/plants around you. Create a greener atmosphere.

Blog about your ideas, technologies that you know could make the planet healthier, household tips, energy saving ideas,….

Change the papers on your printer’s tray to recycled papers.

Most of all, sort your garbage to the appropriate bins/bags. Do not mix your food waste with recyclable materials. Separate them.

What are your green tips, tech and trends? It would be really wonderful, if you my fellow readers would join along me, to discover the possibilities in preventing this planet from significant disasters. I feel its really important for us to have such post in-between to keep our selves awake from the destructions we are making and solutions that is needed to aid our planet’s health.

Bitching!

You may get the limelight to some extent. I’ve seen it worked to some extent but here’s the catch. If you do it right, you get known but if you fail to, you are going to bombarded.

Bitching may be done two ways. Either constructive or destructive.

If you are like me, either one of them can’t be as important as both is, as I tend to mix both all the time. Well, bitching constructively, would simply mean, by bringing conversations back to your content about other peoples blog post, tweets, videos, and any other form of communication while giving your positive views on it. At the same time, participating in their community by interacting with the original content provider himself and with his/hers community. For those who don’t get this community thing, I just meant the comments/reply sections. And, when I mean positive, its all about interacting and gaining trust, hope, and credibility with the creator and his community.

On the other hand, destructive bitching also aims to gain trust, hope & credibility but in a more tensed manner. Forget about the @$@%^! kind of comments, that are by pure jerks but what I’m trying to get attention is the proper way of bitching in a destructive manner while making sure it’s a win-win situation for both. If you feel something is just not right, bring back the conversations and restate them. Go back to the original content provider & his/hers community and do provide tensed feedback but avoid being aggressive. People always fail in this part as they try to prove them selfs right and the creator is wrong while ending up in a very aggressive manner. You see the key here is to maintain positive relationships.

Therefore you have to know how not to sound like an angry shark but more of a snake. I think I’m getting a bit too subjective on my descriptions here. Sorry for that, I’m just trying to get my point out. Experiment your methods. You never what works!

The main focus here, is to get into the conversation. It’s not stalking. Anything is known as stalking only if you invade ones personal space in a timeline. Never the less, make sure you don’t sound like a jerk by doing either.

Is it that difficult to love what you do, being different at the same time while making a stand in public? Walking down my experiences over this few months, it saddens me to see people who believed to be professionals are just not doing things right I suppose. Everyone seems to be happy with what they know and do not even initiate creative thoughts on anything they do. Right from technological innovation to agriculture, if there was no one person who thought differently and took a stand for his or hers idea, where would we be today? Could we have been developed as how we are today? Questions as such ignites you for a second to sit back and think of what have man contributed to civilization, ethics & cultures.

When we work or have a passion in an interest/hobby, we tend to do just what we know for a very long time. How many of us have actually contributed extra in the sense of creativeness in our daily jobs? Most people I have seen are clearly clueless on diversifying themselves as they have become very inclined towards a particular field they are related to. Sadly, even the creative fields are just the same. Is it due to a regional mass culture influence? I’m pretty clueless if people were to point me at such a view. How difficult is it for someone to think out of the box? How difficult is it for someone to go all out on researching/participating on online media for resources or even the nearest library? All for the purpose of providing extra-ordinary service and products.

Do cultures play a part in the way most people think? Is it why, many people have a perception that only the west have such capabilities because of their very self-centered/individualistic thoughts? No. Not at all. Those are the regions where even Romeo & Juliet originated as how we have Mumtaj & Shahjahan in the east. Love and care for others do exist in everyone precisely. They are not as self centered as how some of us are here in the name of collectivity. We are all humans. It is how we get used to a common mindset. Everyone has his or hers own rights and feelings. We can be as diversified as how they do if only we want.

The days are gone where you have a single profession. An interest of yours today is as good as your profession if a little perfection were to be imposed. Some may argue in sense of time and schedules. That is not even an excused to be heard. It is how we plan our self. Is it how we perceive ourselves. It is how we shape the right attitude. Its gone the days where we have the separation between the worker and the thinker. It order to succeed in your diversified passions, you need to be a combination of both. Always think out of the box. Don’t be too comfortable with what we know today. Keep learning. Keep expanding. Aim to perfection. Imagine and work the impossibles. Your limelight, is on it’s way. Do not stop no matter who says what. Be focused and rock on.
Does your opinion matter to some corporate companies or groups etc..? Do you think they listen? Some do, I must say but there’s a limit and you should know what it is. You have to make sure you have your facts right. If you are just going to give another post that says.. “Aaaa Yes Me To”… kind of stuff, it’s not going to go anywhere…. but you could gain a couple of yawns. So wake up!

