Sister Aditi is back from Shirdi and she feels very fortunate to carry prayers with her.I am attaching her mail and also some snaps which she wishes to share with all of us .I am very thankful to her for sharing snaps and detail of her Shirdi trip .Below is her mail attached in detail .Jai Sai Ram .

OM SAI RAM DEAR SAI DEVOTEE'S AND FRIENDS,

Firstly I am sorry dear friends for being a little late in replying back to let you all know how my trip went and about the prayers sent for Baba! I know you all must be eagerly awaiting to hear back from me :).

But with your best wishes and regards my trip to the holy abode of our Sai baba, Shirdi, was my most memorable and best one till date!and thanks to baba and his watchfulness I returned back home from my tirth to Shirdi and surrounding places on 16th evening.

Thus sharing some of my personal experiences with u all, as some of you all had requested as well to let you know how was my trip and darshan. Therefore am not replying back personally to everyone just now, but have rather written a common email for all those who trusted me to take their prayers to Shirdi Sai baba!

The prayers that you all sent to be taken to Shirdi, I took with me, prayed on everyone's behalf and placed it 1st at Dwarkamai and then at Samadhi Mandir for Baba's blessing and acceptance, not only once but twice, i.e 13th March and 14th March!

I had reached Shirdi on 12th evening which was a miracle itself as I was supposed to get off at Nasik, even though Manmad was much nearer to Shirdi, and everyone had told me that i should have booked the ticket for Manmad but the train on which our ticket got confirmed doesn't stop at Manmad. but I guess Sai baba had other plans as on that particular day it stopped at Manmad for exactly 5 minutes or so and on the suggestion of the train attendant and his help we got down quickly and as soon as we got off, the train started to move.

For few minutes both me and my friend were dumbstruck at this little miracle of Baba! maybe if Baba had not intervened at the right time, we would not have reached Shirdi in time for attending the Shej arti at 10:30 pm for which my cousin had arranged VIP passes for us!

Then on next day that is 13th & 14th early morning around 5:30- 6:00 am, I took the prayers sent for Baba 1st Dwarkamai and then Samadhi mandir for Baba's blessing! and on both occasions the priest at both places (Dwarkamai and Samadhi mandir ) placed the folder of prayers on Baba's feet and Samadhi and also returned it to me with bunch of flowers. this happened on both days. On these occasions I must say that the guards and sevak's of baba always greeted to me pleasantly and never pushed me or asked me to rush, as they were asking so many other devotee's due to heavy rush being a weekend. In fact they helped me and let me stand for a few minutes, while the priest took his time to take and offer my prayers folder and vastra!

The vastra that I had taken were on behalf of my parents for Baba, which were accepted by him on 13th March and worn by Baba on 14th March at Madhayan Arti, and by his grace even though I could not take any snaps, Baba gave me the opportunity to see it when vastra were being changed for noon arti.

Even though due to huge rush on weekend i could not attended the main Madhayan arti, despite of having got in the Que at 10:30 am again but Baba arranged my viewing in such a manner that while in the Que for darshan inside the Mandir, i got a chance to stand just near the TV showing live telecast of the Samadhi Mandir.

It so happened that the two people in front of me, left the Que seeing the rush and crowd,and went out without taking darshan of baba as they said that they had a train to catch and if they waited any more they would miss it. and for me to express my feeling and sentiments seeing baba being dressed in the vastra offered by my parents in words is very hard, as i was totally in tears, thanking baba for this wonderful blessing.

Thus all i can say is that baba is truly great and kind :) ! as it was my wish to see baba in those vastra while i was in Shirdi and that's what baba did, he fulfilled my this wish as well along with accepting the prayer's i took, for which ill always be grateful to Sai baba!

Once again many thanks to Baba for giving me this wonderful and noble opportunity to take the prayers of all the devotees who trusted me and wrote me their prayers! its because of all your well wishes that i had such a good darshan and tirth to Shirdi.

Also dear friends I am attaching here with this email snaps of Sai baba, which I took at a Sai dham ashram / mandir near Shirdi on 13th evening after Dhoop arti, where photography was not prohibited. And also in these snaps the vastra that baba is wearing is in the same combination as the one my parents sent with me to offer baba, thus these picture of baba are very special for me and wanted to share the same with you all :)...hope you all like it as well and accept it as a blessing of Sai baba.

May Baba bless us all always and fulfill all our wishes and desires!
May Baba also forgive us for all are sins and mistakes committed knowing or unknowingly!

Sai Baba,Sai Satcharitra and Udi's Healing Power -Experience Of Sai Revant Bisht.

Dear all,
Wish you a Very Happy Baba's day ,
It is a tested truth that it is the fruit of accumulated merits in past births which enables us to seek the company of Saints and get benefited from it. Unfortunate are those who do not get this company. It is only the fortunate ones that get it. (From SSC -Chapter 21.)

This is also true for all the Sai children as well .We, who have come under the shelter of Baba, are fortunate ones. It is our previous relationship with Him that has drawn us to Him today. I consider all of us very fortunate that Baba has chosen us and we can serve Him in this birth and learn what Baba asked us to follow and improve our merit of karma.

Last week, on Friday night, when the following hair raising incident took place at 1.30 in midnight, I felt very strongly the presence of Baba.
This miracle indeed showed how faith can change the situation into our favor. And, of course, to witness this miracle, I attribute it to BABA's kindness who blessed us to realize this.

All these years, me and my family have witnessed presence of Baba several time in different forms where He is Guiding, Protecting and Teaching lessons for our betterment .Yesterday, it was another landmark.

It was almost midnight when we were suddenly woken up by a loud and panicking cry of my younger son Revant .We rushed to his bed, switching the lights on to see that he was bleeding profusely and his face was all covered with blood. He was holding his hand near his nose and his face was full of blood and the night shirt was soaked in blood .I was taken aback and was not able to understand what to do?

I rushed to him to control his blood, but I failed to stop bleeding even after wiping it with lot of cotton and napkin repetitively. The flow of blood was in high speed and in full force. I had never seen so much of blood oozing from nose. Generally it is very common to see children having nose bleed due to heat stroke or dry nose but this was not the same it was very scaring sight .

Almost all the napkins soaked in blood and nothing worked to stop or control the blood. I felt helpless and was in state of shock and my husband was rushing with cold packs and water to keep his head cool. Suddenly in that state of shock and trying to reason out what should be done a strong thought of Baba striked like a thunder and I started chanting Sai Naam -Om Sai ,Om Sai Om Sai.......non stop.
Seeing blood all around him,my son was shivering with fear and shock ,not knowing what is going to happen and he started crying loudly . As I was uttering the Sai Naam Jaap I did not panic from his crying and told him boldly to stop crying and chant Baba’s name. Very emphatically, I said “If you chant Baba’s name the blood will stop, but if you will cry it will not” .So he started chanting Baba’s name Om Sai ,Om Sai, Jai Sai ,Jai Sai . ...with me and my hubby.

While the chanting was going on still there was no sign of blood flow to slow or reduce. The speed was great and almost half packet of paper napkin was soiled with blood.

In the midst of helplessness, I promised Baba to visit His temple in Dar es Salaam the very next morning. I also said to my son to promise to Baba that he will go to the temple next morning if the blood stops. My son obeyed me. I told my husband to put some money as Dakshina at the feet of Baba at that very moment while the blood was oozing out . And he did that .

