Hopefully we will be able to have the upcoming races still on the 28th and 29th. At least I have had the opportunity to do some more prep work around here for the coming season.

The trails have a bunch more intersection signs on them and we have walked around them and cleaned them off a couple of times. We just need the snow. The mountain across the lake is white on the very top, other than that there is nothing here.

click here to continue reading]]> The New Jersey Biathlon Team of Joe Iwan (with a little help from Brian Halligan) won the relay race at the Eastern Biathlon Festival. Joe was the only NJ representative and ran both the first and third leg of the race, with Brian Halligan running the second leg (approximately 2 minutes after running the first leg for New York). In second place was the Pennsylvania team of Hilary Saucy, Scott Sick, and Doug Hoover. The New York team of Brian Halligan, Tom Moffett, and Deb Nordyke rounded out the podium.

Relay Results

The Pennsylvania team easily took the Eastern Biathlon Festival Championship with 175 points, runner up New York scored 124, and New Jersey was third with 81.

click here to continue reading]]> Pennsylvania has jumped out to an 18 point lead over New York after the first day of competition at the 2011 Eastern Biathlon Festival. The PA women took the first four spots on the day, lead by Hilary Saucy. In the men’s race Joe Iwan from New Jersey ran the best time of the day.

Results from the Sprint race (overall)

Sean Halligan took the overall victory in the Accuracy match, beating Curt Schreiner in the finals.

The racing concludes tomorrow with a relay race.