Thinks not to do :

Immature Complains – Well search this term (slow streamyx) on google blog search and you would know what I mean.

Don’t give ideas as though you’re the only person trying to change the world.

Stop the “me to” type of post – I support this and that etc etc.. You get the point.

Thinks to do :

Be opinionated for your readers only! not aimed at respective companies/parties.

The goal is to share therefore creating a value is your concern. Think before you hit the publish key if your post will be helpful to some extent!

There is no harm on sharing your personal life with a crowd yet do make sure you know what is appropriate. No one want’s to read your poem, love letters or your latest fight with your girlfriends/boyfriends.

This issue is solely based on my opinions and how I feel about it. So the motive is to share some tips that Aattam 100 vagai team should take into count. Every piece of opinion should be at least taken into count, if they were to do a postmortem or so. That’s my job here on this blog. To share some ideas right? Yet, lets move on why aattam 100 vagai is a disgrace to the Indian community if it is to continue as it is today.

Why is the show portraying Indians in a very dodgy manner ? What’s with the slangs and reggae culture? Can’t that be prevented. Modernization is what we need, but what’s portrayed here are not what modernization actually suppose to be. It feels rather dodgy. It may lead people into a wrong culture guys. Keep classy. That’s what we need.

Costumes - Why are you making the participants look like clowns? Can’t the team arrange some sort of guidelines to show some sort of classiness? What’s with the striking colours. Do you provide such colour codes? Simple, have a look on recent movies and check out the costumes used by the troops. They look way much better than what you are allowing the participants to wear. Common, this is show telecast we are talking about here! Why can’t we be showing an uplift on our image?

Professionalism – Show scripts, host outfits, planning, protocols, gosh the list goes on… The only thing rocks here are the sets.

In terms of participant props and so on, what’s with all this extra unnecessary stuff here? Its a dance show for god’s shake. We are budding future celebrity dancers here. Don’t mistake me, we really need to take this into count as the uplift of the participants personal images is way much more important then anything else.

There should be some training center for this guys who participate. Before they go for the audition sessions to be chosen, they should be fit to dance. Mind me, I do not intend to look down upon anyone. Dancing is seriously a tough thing to do and its not meant for everyone. Im not perfect. No one is. But, why can’t professionalism be shown on sets. It looks more like the participants are dancing for the fun of it and not for real showmanship. A reminder to people who join such events. It’s not about the fame. Fame does not take you anywhere. It’s all about the quality of the end product you provide. That would keep you running for ever.

The new year is approaching us around the corner. Well, in todays social web, there have been an enormous rage of web products out there for you to choose. Whether its to make you an internet superstar or a good internet Samaritan, we need to use the best out of the best. As another good Samaritan, I have compiled a list of must use applications in order to make the internet a better place for you and others.

As far as I’m concern, I would use most of them, but there are some tools where I already have better paid softwares to get them done. For instance, my calendaring, I have iCal on my mac and therefore I omit the use of Google Calendar. This web tools are basically for the general audience. A list for everyone. Use the one’s that best fits you.

In terms of “best fits you”, I do not use delicious to save my bookmarks as I like to keep it synced within my macs. That’s just me. But my purpose of delicious usage are to share great links with you out there. Thus being a good Samaritan. That goes same for google share pages, where I collect interesting articles for a weekly compilation post on this blog. So well, lets get onto the list.

Continuation post to the previous addict routine. I wanted to continue, so that it would help me understand how much I have gone as well, help others and me if we were to be stuck at some points. Sometimes you would wake up and everything seems blur.

Wake Up

Emails - Basic. Check mails, If there is any immediate replies needed attend immediately. Do not take too much of time. Advice to split this activity twice a day.

Login to Google – I would login to google, in order to save bookmarks on things that I come across through my RSS feeds on my mail client. I refrain from using delicious as I find it easier to share with Google Share Page. BTW, this is where I collect pages and form the Weekly In Social Web post. I would start to provide link of the share page, incase anyone was interested to view in real time what I was finding. P/S : You could track my activities via FriendFeed now days or just watch the widget on the right that says “Activity Around The Web”.

Twitter/Twhirl – Launches. Monitors/Listens to the world of word of mouth! Besides twitter, Twhirl launches my FriendFeed as well, which keeps me up to date with people and situation of personalities online that matters to me. For example, I would take Vickneswaran. I have added him as an imaginary friend. Now I instantly receive his activities in real time, whether its a tweet, a blog post, a flickr image upload or any other 46 famous social services. I am watching you Vickneswaran!