Both of us could not reason how to stop the blood ,and how to tackle the problem and than I looked at Baba’s picture in Sai Mandir which is in boys room. I suddenly hurried my hubby to get Sai Satcharitra and Baba’s Udi while I was trying to hold my son and clean the blood (This thought also I am sure was blessed by Baba ,as nothing moves without His Will.) .

And than I was wonder struck to witness Baba’s miracle. As soon as I placed Sai Satcharitra on the forehead of my son and applied Udi on his nose and gave him a pinch of Udi in the mouth , the blood which was gushing profusely and uninterruptedly stopped suddenly within 20 seconds -not even a minute!!!.

Seeing this I was full of tears,I could clearly see the blood stop instantly. I felt Baba’s presence in the form of Sai Satcharitra and Udi.I told my hubby to have a look, (who was standing and holding cold pack on my son's head from behind) to see that there was not even one drop of blood coming out .

He was also taken aback as soon as he saw that the blood has completely stopped and that too within seconds of touching Sai Satcharitra and applying Udi. We witnessed Baba's love and we witnessed the power of Sai Satcharitra and Udi.

Finally everything became normal .
After the blood stopped flowing, my son became calm and still .I started cleaning his face,hand and other body parts which were soiled by blood. While I was cleaning him up I was recollected by the incident that happened with my elder son last year .Like my elder son heard Sainath Stavan Manjari when he was bitten by Marine animal,I Immediately felt that Revant should also hear it and I took out my I pod and played Sainath Stavan Manjari for all of us .

While I was cleaning my son the song kept playing and my son slept hearing the divine composition of Sainath Stavan Manjari by Das Ganu Maharaj .There was no signs of restlessness. Sainath Stavan Manjari is of one hour duration and it really made the whole atmosphere calm and peaceful.I placed the Udi and Sai Satcharitra below the pillow of my son and he was in deep sleep with in few minutes.

While all went to sleep I kept on hearing Stavan Manjari and kept on remembering Sai Baba's name, I could not sleep ,many thoughts ran in my mind and each time the incident came in front of my eye I shivered with the thought -what would have happened if Baba would not have helped in the middle of the night, how much trouble and serious the problem could have become!And than feeling the presence of Baba,I felt relaxed and I also slept with peace and Baba's love .

Early in the morning we went to Baba’s temple and thanked him for his blessing.We all offered our koti koti pranam to the almighty ,most loving Shirdi Sainath who rushed for our help and proved HIS love is unconditional for His children.
Dear readers ,whether the incident is small or big but each incident reaffirms our faith on Baba. Our family has experienced Baba’s blessings on several occasion,and each incident has been a life changing Sai blessed incident and every time it is like we are getting one step closer to our Sainath .This leela also made my boys realize that parents can also be helpless and they too depend on their Supreme parent.I thanked Baba for the blessing showered amidst this incident. The incident sowed another seed of Trust and Devotion by Baba Himself in the heart of both the boys .They not only experienced but also witnessed the eternal power of Baba ,Sai Satcharitra and Udi .

This leela shows that when everything fails, Baba is the only power who comes for help, If we have firm faith on Him , He makes His presence felt.Total surrender to HIS WILL and complete faith on HIM are the two keys which can help us in any situation .

With this incident we also realized the power of Sai Satcharitra and Udi(as I rightly say Udi Ma). Glory of Reading Sai Satcharita and Udi is described in great details in Shri Sai Sathcharitra. This experience reaffirm the greatness of Baba's two unique symbols Sathcharitra and Udi. When we have firm faith on Baba and we are completely devoted to HIM we can witness HIM in Sai Sathcharitra and Udi.

Dear readers finally I would like to say that please do not test Baba .Do not question whether He loves you enough or is taking care of you ?Instead, test yourself if you can love Baba unconditionally ,do we have enough devotion and faith towards Him?Make yourself worthy of HIS Grace. It is only when we completely let the love for God overtake us, it is than we have ample of strength and energy to endure any kind of hurdles of life.I have learnt this lesson very well and I am happy to share this with each one of you.

May the grace and love of Baba envelope one and all and guide us in the right path. Let us pray to earn His grace so that we always know that He is with us and guiding our every move.

My Experience WIth Shirdi Sai Baba-Experience By S.Ramakrishna.

Sai devotee S.Ramakrishna Ji has shared series of Baba's leela from the time he came under Sai Baba's shelter till date to enhance the faith of all the devotees who so ever reads the experiences.The details of the experiences are written below. Jai Sai Ram .

My Experiences With Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.

Introduction:

I don’t remember when exactly Shri Shirdi Sai Baba came into my life. Many years back a small photograph of Baba was given to me by my uncle, who was a staunch devotee of Baba. I kept the photograph in the wall shelf designated the “Pooja Room” in my house.

I performed “Pooja” for the photograph with “Arshana”, “kumkum”, and “Akshate”, as usual, along with the other Deities. I was not particularly drawn towards Baba then. Over a period of time, the photograph deteriorated, and had to be disposed off. At that point, I did feel the need to have another photograph of Baba in place of the previous one.

I requested my mother-in-law to send me a laminated photograph of Baba, so that it wouldn’t deteriorate. She did get a nice laminated photograph of Baba, which I very happily kept in the “Pooja Shelf”. After some time my aunt at Mumbai, advised me (in a particular context), that I should recite “Om Sai Ram” at least ten times while doing “Pooja” daily. This, I followed sincerely, but rather mechanically.

Sometime later, I changed my job and shifted to Hospet in Karnataka. There is a very popular Baba temple in Hospet, but I never really felt like going there. Also, very near to my new work site, there is a Baba temple. I never visited this temple also for a very long time. After some months, our company bought the premises adjacent to the Baba temple. In the meanwhile, a new sub-ordinate joined me who is a devotee of Baba. Since the temple was adjacent to our work premises, I visited this Baba temple with him for the first time. Somehow, I felt drawn towards Baba, and may be, that was the beginning of my induction into Baba’s “Durbar of devotees”.

My first experience: Lost finger ring found.

My sub-ordinate (about whom I have made a mention earlier) is in the habit of chewing tobacco. One day, while we were going around together at the work site, he suddenly found that he had lost his gold finger ring which he was wearing. He was panicky; as the ring had fallen somewhere in the mines site and a whiff of strong wind could cover the finger ring in layers of dust, making it irretrievable. Even I thought that the ring was gone forever.

A flash occurred to me (half in jest), I thought that, since he claimed to be a devotee of Baba, why not he pray to Baba to get him back the lost ring and that, in turn, he would quit chewing tobacco for good. But I didn’t venture to make this suggestion to him for some reason. Just a minute or two after this flash occurred to me, one of our supervisors exclaimed in joy that he had found the ring. I was almost dumbfounded. Was it a coincidence? I wondered? Perhaps! it was Baba’s way of telling me “Yes! I can hear you”.

I was not very close to my sub-ordinate personally, at that time, and I didn’t reveal this to him (I did tell him about this much later on).

Rise in salary:

I was desperately trying to get some assignment abroad, and did appear for an interview. I got selected but was slightly unhappy with the salary offered. On my return, I visited the Baba temple near my work site and thanked him for getting me the job but confessed that I would be happier with a $ 200 rise in salary. The same evening (or may be a day or two later), when I called the HR agency to know about the salary hike that I had asked for – they confirmed to me that the $ 200 rise had been accepted. This came as a surprise as they were not relenting to even a $ 100 hike during my negotiations, with them. I was overjoyed and profusely thanked Baba for answering to my prayers so quickly.

A few days later, I was casually discussing with my wife that when the actual Appointment Order came, it would be great to have a surprise hike of $200 to $300 additional to the finalized and agreed upon salary with the expatriate company. When the Appointment Order came (much later), it was a miracle for me as my salary was hiked by another $300 which I had not even asked for.

