I have just came across with a song that I liked. It is from the movie named The Fountain. I don’t really remember it that much. But all I can say is that it was about “Death” and the main question was “what if you could live forever?”

I absolutely love this piece and it touches my heart every time I listen to it. It expresses so many things that are simply cannot be expressed in words.

As written on Brain Crain’s website, this song was a gift for his young daughter Sienna, and not for the city in Tuscany, Italy. I should admit now that when I first heard it, I have Googled “Sienna” and thought that the city should be a perfect place for Brian to produce such a gentle and calming piece.

Though it is not for the city Sienna, I hope I will go there and listen to this song over and over.

But this was the first Talk given by a Turkish person, Elif Shafak, and the most fun translation that I have ever made.

“The Politics of Fiction” being the title of the Talk, Shafak is telling how powerful stories are in conveying a message. Reading and listening stories widens the imagination; telling them lets us leap over cultural walls, embrace different experiences, feel what others feel. She builds on this simple idea to argue that fiction can overcome identity politics.

From now on; I will try to write posts about the translations that I have made. Until then, the other Turkish translations are available here.

Waiting for getting an admission, I have received an email from the group yesterday and learned that I have been accepted.

Eventually, I am the 1038th member of LKD and I am very proud of it.

I have started analysing the system that they have designed to control all the members and listing the things that I can do to help improve the group’s quality. So far, I really liked the organization and the people involved in this group.

First thing I should say is that I really like to indulge in learning, exploring, sharing, and enjoying in the world we inhabit.

I have been reading some stuff written by others, and thinking of having a blog to share my experiences about my main fields of interest. So basically, I have created this blog to make my thought come alive and, of course, to be able to broaden my knowledge. Hopefully, seeing the readers have benefited from my writings will inspire me to write some more, and read a lot more, write a lot more, and learn some more…

As a rule of thumb, I will go along with providing my writings in both Turkish and English. However, I think, translating the content from one to the other will be quite annoying and strange in some cases. So, I will not be doing that. Instead, I will try to keep the subject alive as much as possible while translating.

All that remains for me is to wish you happy reading (I hope!) and to say; feel free to comment, review, etc.