RSS/Podcast – This happens constantly. When ever I have breaks. I would read what’s new on my RSS and listen to some podcast. Lots of people recommend Google Reader. Well I use my mac mail reader. I find it saves my time much more. Subscribe to possibly everything you want to know about. This will save a huge amount of your precious time by typing the page url and so on. If the news is interesting on your reader, open up the page. In this case, I open up this pages and share it with you on Google Share. Subscribe to blog feeds, news feeds, digg feeds, google alert feeds, twitter queries & everything else possible.

Blog – I blog a lot. I kind off find time when ever I can, to jot down points or immediately make a post. Time varies but mostly after sun set. You think better!

IM – Once I’m done dealing with other stuffs in life, and if I have a client meeting online, I would normally IM or Skype with them. I refrain from going online often currently unless cliental work related. Rest, I communicate on Twitter & Emails.

Facebook/Linked In – Clean it up. Do not take anything more than half hour. Recognize a face? Add as your friend. Make sure you know them. On a professional stage, met someone in your professional arena today? I ask for their linked in profile and check them in.

Time for BED! Well, this routine normally goes by this order. But it may vary. Besides that, there are certain tools such as Seemic, commenting on others blogs, mybloglog, etc that comes in-between of all this main activities. Actually, I spend a lot of my time commenting. Ermm, well that’s all folks. Another updated routine.

With all this! I’m updated with so much of information. I often have an information overload crisis! A new social habit of mine since the last routine would be listening. Im listening to peoples conversation to keep up. For example, I’m monitoring all local bloggers activity from blog post to Vimeo videos. Kind of learning trends I guess as well to make sure I know what’s cooking around.

Join me along, have your routine up as well. Just link back the post with my name Saravanan Sahadevan or mention Saravanan Sahadevan on your tweets, I come haunting you.

I used to be great fan and as well a sincere user of entrecard for couple of months now. I promoted it so much to fellow friends and the local blogoshpere. I brought it so much value to me personally. The ability to find great new blogs and to connect with each other was amazing. Often you used to get entrecard users dropping by and commenting and so on. And you would do the same.

However, things seem to be going down the drain lately, ever since the launch of the entrecard toolbar and certain commercial attractions. The firefox toolbar has caused a serious impact on how I now view entrecard and it has even been giving results of my expectations. It’s become traffic exchange!

No more sincere blog authors who are seeking for connection and to willingly post a comment or two on each other. How does the toolbar effect such? Well, all you have to do is to access a entrecard enabled site and hit drop on the toolbar. This increases users speed and saves so called “time”. At this point, people in fact, could drop a card before the site could have started loading. Well, although its a factual statement, as usual, it is being practiced by 90% of entrecard users today.

So, has entrecard served its purpose? For now, NOT AT ALL! We do not need traffic that are irrelevant to us. I would rather explore more ways to gain organic targeted traffic rather then, free inflows. This proves it all. Nothing comes free! You need content as content is KING! Off you go entrecard.

P/S: Im replacing the entrecard corner with a Friendfeed widget. More on that later. For a quickie, its basically a timeline of all my activities on the web.
I just had the mood to start video’s, well I know I’m not a fancy video dude, but I guess I need to do more in order to get the hang of it. Its kind of like “So much to say yet you stone when you face the camera”. Is that normal?

Anyway, back to topic. I would like to take this opportunity to call of my dear fellow blog authors to join me on the ride to preach the awesomeness of the Internet! That line got your attention?

Well, instead of telling people to try this tool that tool etc etc.. and explaining the social media, lets just create new possible methods, possibly old fashion methods to get the “real world” people such as non-bloggers, non-tech folks, people who just don’t give a damn on how things work. How are we going to define their interest and get them hooked onto such tools as twitter as so on.

This would be the main issues that this organization needs to tackle and promote.

So why do this?

We need to create volume. When we do, it seriously creates so much opportunity for people living in the Asian region to create serious business opportunities. When the volume is there, even ordinary people from the public might come up with great start up ideas. We just need to give a spark. A serious spark. Start being open on what you do. Of course there is privacy. Lets communicate with video’s, audio’s & text instantly.

Of course, we would want all our Asian friends to join us in this venture but I’m not being skeptical or what so ever, I feel more Indians should start shining out. Lets create awesome rocking content and volumes that could bring another dot-com bubble for the global Indian economy! That’s nice to say & hear! Common I know you want to be part of it!! Lets rock!