Visit to Shirdi:

I now wanted to visit Shirdi. I casually made inquiries from friends and the purohit at the Baba temple about the easiest way to go to Shirdi. I was not keen on going by bus all the way from Hospet, and the train was booked months in advance. A few days later, I got a call from a very reputed company to attend the interview at Poona. Strangely, they were ready to pay the airfare up to Mumbai from my place and from thereon only taxi fare to Pune. I decided to make my Shirdi trip in the same taxi after attending the interview.

Surprisingly, I was the only candidate for the interview and the post they were considering me for, would become functional only in their future plans, and they were not sure if they wanted to take me at that point of time.I happily went to Shirdi after the interview, got Baba’s darshan twice in the night and was able to witness the last “aarthi” at 10:30 p.m.

On my way back, I sincerely thanked Baba for giving me his “darshan”.
It was only much later that I realized that the interview call was just an excuse created by Baba to arrange for my trip to Shirdi since I wished to have his darshan. Why should the company which was ready to bear the air fare upto Mumbai, insist on only taxi fare from Mumbai to Pune? Why was there no other candidate for the interview other than me? Why did I not hear from them at all after the interview?

My introduction to “Satcharita”:

I had come to know about the Sai Satcharitra Parayan by now, and wanted to undertake it. On a Wednesday evening, I wanted to somehow start the Parayan the next day morning (i.e. Thursday), but didn’t have the English copy of Shri Satcharita with me. Our family friend, who is a staunch devotee of Baba, was the only person (to our knowledge), who was likely to have the English copy of Satcharita.

Would she have it? Would she able to spare it at short notice? – These were the questions bogging me. Baba’s grace - she did have it and readily spared it upon our request to me, temporarily for the Sapthaahi. I was very happy and did my first Sapthaahi last year. This copy of Satcharita is a very old edition and I also got attached to it because it was given by another staunch Baba devotee. The kind lady, eventually permitted me to retain the book on permanent basis, and, it is now a treasured integral part of my life.

Disappointments and solace:

I was on an all time high in July 2008 - A confirmed lucrative assignment abroad (I was eagerly awaiting the Appointment Order, to cross the Indian soil), and my new-found Baba’s grace in my life. What more could one ask for in life?

In mid August 2008, a road mishap, suddenly threw my life out of gear. A misdiagnosed fracture at the time of accident led to further complications and I had to undergo a major surgery in February 2009. By then, I had lost my job and was not fit physically to take up the assignment abroad. So, even that slipped through my hands.

I was perplexed, clueless on the sudden turn of events which had led to my downslide.
I was also wondering for sometime as to what went wrong? Why all these calamities befell me despite all the good happenings?

I then started reading, at least one chapter from the Satcharita, daily. It took me quite sometime to come to terms with my state of affairs and Baba made me realized that, I must be repaying for my past karmas - of this, as well as my previous life. But the punya was - that I had become a Sai bhakta before the downfall, which gave me tremendous moral support to cope up with the bad patch of my life.

Baba’s Reassurance:

Eventually, after recuperating for almost 4 to 5 months, I started looking out for another job. The effort was not paying due to the recession hit industry. Also, I was praying to Baba to get me a job of my interest in a particular firm. Prolonged unemployment had drained away all my confidence. One day I almost cried before Baba saying that I wouldn’t be able to manage any interview. The same day my mother-in-law visited Baba temple, prayed for me and picked up a token, to know His message for me. And Lo! When she told me the message, I was dumb struck. The message was “Don’t have any inferiority complex; the person who will help you will be an ordinary man.” The message was exactly the reply to my severe loss of confidence that I was suffering from.

Somehow, this miracle of His, took my love, faith and devotion towards him, to another level altogether.

It was a turning point in my connect with Him. It was solid proof that he was aware of my shortcomings, was hearing to me, and was taking care of me. All these months of unemployment, He saw to it that my standard of living never came down a bit, kept finances trickling in for me from somewhere or the other to keep my household running, without getting into debt.

Help at my Door step:

In the last week of November 2009, I was still jobless and was at the fag end of my financial resources. I prayed to Him saying that further joblessness after December 2009 would put me into debt to run my household, and, only He should prevent me from getting into such a state.
It was a Thursday and I was very much compelled due to my anxiety to pull out a token and get his message for me in the Baba Temple.

The message for me was “Two people will come close together. Something big will happen very soon.”

The following Tuesday, suddenly my father-in-law told me that his close friend had spoken to the proprietor of one of the respectable firms about me and that we would be going in the evening to meet him. He also mentioned that his friend was very close to the proprietor personally. The proprietor and the senior management of the firm were extremely good and I was offered the job without any screening what so ever, just because I was referred personally by the close friend of the proprietor.

The next day I was told that, they would get back to me soon after finalizing my package at their end. How true and exact Baba’s words came out to be!!!! There are no words to describe the same.

Still I was foolishly slightly unhappy as I was craving for a desk job, but it did not materialize.
I also spoke to a great devotee of Baba (about whom I had come to know through one of the blogs) about my apprehensions of accepting the new job. The gentleman was extremely kind, reassuring and goaded me to trust Baba fully as it was Him who had given to job to me and it would be Him only who would see me through with it.

On 1st January 2010, I contacted the management and everything was finalized and I joined duty in a week.

Baba has also been kind to see to it that I was taken care of by my seniors and bosses, and, to be able to discharge my duties respectfully.

Each time I read the Satcharita, I pray to Baba to add on something to the values, that I am slowly imbibing by reading it. I also want to make “NISHTHA” and “SABURI” the pillars of my life. I am praying and want to completely surrender myself to Sainatha and want to remain connected to him all through my present and future life that I might be destined for.

I also am thankful for a forum and way to share my experiences with other Shirdi Sai Baba devotees - world wide and hope to further strengthen my bond earnestly, day-by- day with the all pervasive, timeless, and most importantly - all merciful Sainatha.

Prayers Reached Shirdi On 8 March 2010.

My Aunty is back from Shirdi,she had volunteered the service of taking prayers of devotees to Shirdi. Below is her mail giving the details of her visit.Jai Sai Ram .

My dear Manisha,
The trip to Shirdi was beautiful and peaceful.Geetika had formatted all the prayers received( 35/ 40 pages or more.The pujari ji placed the prayers on the Samadhi and these were there for a while.

While I was saying my prayers I was allowed to stand for 15- 20 minutes in the room next to the Mandir where I could see Baba and in my heart of hearts I asked Baba to acknowledge my prayers. Within a while a guard gave me 2 bunches of roses and a peda.The next day after bowing at the Samadhi another guard gave me some roses.It is indeed Sai"s blessing.

Offering To Baba-Experience By Harini.

Happy Thursday and Happy Baba's day to all ,
Here is an experience shared by Sai devotee Harini with me few days back ,this experience reflects Baba's Omnipresence and how Baba takes care of small small wishes of His Bhakta. Jai Sai Ram .

Dear Manisha,
Yesterday I had a wonderful anubhav(Experience). Yesterday we went to Bhairav Sai temple in Madipakkam. I took the address from your website . Before going to the temple, we stopped the car near a flower vendor and asked her the route. She told us the route to the temple. We bought flowers from her. I asked her to give 1 muzham "Samandhi " flower. She put that in the cover and adding to that she put few rose petals . I thought why she is keeping this. She gave me 1 (samandhi) flower yellow in color but I saw another (samandhi )flower which was looking good and was white in color. I thought of buying that but before I could ask that the lady packed the bag and gave to us . So we got the flowers cover and went to the temple.