P/S : Lots of thoughts were put together in one single post. Order of post may be disoriented. Hope you get the point. You may clarify with me. Thx.

This above is a snapshot of Google trends search on Usability.. So much usage, yet not productive enough?
The way, I see it, there is so much potential for social media growth, and targeted marketing. Yet, Malaysians are not recognized globally and the amount of web development expertise are… hand countable.

If, anyone in Malaysia was to publish a service in a proper ethical, new web methods, social media etc.. There are no reasons why we would be left behind!

So why are we left behind? The answer is simple. Wrong Usage. Wrong Coverage. Wrong Audience.

Below are, the most widely used applications with professionalism standards involved. This are applications that uses social media at its best. Services that provide values for users. I went through couple of famous services and most of them had similar results. To show what I mean, I post below, stats for Twitter & Facebook.

Well, what’s my point here? Malaysia could not be found on any of this benefiting services here. But where are most of the users going to! See Below…

Im amazed.. We are even on the top 10 cities. Well, majority Malaysians are using the internet today for the sake of friend-finding. Yes its social, but please do take a look at the profiles you find at friendster. Its pretty amateur. That’s fine, but its just bunch of useless information and posterity. Exposing your self on the net with all your fancy poses, what’s the point? Is friendster some sort of date service? Don’t mistake me my friends, but this is an ongoing issue. Look at the potential we have yet its being drained into the wrong channels! I understand that the majority users of friendster are schooling teenagers. Well how are we going to create an awareness, it’s totally another issue.

Well, some people may argue with me that Facebook is the same thing, well you are wrong! Do read my previous post on the facebook mutual contact issue for a better understanding.

My dear friends, please wake up. The internet could be a dot-com bubble for our economy as well only if it is put to the right usage. Know the Internet. Know the Social ethics. Know how to Behave. Know Where to go.

Malaysian Broadband industry is currently on a smooth incline towards it’s quality of services and offers. With good incentives from the government and as well opening up doors to a healthy competition which eventually breaks down the TMNet monopoly leads to a revolution it self.

In brief this is what is happening. Firstly 3 major companies earlier this year have been granted the WiMax spectrum license as you may know by now. These companies are Packet One(Subsidiary of Green Packet), YTL-eBusiness & Asiaspace. With the WiMax option provided, now there so much room for growth which is actually happening. Currently P1 has been operating in Kuala Lumpur and has recently gained license to operate in Penang as well.

One of the most exciting things the federal government of Kuala Lumpur and state government of Penang have announced are free WiFi. Over at KL, the federal government have provided funds to P1 to allocate free WiFi hotspots all over KL. This free period is approximately for 2 years but it is deemed to continue on. Register now @ WirelessKL to make use of it. I was told that currently there are 160 hotspots allocated and it’s still growing. Besides KL, in Penang, the company that would be providing the free WiFi service is Redtone.

Since our TMNet ethernet connection infrastructures are poor, the government has also signed up on a cool deal with TM on upgrading its broadband services. Which is a good thing. This benefits majority of us as our landlines are from TM and there is no other way to get connected. If you were to switch to other providers, it would be insanely pricy as there is no volume on the competitors side.

Overall Im pretty happy with the progress on broadband awareness in the country although its slow. It would slowly open up clogged minds of those who had weird thoughts about the internet in general I hope! To my estimations and based on ongoing affords, 2nd quarter of 2010 would be a good deadline to mark improvements and broadband standardization.

A Facebook spokesperson says “To simplify this a bit, users on Facebook cannot have more than one account and creating another account for the purpose of playing this game violates our Terms of Use. We recognize and appreciate that each person uses Facebook based on their own interests and preferences and are happy to see people meeting new friends on Facebook. To ensure users are comfortable on the site and not burdened by unsolicited contact, we encourage users to add people that reflect their real-world connections and create trusted networks.” - Michael Arrington, Techcrunch

Adding to the above, Facebook is actually saying not to fake accounts and please only use Facebook to Mirror the real you, and your real social graph. That means you are not encouraged to use Facebook to find friends or add people you really don’t know in order to purposely increase your friends list. Which completely makes sense and it is ethical.

Now there are a couple of points and questions that I would like you to ponder at below in regards of Why you should not abuse the Facebook social graph purpose.

It’s pointless – Well I ask you, do you know who you are adding? Does the person whom you added or going to add knows you? Is the relationship mutual in both ways?