There some archana for Shirdi Sainath was going on and a group of around 20 people were reading the Namavali. (Un)luckily the flowers (loose rose petals ) which he was keeping for archana was over. The same minute we landed there and gave our cover of flower which we had brought. Immediately pujari , continued doing his archana with the petals from our cover and completed the archana. He put the petals in Baba’s foot (Thiruvadi). What to say !!!We were very happy on seeing this and I thought how Baba takes care of things .This was a very beautiful experience and touched my heart .This did not end here .
Then we came home. Daily in our house one lady keeps flowers for our Baba murthi in a bag on the gate. Once we reached home, the flower were already kept and when I opened the bag , I was totally taken aback because this flower was of white color (samandhi) flower which I wanted to buy from the flower vendor but did not get to buy as she had already packed the flowers.

Normally our flower vendor who brings flower to our home used to keep yellow colour (samandhi )flower and past few days she was keeping Jasmine flower. All of a sudden how she kept that white colored flower is beyond my reasoning .All I can say that Baba is Antaryami and taking care of our small small wishes.

Leela's of Baba are innumerable and HIS love to HIS bhakta is endless .Sometime HE come to save lives of HIS devotees and sometimes HE shows HIS great love by fulfilling the wishes of the devotee who has full faith on HIM .Here are two Sai leela shared by Sai devotee KiranMayi which show both these shades. Sai Leela -1

Sai Ram Manishaji,

I am a regular visitor of your website. I really appreciate your work and Sai Seva. I will be blessed if I have an opportunity to lend a hand. Thanks for this wonderful website.

Blessed are the people who trust Sai and recourse to his feet. I am indeed blessed to be from a family totally devoted to Sai Deva. I do not have the count as to how many times he has made us feel of his presence. I wish I could go on and on.

I regularly visited Baba’s temple from childhood along with my mother. When I got married and came to USA , I really missed that. But again, Baba’s greatness is unfathomable. Sai temple was inaugurated that year close to where I live in Sunnyvale ,CA. Baba’s prathima in this temple is beautiful. I always have tears in my eyes when I see Baba’s prathima. I forget all my desires and worries looking at him.

I want to relate one Leela that happened with me at this temple. It was my strong desire to offer robes to Baba in this temple. I asked my mother to get them from India when she was visiting me. I gave her all the measurements and also specified “parrot green” color robes. Due to some reasons, she was unable to get the robes.

I was a little disappointed but then thought everything is Baba’s wish. I could not go to the temple for several days after this as we bought a house and moved from there and also I was blessed with a baby boy. (Both due to Baba’s blessings, will relate this later). I took my infant son to the temple to seek Baba’s blessings. My husband and mother were also there along with me.

We had a very good darshan and were preparing to leave when a gentleman approached my husband and asked his help to change Baba’s robes. My husband thought that I would like to have this opportunity and told that gentleman that I would help. I was thrilled when I came to know. Normally that temple has many volunteers and they never ask anyone else to help them. I got onto the dais near Baba’s prathima and was preparing to put new robes. Imagine my surprise when the gentleman brought out “parrot green” robes to be put on Baba. He gave me the robes and I put the robes on Baba.

As I was about to get down, he again approached me saying, please place you infant in Baba’s lap. I was surprised and did as he said. I put my infant son, 2 months old on Baba’s lap. My son had the golden opportunity to sleep on Baba’s lap. I saw my son playing in Baba’s arms. I was so happy and tears of joy were flowing from my eyes. When I finally came down, that gentleman again approached me and said, “Baba looks very happy today. I see happiness in his eyes. Before you came, it looked as he was waiting for someone, but now he seems very happy.” He also gave us the shawl which was removed from Baba’s prathima along with some vibhuti and Prasad from India .

I had a wish of offering robes to Baba and he made me do it in this manner. He fulfilled my desire and more. I have no words to describe my happiness. I just pray to Baba to bless me like this throughout my life.

Sai Leela-2

SaiRam Manishaji,
This Leela of our beloved Sainath took place couple months ago. It will be great if you can post this on your website along with the previous Leela that I sent you.

I was driving back from work as usual. I needed to switch lanes on the freeway. I looked in my mirrors for the on coming cars in the lane I was supposed to merge. I noticed a car which was at a distance. It was safe for me to merge.

As I moving into the lanes, I suddenly slowed down, which never happens as I maintain the speed of 110 km/hr while changing lanes. It was only Saima’s blessing that such a thing happened.

As soon as I was merging, the car in the other lane picked up speed and then braked all of a sudden. As I result I crashed my car into it. Had I not slowed down I would have hit the other car with high speed and could have died. As I hit the car, I felt something, some kind of a cushion around me which prevented me from hitting myself onto the dashboard.

It is my strong belief that this cushion was Baba’s protection as he always said, “I will pull my devotees from jaws of death.” What else could it be?? My car was badly damaged but I escaped without a scratch. Thankfully the person in the other car was also completely unhurt.

It is definitely a kind of miracle that in spite of crashing at that speed, both the cars were minimally damaged and no one was hurt. It was definitely my SaiDeva who saved my life that day. I cannot imagine what would have happened if something happened to me. I have a small baby boy (9 months old). Sai averted what could have been a fatality to something trivial. My car was fixed in a week’s time and was totally covered by insurance. Also our insurance was not hiked up which usually happens if there are accidents.

I cannot thank Sai enough for his love and blessings he has showered on me and my family. I lay this life on mine at his feet.

I am sharing Sai leela experienced by Sai devotee Ireni as shared in her mail.Sai Baba always preaches that one should not worry about the fruit of one's toil and one should see favourable and unfavourable things with equal eye.One should do his krarma without worrying about its result. This is very easy to follow if we have full faith in Baba and believe that Baba will take care of the outcome.Jai Sai Ram .

Dear Manisha,
I would like to share my experience with all Sai devotees. Kindly upload it in your website whenever you get time.

Recently I gave an organizational exam (review through video conferencing) for my promotion which did not go well. I lost all my confidence of passing since last time also I failed. So I was so tensed. Whenever I think of the results, I would request Sai to handle this situation and would feel better.

Yesterday I came to know that the results were out, but still not published on the office intranet. All those who have freinds at the Head office could know the results by calling, but I was again nervous to call anyone there. I left office in full tension and once I reached home, I took bath and start reading Sai Satcharitra. Here I would like to mention that I had started reading it when I gave the exam and there had been a gap of time in reading due to some problems. Still I had bookmark the chapter which I had finished reading.
Yesterday's chapter was 21st and there I found the word 'promotion' in the chapter. I got the indication and started feeling better, but as soon as I finished reading the chapter from Sai Satcharitra, calls from my colleagues started coming that they have got their promotions and they were asking about me. Again I started to feel tensed and prayed to Sai.

I was hoping I will get the news from someone or the other at least by today morning. But no one called. So I came to my office and in the nearby SAI temple I prayed again saying that "today I will not be happy if I get promotion nor will I be sad if I failed, it's upto You only now. If I will get promotion, only You will be giving it since my performance was not good at all."

When I reached office I saw the intranet and it was not there, then I was so surprised that I didn't feel sad at all. Next moment, I check my mail and there it was with the subject Congratulations. I could not believe it at all. Now my office timing is getting over and here I'm writing to you. I know by the grace of SAI only I got my promotion and it seems today I have found a new me. My faith and patience have strengthened forever. Thanks my Lord SAI. Please be with me always. Please shower your blessings to all your devotees always.

B.V Narsimha Swami ji-After Mahasamadhi.

CHAPTER-4 PART-X
After Mahasamadhi.

Narasimha Swamiji’s masterpiece is ‘Life of Sai Baba’ in four volumes. The first two volumes were published before his Mahasamadhi and the other two posthumously. This work of over one thousand pages is a comprehensive biography of Sai Baba dealing with all aspects and is indeed a unique treasure for all Sai devotees. It has already gone into several reprints.

Narasimha Swamiji’s cottage is just behind the temple.All the articles sanctified by the touch of Swamiji are preserved there.A marble idol of Narasimha Swamiji has been installed there. Devotees visiting his shrine feel his living presence there.

During Swamiji's time, the main hall of the temple was zinc sheet roofed and in its place, a pucca RCC roofed hall with inverted beams was constructed and this new hall was opened by Justice Sri. M.B. Rege on ‘Guru Poornima’ day in July 1966. On this occasion, the fourth volume of ‘Life of Sai Baba’ was also released along ‘Charters and Sayings’ in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, and Malayalam.
The thatched roofed structure temporarily put up to carry on Sai Bab’s pooja during the construction of main hall was converted into a pucca building and a beautiful life size portrait of Radhakrishna brought from Brindavan was installed there.

As a result of Narasimha Swamiji’s work princely revenue was received by the Shirdi Samsthan from pilgrims from various parts of the country. The Shirdi Samsthan nominated Narasimha Swamiji as a member of the Executive committee of the Samsthan. Due to his physical inability Narasimha Swamiji, declined this offer and on his behalf deputed Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji and after 1952 Sri P. Gopalaswamy Iyer to represent him on the Executive Committee of Shirdi Samsthan.

In 1964, the All India Sai Samaj had to face litigation on the subject of the temple being brought under the control of the Hindu Religious Endowment Act by the Government of Tamil Nadu. However, due to Swamiji’s grace the High Court of Madras gave a landmark judgment that the All India Sai Samaj did not come under the Hindu Religious Endowment Act.
On 26th January 1966, Narasimha Swamiji’s portrait was placed at the feet of Sai Baba in Shirdi and later displayed in the hall along with pictures of intimate devotees of Sai Baba. Sri Sagun Meru Naik, a contemporary devotee of Sai baba, had great regards for Narasimha Swamiji and as desired by him, Swamiji’s portrait was taken in procession along all the streets of Shirdi before being placed at the holy feet of Sai Baba by Justice Sr. M.B.Rege. He declared that as long as Sai Baba’s name is there, the name of Narasimha Swamiji would also remain linked to that. What a prophetic declaration about a great apostle by a great devotee of a great Master! In January 1980, Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji attained Mahasamadhi and his portrait has been installed in the Samadhi Mandir Hall at Shirdi.

In 1967, as per the wishes of Sri Godavari Mathaji, a portrait of Narasimha Swamiji was displayed at Upasini Baba’s ashram at Sakori. Ramana Ashram at Tiruvannamalai also has displayed since 2001, a portrait of Narasimha swamiji due to an initiative by Swamijis’s devotees at Bangalore.

Swamiji was for ‘Vidya dhan’. In July 1967, Justice Sri M.B.Rege inaugurated Sai Vidyalaya. It started functioning with kindergarten classes and first two standards. Over the years it has further developed into a leading School.
1968 was a memorable year for the All India Sai Samaj. It was 50th year of Sai Baba’s ‘Mahasamadhi’. A ‘Bhagavatha Mela’ was organized and Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavatar presided over. A soul-stirring ‘Rasa Lila’ programme was conducted for nine days and thus attracted thousands of devotees. On Baba’s Mahasamadhi day ‘Swarnapushpa archana’ was performed with 108 gold lockets. The Samaj premises looked like a veritable paradise and Justice Sri M.B. Rege exclaimed-“Who says baba is only at Shirdi? See the glory of the Master here!”

In 1971, the main hall was decorated all around with colorful pictures portraying the life and lilas of Sai Baba. This was followed by construction of a kitchen for preparation of ‘prasad’ and a dining hall. At this time, Narasimha Swamiji’s cottage was converted into a ‘Dhyana Mandap’.

In 1974, the All India Sai Samaj and the Upasamajams celebrated the birth centenary of Narasimha Swamiji on a grand scale all over the country. A Sai Devotee’s Convention was also held at that time.

In February 1987, a marble idol of Sai Baba was installed at the All India Sai Samaj, ‘Kumbhabhishekam’ was also performed at that time.

In June 1991, the Golden Jubilee of the All India Sai Samaj was celebrated. To commemorate the Golden Jubilee, ENT and Eye blocks were annexed to the Sai Dispensary. Another highlight of this jubilee was a gathering of contributors to various Sai magazines.

During 1998-2000 various books of Narasimha Swamiji, which were out of print, were reprinted.

In June 2002, the Diamond Jubilee of the All India Sai Samaj was celebrated on a grand scale. A Sai Devotees convention was held at that time. A special feature was bringing out all the four volumes of ‘Life of Sai Baba’ as a single attractive book. This popular measure was an instance success and the copies were sold out very fast thus a second edition became necessary.

There is no one on this earth who does not experience the ups and downs of the life .But it is also a fact that if we have firm faith on our Lord Sai Baba there will always be a way out even amidst the most difficult time .Here is one such Sai leela which is shared by Sai sister Pooja .Jai Sai Ram .

Sairam Di,
I wanted to share my mother’s experience from a long time but today as per Baba’s wish I am writing her experience.There is one more of hers which is a bit funny and I will share it soon if Baba wishes.

Year 2008 for us ,everyone said was very very bad but after you read our experience and look it from the other side I feel it was no less than a blessing. On 7th June 2008 we had got the opportunity to be in Shirdi.We had very good darshan.

On 14th june 2008 my mother was supposed to undergo the uterus operation.It was successful.Everyone felt sad for it but now I feel it was better for her because before that she had to suffer every month and doctors said if it continued my mother would become anaemic.

Even a month was not over and on 13th July 2008 my nani(maternal grand mother) got a major heart attack.She was in I.C.U. for 21 days.Her condition was very critical according to doctors and anything could happen.This was not enough and with it she also got naagin.(I don’t know what its called in English but a very severe disease ). But my mother’s prayers were answered by the biggest doctor SAI though it took her months to recover.

But before she had not also recovered on 13th August 2008 my eldest mamaji(maternal uncle) met with a dreadly accident while crossing the road.When we got a call about this my parents did not understand what was happening every month.They did not tell each other but both prayed Sai Baba while going to the hospital that let him be Alright and take care of him we will get him(my mamaji) to shirdi for darshan.If anybody would have seen the car(people were drunk) that hit him nobody could have said that he will survive.

My mama was thrown up in air and had 3 falls as people said.When we reached hospital we saw Sai at the entrance and we got some relief.Then my parents told each other about their prayers and were surprised to know they were same.My father also put some udi on my uncle’s forehead and Later my mamaji with Sai’s grace survived with few fractures and almost after an year he recovered completely.

It was not even 6 days and on 19th August 2008 due to a short circuit our shop had caught up fire and whole of shop had turned into chars.I still can’t forget that site. We suffered a very heavy loss.We had decided to start with some other business.But things were not working out fast so we were very worried.

On the other hand my mother although a home maker, she keeps doing investments in land,properties,shares.But since recession had also hit she was also tensed because of the installments that were supposed to be paid against the loan taken.Money was there but only in form of investments but every month installments were to be paid and being a house wife it was becoming very difficult for her and was afraid of what would happen if the market continues to be so.She could not even ask papa because papa himself was going through pain and even the installment amount to be paid every month was quite big enough.