It’s ain’t cool - Having 1000’s of friends? For what? Do you get the respond you need? Are you a valuable asset to the person you added and vice-versa?

It’s inappropriate - Why do you need to know unwanted informations such as the favorite movie or the favorite drink of the unknown person you added? Why are you making his or hers information irrelevant to you when you made an irrelevant move in the first place? However, you should be worrying about the person you are actually going to go out with in reality or at least some mutual connection in near future.

It’s not helpful – Are you sure you are going to get help or advise when you really need them from your 1000’s of friends list? Would they help you in any other way? For example, I have Chris Brogan in my friends list. He is not a direct contact of mine. But he did fall on my real social graph. Why? I followed him from day one. I made a mutual connection with him. I communicated with him. Eventually, he became an online mentor to me in a way. Now this relationship exist and therefore, it makes sense for me to add him.

In Conclusion – Be real, be you, be your social graph. That’s the only way, social media could help you and others.

I am not skeptical in adding friends. Well, if you have a reasonable reason to network, then it should go through. Think about it in this angle; Facebook is your contact memory of your brain in virtuality. It remembers everyone you know and would love to keep in contact with. Your brain would not store strangers wouldn’t it ? So why should Facebook do?
I think I would to take some time to mention this people’s and their blogs from time to time. Most of them are people who I truly adore and respect. They each have their own special qualities at their end. I’m honored to share who they are with you guys.

Meet Jim Estill. He is currently the CEO of SYNNEX, a computer distribution company. Jim is a unique and humble person. Being a CEO, Jim is someone who deeply believes that the correct time management leads to one’s success.

I recently had emailed Jim on his success and His reply was, ” Your success will depend on how you spend your time“. That was his primary advice. Secondly, I had the privilege to read his Time Management e-book. I would highly recommend anyone reading this entry to get it. I am overwhelmed on how time plays such a vital role. We knew it but we just did not try.

Currently Jim blogs at CEO Blog and this is his RSS feeds. Do take some time to actually read his materials. Every post is a gainer.

Recently, I had to present a talk on my friendly topic Social Media to a general crowd. I prepared a not too short presentation and I have converted it into text. It’s pretty basic and it’s just an introduction of the whole picture of what social media is about. Feel free to pass it out around to anyone trying to figure out on “What the heck is Social Media”. The whole presentation are as follows.

The Internet has been a vibrant medium over the years which has been filled with enormous amounts of static pages and information. The medium itself has been continuously growing since the booming era’s of the 90’s. But in the last 3 years in pursuit, there has been a significant change on the Internet. The beginning of the 2nd generation internet users has lead into an evolution of the internet in to what we call today as the Web 2.0 and more recently, it has been redefined and has created a subset known as the Social Media.

A common way to illustrate social media is by marking out or comparing it with Main stream media. When we say main stream media, it actually consist of the common media platforms such as newspapers, magazines, radio channels, television networks and so on. This platforms are more often not interactive and where majority of our human populations rely upon for information, entertainment and education. Where else, Social Media is never static. It’s highly interactive. When a content is produced and distributed over the internet, there is now a room for feedback. It may be in the forms of comments or ratings. As social media evolves, the options of feedback grows too. As by many definitions, the term Social Media is best described as tools, websites and softwares on the web that allows people to connect and share.

Content over Social Media is distributed on 4 forms which is text, image, audio and video. However, this forms are channeled into various social media platforms as we call it. These common platforms are as follows.

Blogs & Microblogs – The word blog is a contraction of the term called Web Logs. Often individuals use this as a platform to publish post of interest. Commonly the post is displayed in a reverse-chronological order. A typical blog would consist of text, images, links and other media related to its niche. The fact that makes a blog a social media platform are the ability to put down a comment on a particular blog post. Notice that now there is an immediate interaction going on with the author of the post and commenters. This could not happen in mainstream platforms such as newspapers. Now this is a serious advantage for the editorial industry. Looking deeper into blogs, we have another platform called, Microblogging which consist streams of post that are very short in nature. Example of a popular Microblogging network application would be Twitter. Twitter restricts you to a post of only 140 characters and that is a length of a text message.

Wiki’s – Wiki is a page or a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who access it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wiki’s are often used today for collaborative purposes and to power community based websites. For instance, the collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia is one of the best known wiki’s on the web.

Social Networks – Social Networks are virtual communities that allows people to connect within their interest or beyond that. The ability to socialize online has become very interactive in the recent days. It has come to a state that it is even possible for people to virtually poke and provide a virtual bear hug. The most used social network online till date would be Facebook that has over 70 million users on its community. People these days use this networks to not only socialize but even to market a brand or product and even find a job.