Almost five months had passed and in January my father started with the new business.All these five months it was because of Baba’s grace that we never felt lack of anything not even a single thing.Even my pigeons for whom we used to put bajra grains(there is my one more experience related to pigeons I will share it as and when Baba will wish).Even my parents used to wonder because all savings were in form of investments or in business as capital.But not even a single installment was left unpaid.But we believed that Baba and our pigeons blessings made it possible.

Although the business had started but since it was new it was not going very great.Not even a rupee was used from it for our use whatever was gained was added to increase the capital.All the expenses were managed so far by the money which came from the previous business(money which was in the market and people were supposed to pay us).Sai managed every month how much money should come from whom and when.In this period we could also recover money from those who did not pay us past many years.But slowly with time as they were recovered completely every month those also started decreasing.But Baba was constantly with us and now we got the money from Insurance company right when we needed the most.Since my father had never thought ever that such a tragedy can take place he had opted for a insurance policy of small amount.But still it was a great relief to have it right when we needed it.

During this period of hardship our many relatives supported us and offered us help but my parents had decided not to take it as long as possible.

But Baba was constantly with us and now we got the money from Insurance company.Since my father had never ever thought that such a tragedy can take place he had opted for a insurance policy of small amount.But still it was a great relief to have it right when we needed it.

Then this way another six months passed and it was end of june.Still the new business was not running that well and we did not use any money from it.Again now the tension for installments to be paid against loans started.All these months my mother had been wishing that some of the lands be sold atleast one of them and everything will be fine.But because of recession prices offered were not acceptable to her.

All these months my mother was very strong specially in front of papa and kept telling him don't worry everything will be fine.Baba is there.I think not exactly sure but it was 25 or 26 of June 2009 my mother felt hurt when one of my cousin said you must cut down on your unnecessary expenses (said casually not intentionally).She is a lady who never spent unnecessarily even in good times and a boy coming and telling her without even thinking properly.She felt very bad and could not stop crying.

Next morning when she did her morning pooja (those words were still in her ears)and she cried a lot in front of Baba and prayed “Baba kuch to karo.Ek to bhi Jagah Bik jaane do.Andhera door karo…Charo taraf andhera he”(Baba do something.Let atleast one piece of land be sold.Remove the darkness.Everywhere from all four sides I can see only darkness).This is what she remembers roughly.She was unable to stop her crying.

I did not know all this.Then I and my mother left the house for some work at around 11a.m -12 noon. I was driving the car when my mamaji called up my mother.As there was noise I parked my car aside and mamaji told my mother that in a construction project in which she had invested some 5 to 6 years back for which she had already got the returns and did not even think that anything more would come from it, mamaji told that she would be getting more money from it.The project had got completed and all the related issues had been also settled and after calculating everything my mother was supposed to get her share.She was also told that there was still one shop which was not sold and in future she will get her share as per the percentage of her investment. On top of this my mamaji also said if you want you can use the money that he would also be getting from the same project and clear up everything.
My mother was so happy I can’t explain.She started crying.She was not able to speak on phone and her voice choked.She handed me the phone and till now even I did not have any idea about all this.My mama did not understand why she was crying and nor did I.I told him I would call him in few minutes.Then mummy told me about the morning prayers she offered to Baba.And she said Baba had solved her problems same day within few hours.She did not even expect such a big amount from that project and so it was all BONUS for her.

She thanked Baba for being so kind.She also said that yesterday she was hurt because of my cousin but today she is even more touched when my mamaji just said that she can use his share also.But that was also not required because very soon our one more land deal was finalized and almost 80 to 85 % problem related to loans was solved.Remaining 15 to 20 % care is still taken by Baba and will be solved as soon as another deal is finalized.Now the business from August 2009 is also settled well and is going good even better than previous business by Baba’s grace.So almost after an year things are better and better.

This period of hardship I can now feel as a blessing because the new business is even better than before and my father is enjoying and feels why did'nt he think of this business before...,I could start writing poems (started writing on Baba) where I never thought I can write even a single line and it strengthened our faith even more specially my mother and we also came to know our true relatives who constantly supported us all the time and are still supporting.

So in year 2008 one can say Baba had called us Shirdi to give us strength to face so many challenges in a row.It was only because of Baba that all the problems were solved.So I can say that year 2008 was good because atleast anything worse did not happen and my naniji,mamaji,mummy recovered and also my father is more happy with the new business.

What all I want to say is Baba’s words “Shraddha” and “ Saburi” works if we have Shraddha in HIM and Saburi in us.

Thank you Sai Baba for answering my mother’s prayers that day.Also keep on showering your blessings on my parents,mamaji,all my relatives and everyone.

Sairam, Manisha Sister,
I would like to share the wonderful leelas performed by our Parabrahma Satchidananda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj very recently keeping my mother as a witness.

As you are aware that my mother sends “The Miracle Books” on requests to devotees and this Miracle is related to that small seva.
Mom had couriered The Miracle book to a person named Seshadriji in Chennai and the same person had called again to say that he needs more books and mom was chanting Sai Ashtotharam. She said she would certainly do so and in another few minutes again he called to say that he need one more book as his friend who just came home saw the book and wanted one for himself. Mom said fine she will send along with his request, than Seshadriji told mom to speak to his friend Mukundanji, but mom was hesitating as they are strangers to each other .So Seshadriji told mom that Mukandanji is in great financial crisis and had been really waiting for some pending transaction of nearly 4 lakhs.
Seshadriji personally felt if mom would speak to him it may bring some good to him, mom had told him that she only holds on to the lotus feet of our Sai and she knows nothing more than that, but as he was insisting she spoke to his friend and told him to perform Sai Nav Guruvar Vrat and just hold on to him and also to do the parayan of the Miracle book and she assured that it will definitely bring good to him. But his friend did not have Sai's photo or any books of Sai. So mom said she will be sending pocket size pictures with the book so they need not worry about it. Mom also prayed to our Sadguru Sai wholeheartedly to take care of this.

Its a week now and Seshadriji called mom to say the good news that his friend's problem is getting solved today as he will be receiving nearly 2 lakhs by registration of their property . This deal was pending for the past 9 years and the same evening his friend had called and thanked mom which in turn she placed at Sai's feet and they also visited Mylapore Sai mandir and planning to do annadhan. Mom had also advised them to buy Sri Sai Satcharitra and do parayan at home.

Manisha Sister this miracle was conveyed to mom by Seshadriji and I am sharing the same with you.

Sesadhriji's son is doing his final yr B.E. and he did some pooja to Sai and had taken a vow to donate blood at the completion of the pooja. As we know that Sai always encourages remembering his name the pooja was completed successfully. As the boy was thinking of contacting Sai organization to donate blood just that day one of their old acquaintance named SaiGaneshji who had not contacted for a nearly a year called them (as he had lost their contact no) to ask if this boy could donate blood to one of the Sai organization as there is need of blood.

The family was speechless to hear this and this incident clearly proves that whatever we wish to offer to Sai without a bit of pride or for want of fame will definitely be accepted by Sai.

Sister I am really so happy and feel so blessed to hear all the leelas of our Sai through my mom and wonder struck at his mysterious way of bringing people to my mom as Sai companions. I am sure the bondage created by Sai will be everlasting than anything else in this world. In that way, I too feel very fortunate and blessed to have satsang with devotees like you for which I need to be thankful to my All pervasive Sai.

After the demise of my father on Jan 7, 2010 we have certain customs and poojas to perform according to that Mom had to take darshan of Balaji temple on Feb 13, being Amavasya . This mandir is quite far from our place and my mom need to go the previous night and stay there and the next day early morning she needs to perform Archana, do annadhan and reach home early and then offer her prayers and food to God. This is a custom followed in our family.

Our neighbors were also planning to go to this temple and assured that they will accompany mom but just the previous day they came and said that they will not be able to join mom and so mom was in a fix , when she told me,” I said don't worry mom, Sai will arrange everything for you”. And was waiting for Sai to perform his leelas and help my mom complete this ritual. And just the same evening my mom's cousin called to inquire about the temple visit on hearing from mom, she said she will join to the temple which itself was like a blessing from Sai.

So she went on Feb 12th night with 2 others stayed overnight and she came to know that 10days festival was going on in the temple so it was overcrowded and by sai's grace they could get a room to stay and early morning at 3.30 they woke up ,took bath in the temple pond where she could hardly step in due to the crowd and they were to do perform archana and so they felt that it is better to go on special darshan as there is lot of crowd and they were inquiring about this to a security.

They were told to buy 50Rs. ticket as it may move faster, they found a priest and the priest too advised to buy the ticket and disappeared. So my mom bought the tickets and when they were about to step into the 'q' from nowhere the priest appeared again and asked "there were three people who wanted to get into the mandir quickly who are they? Immediately mom said it was them and he said" all the three of you come with me" and he directly took mom and others to the sanctum sanctorum just straight away inside no 'q' no waiting/standing anywhere and that day Feb 13th was a very special day and my mom was the first one to do archana for that day, and she came out to find out the priest to thank him but she could not find him anywhere.

HOW CAN SHE FIND SAI HE WILL RUN TO HELP US AND AT THE SAME SPEED HE DISAPPEARS. I was in tears what good have we done to get all this blessing!! later mom did annadhan and came home and cooked food and served my eternal father and my worldly father who is at Sai's abode now.

I would like to place my head at the lotus feet of our Sai and wash his holy feet with my tears of joy and plead him to bless us always, guide us and take care of us.

In the last post we read about Swami ji's Mahasamadhi and today's post continues on the same .Readers who have missed earlier parts of biography can read by clicking on the links which are given below at the end of post , chapter by chapter.Jai Sai Ram.

CHAPTER – 4 PART –IX
SWAMIJI’S MAHASAMADHI CONTD.

Just three weeks before attaining his Mahasamadhi, Narasimha Swamiji had stated in a message:-“In the first place the spiritual leadership of Sai movement is of the utmost importance and none but the Founder amongst the members could provide it. So the Founder still continues to be the spiritual head of the Sai Samaj and of all Sai devotees. It is to facilitate this work that a cottage behind the temple had been erected and allotted to the Founder to live in, and thus become a powerful and always a present guide, director and helper to all.”

Even though he has given up his physical body, Narasimha Swamiji is eternally with us forever. He is answering our prayers. He is guiding us in our spiritual efforts.

The Sai Baba temple and offices of the All India Sai Samaj at 37, Alamelu Mangapuram, Mylapore, Madras, covering about eighteen grounds with the tower rising to a stupendous height and spacious front hall represent in concrete form how much Narasimha Swamiji had achieved by his hard work and sacrifice.

We have in this magnificent building a library, hospital and a printing press, community hall for cultural activities, telephone and loudspeaker equipment, living rooms and baths and other amenities of urban life for outstation devotees, poor feeding etc.,

Whoever comes for ‘darshan’ is provided ‘prasad’. Let us not become lost in these comforts; let us cherish in humility and gratitude the memory of that rare soul for all this. More than seven times he was stricken by accidents; there was division among his followers. Accidents failed to deter him and he put heterogeneous elements together and evolved as His Master Sai Baba had done in Shirdi, ‘harmony out of chaos’. “I find Dwarakamayi here in Madras’ declared Justice Sri M.B. Rege as he visited the headquarters of the All India Sai Samaj. He could perceive Sai Baba manifesting in that holy atmosphere. He was linked to this place by memory of his close association with Narasimha Swamiji.
Out of over eighty-three years that Narasimha Swamiji had lived, he gave us in the last twenty years the cream of his profound wisdom and scholarship, ripe experience and above all the fruits of his ‘tapas’.

Narasimha Swamiji has left us the legacy-the Sai movement and the All India Sai Samaj. We should ask ourselves what we in our turn have done to preserve and improve that heritage by contributing our share to the work. There is still so much distress around-poverty, ignorance, communal discord, parochialism, selfishness and greed and therefore, so much to do to remove them by carrying the teachings of Sai Baba working in loving memory of Narasimha Swamiji. We may change the situation, however little that change may be. But we must change ourselves first.

Swamiji is still living in the literature he has left us; literature that goes into so many reprints and passes into so many languages, he lives in the ‘Ashtotharam’ and ‘Sahasranamam’ he composed and we chant in ‘Sai Mananam’ and the songs we sing. His spirit is brooding over the cottage behind the temple at the All India Sai Samaj, in the easy chair that held him, nay in the very temple he built, praying ceaselessly for the grace of Sai Baba that may come down pouring on us all in abundance.

After Mahasamadhi..
The physical absence of Narasimha Swamiji did create a vacuum. Initially the attendance at the temple diminished, but over the years it has increased by leaps and bounds.

Narasimha Swamiji was a great lover of books. He had collected over 6000 books on religion, philosophy etc., The Narasimha Swamiji Memorial Library and Free Reading Room was opened by Sri.B.N. Datar, the then Union Minister of State for Home Affairs on the first ‘Aradhana’ day of Swamiji in October 1957. From 1957 onwards the Annual Aradhana Day is celebrated as Founders Day at the All India Sai Samaj.

Narasimha Swamiji felt ‘Bhajan’ as the life of Sai movement. Narasimha Swamiji Dwarakamayi Prathana Sishya Ghosti led by Sundareswara Iyer was systematically carrying on Bhajan on all Saturdays. From 1959 onwards, Dhanurmasa bhajan in the early morning is also undertaken.

Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathar started ‘Radha Kalyan’ in January 1959 and this has become an annual feature. Narasimha Swamiji started Laksharchanas to Sai Baba even in the forties and this was upgraded to ‘Koti Archana’ in 1966.

In 1958, Sri V.S. Ramaswamy Iyengar, a senior Railway official brought fire from the Shirdi ‘Dhuni’. This was kept in the ‘Homakundam’in front of the shrine and kept alive continuously. Another devotee, Sri. N.K. Subba Rao, gifted a Dwarakamayi picture of Sai Baba. He also contributed for construction of a room where Dhuni as well as Dwarakamayi picture of Sai Baba are placed.

The picture of Krishna-Rama-Siva-Marutyadi Rupa Sai, which was in the front hall, was shifted to the rear of the Mandir to a small niche under the neem-aswatha tree to serve as ‘Gurusthan’.

In 1962, an annexe was built to the east of the dispensary to function as the Dental Block. To be continued....

Dear Manisha Didi,

I loved your website, your work ,devotion and everything.You are doing a great work.You are very very blessed. I tried to post my experience but when I clicked on send email it did not work so I am posting this way.Please post my experience which was inspired by your mother’s experience-Unique photo.

This is the first incidence where I became a strong and a firm believer of Baba.From the childhood I have been brought up in such a way that I always believed in God but still sometimes had questions about what I had been told and felt Is God really there?...