Social App’s (Web Applications) – Social Web Applications are web applications that allows people to create contents and as well have the ability to share them with friends or the public. For a better understanding, we would look at Evernote ; a social remember everything software. Evernote allows you to capture information in any environment using whatever device or platform and makes this information accessible and searchable from anywhere. At the same time, It has the ability to share this information at instant to anyone you like. The whole backbone of the system is the web 2.0 architecture known as cloud computing.

Well, we can say Social Media is important as the capacity of audience in it is pretty huge. With facts such as 115 million blogs tracked by Technorati last quarter, 70 over million users on Facebook, and 70 over million videos shared on Youtube says it all. This enormous volume has already reached the eyes of large corporates and they have already begin serious campaigns on brand awareness and customer relationships. As you can see, the power of social media is the ability to share and rate information. This would really impact us in the future in a positive way as informations would become rich in value. To sum it all up, I would say that Social Media is a change or shift in how people communicate more efficiently and how people provide values in content authority.

People complain to me that its difficult to maintain a schedule even with all the batch posting. Well I have to admit. I’m not superman. I face it all the time. Batch posting as well does not work for eveyone.

But wait, it might work if we set realistic goals..

Create a constant flow. A flow that I have seen people like Shel Israel or Jonathan Fields keeps up with. Try posting every 2 to 3 days one’s and stick to it. Announce it as a routine post for your loyal readers. The key in attracting people and to show that you are committed is constancy. I have talked about constancy in past and I must say, Never Fail To Do So. You may add extra post at any point of time at any day. That eventually gives an extra to expectation. But I remind you again keep going constant first.

If you were to use batch posting in this situations, plan it for your routine days. Every alternate days perhaps.

Besides improving your task schedules, there is another plus point in doing so. Quality of post generally increases and that is what we need to execute. This happens as we are not cramping schedules or straining for ideas. Im sure within the two days between your next post, you would have figured out on a solid post. Stick to that and develop it.

That’s not enough! Don’t forget Social Media.

A fact we all have to admit is that, the internet never sleeps. It’s possible for people to forget you today if you were only gone for a day. Well it happens :)

The days you don’t have post or content written on your blog, try to be really active on your favorite social networks. Pick a few networks. Don’t burn out by attempting to be active on all. That’s crazy. Pick the one’s that fits you best.

For instance Twitter. Do not let Twitter be a chore to you. Its a form of communication and accept it. Make it a daily routine to communicate with others via Twitter. Connect with Facebook. Stumble a few sites. Gain a stand on the entire social network. This enriches your presence on the web.

Pumping in great content everyday at all this networks is beneficial to you as they are to others. Make sure you pump some content and distribute it on the social networks. May it be as little as 140 characters. The key is “Give to get“, never forget that. Create your presence wisely. Prove you are human and you rock. Last but not least. Spend extra hours if you need to. If you want to rock, you need to sacrifice at least a little. No pain no gain!

In no time, You are recognized !

Many people out there, who is crazy about Friendfeed, there is a good news for you. The Friendfeed team has released a new embed widget for you blogs/profiles. It has all your recent content and amount of contents stated. You could then again select individual services to be published as well.

On the other hand, those who are not interested on Friendfeed, get a grasp of it and you too could use this widget to full use. Have it as a social feed reference on a sidebar widget or even a dedicated page for it. Some guys like Chris Pirillo is using a similar way to put up his Social Me page.

Here’s the link to the widget.

Indian serials may cause brain damage?

Well not directly but indirectly. To be more accurate, Indian serials may lead to self depression and anxiety. The reason is simple. What does most Indian serials consist?

Family problems, sorrow’s, betrayals, depressed emotions & the list goes on… being negative of course.

I’m saddened on the ever growing industry of the Indian serials that seems to be coming up with more and more family problem oriented serials. I’m not too sure where this is leading to. But I’m confident enough to say that this is misleading current and future generations of Indian mankind.

The cause of such disturbing serials leads to mentality change. People’s attitude and approach towards life becomes very shallow.

I hope a change is made soon on mainstream entertainments.

Besides that, I’m many who follow me would know about Mediavatharam. Well with Mediavatharam in mind, I’m beginning my venture deeper into the production of Indian New Media content. Contents that would be niched. Content’s that was desired to be seen on main stream. Well, as the saying goes “Social Media, powered by the people for the people.”