It was 16th March 2006 which was my birthday and also the last internal examination paper(environmental chemistry).I can never forget that day of my life.As usual since it was my exam I bowed down in front of all the idols of all the gods and prayed that my exams go very good.

At that moment as I was praying before Baba (which was a sticker on a cupboard in bedroom)and was almost done with my prayers I don't know why and how I continued my prayers only to Sai Baba saying,"Baba its my Birthday today and aaj mujhe aapse kuch to gift chahiye...Kuch bhi chalega....(and i want some gift from you...anything will do...).Even if its some punishment and if you think its important for me than also I shall accept..but I want some gift from you today..that also before 12 midnight.." Later I felt surprised that what was I doing?

Then I left home gave my exams which had to be superb because Baba’s grace was there and I was very happy because exams were over and it was my birthday .I came back home there was a sort of surprise bithday party for me in a hotel by my parents and relatives.We celebrated and enjoyed a lot came back home around 11.40 p.m.Since I had received many gifts and also few envelopes containing money I started opening one by one.(I had completely forgotten about my prayers to Baba for gift since it was not done intentionally /thoughtfully).Than I started collecting money from envelopes given to me . And I came across one envelopes which was given by my maasi(mothers sister) which was made up of Sai Baba's photograph.I was with no words to see Baba come in form of Picture as my birthday gift. what could I say or express but only love and lots of love .Baba made my day and blessed me .

Immediately something clicked me to recollect everything and I saw the watch it was not yet 12 midnight and still there were few more minutes to be 12 ,this was enough to make me feel the presence of Baba .

After removing money from it I opened the envelope carefully so that it was a complete square photograph.I still have it and will be there forever.

One thing that surprised me was my maasi had their own designed envelopes printed with their names and usually on all occassions she used them but that day(my birthday) how she gave me an envelope that was made from a card that had Sai Baba's photograph? Is this not really Baba's way of doing things for His children!!

One thing to be noticed is if we make an envelope out of any rectangle or square we may go for cutting few edges corners so that its aproper envelope but this envelope was made only by folding the paper and sticking it with glue. But when I separated the folds the photograph was not damaged and was a complete proper photograph( this realization I got now while I am posting this experience.Thank you Sai baba for all your love and grace.)

Then I realised that Baba's gift to me was none other than Baba HIMSELF and from that day Baba actually came into my life or else can say I started recognizing his presence and I became more devoted to HIm.I had all my doubts cleared which sometimes I had about God's existence.Then after that incident there were so many incidences when Baba had helped me out or showed me the path.And I started recognizing His constant presence in my life.Now I cannot think anything beyond Baba and His love .Thank you Baba fro coming in my life on such a special day and changing me for good and bringing me closer to you .Thank you Sai Baba for the most wonderful birthday gift ever and entering my life.

Sai Baba Blessed Us With Child-Experience By Reena.

Today I am sharing a heart touching experience of Sai sister Reena.I am sure this experience will uplift and fill the readers with hope and faith particularly those who are praying earnestly to Baba for a progeny.The experiences shared are not mere Sai leela but a true example of faith and surrender to the Lord Sainath. The hidden message in the experiences is that one should not allow to falter his faith on Baba no matter how difficult is the time because Baba is always there for His children.

There can be an apparent delay (because of Baba's will)in getting the answer of one's prayer but all the prayers with complete faith never goes unanswered in Baba's court. Here I am attaching such overwhelming series of incidences and I strongly believe that many Sai devotee will get benefited by reading this post and will experience the similar Sai leela in due course of time.

Sairam Manisha sister,

We have been blessed with a baby boy and this is due to the grace of Baba. I suffered two miscarriages in the years 2007 and 2008 respectively and therefore, apprehensions of another pregnancy and maintaining it were high. Regardless of my losses, I decided to hold faith in Baba and remain loyal to Him and be patient. I prayed to Him for strength and to show me the way out of this.We wanted a child desperately and that too, without losing anytime. We were married for 8 years already and then there was this problem that further age advancement could lead to problems in having children. I would repeatedly tell my husband that perhaps it would be best on our part to adopt and get rid of this tension.

My husband would say that we'll wait for another 2 years and see how things happen. During this period, I would often do Sai Parayan (reading of Sai Satcharita) for seven saptahs, this time not for a child in specific but for some peace of mind and to pray to Baba to show me a way out of this. I thus, completely surrendered myself to Baba and decided to wait on His decision. There are stories in Sai Satcharita about how Baba blessed childless couples and those stories would bring tears into my eyes.

Not only this but the parayan had a profound effect on me. I was drawing closer to Baba, my love for Him was growing and I could feel that I had nothing to think about other than Baba, nothing else to meditate upon and remember but Him all the time. I reached a stage where I was becoming detached with my sorrow and pain of not having a child. Rather, I was acquiring interest in reading stories of Baba's lifetime, His contemporary saints and so on. It was as if, the goal of my life to love Baba whole-heartedly and to keep loving Him all the time.

Manishaji, I kindly request you to publish these experiences of mine on your website.

January 2009:

Before I narrate this dream vision, I would like to say that I've always identified Sri Shirdi Sai Baba with my another spiritual personality, whom we refer to as our Guruji. After all, has not Baba told us that He appears to us in the form that we believe in. This could be my personal perception but I have had several visions or dreams in which Shirdi Sai Baba and my Guru appeared together. One night, I had a dream in which my Guru was helping us out in the following manner. I, along with my aunts (I remember seeing one aunt of mine) holding hands with each other were being led by our Guru ji through an ocean. We were all actually walking on the bed of the ocean against the water current. He took us all through to and fro in the waters.

In the same dream, I was discussing this matter with a friend of mine. I was telling her as to how Guruji has led us all through the ocean and what if we had encountered dangerous and fierce sea animals such as the crocodiles, sharks etc. And then I was justifying my own statement saying "Well, if we believe in God then no crocodile or harmful creature would ever cross our path".

I understood two things -

1. In our most difficult times, He is with us, showing us a way out of our problems and helping us out
2. We must trust God and His doing completely, surrender ourselves to Him and then no harm can ever come to us

It was a very beautiful dream and to this day, it touches my heart.

February 2009:

I had another vision. My husband and I were playing with a 2-yr old boy. He was very cute and adorable. We were completely engrossed in watching the kid move about here and there, play around and this sight filled our hearts with joy. I was thinking to myself that even if we were to adopt such a kid, that would still be fine with us and while thinking so, we saw a man sitting at some distance. Without being asked anything, the man replied, "He is your son, a child born to you" (yeh tunhara apna beta hai, khudka).

I cannot imagine the ineffable joy that filled my heart. Little did I realize that this dream vision was about to come true and the person who spoke to me was none other than Sai Baba Himself.

Feb 2009:

Some days following this, I had another dream in which I saw my Guruji standing in front of me. I would pray to Baba to give me an answer or solution to my problem and He would, either in the form of a dream vision or Guruji. In that vision I saw that I was pregnant and my husband and I were bowing to Him to seek his blessings. Guruji was saying "inka emi bhayamu ledu, antha baane jaruguthondi" meaning you need not fear anymore, everything will go on well.

A few days after these two visions, I conceived. It was an utter shock, great surprise and sheer joy that words cannot describe. Of course, Baba had blessed us again.

As weeks rolled by, my nausea and vomiting (morning sickness) increased. Every Thursday Baba would bring me to His mandir and I would make an attempt by His grace to cook and take some offering for Baba. One such Thursday I visited the mandir. The thought and insecurity about this pregnancy outcome was eating me up. I had lost twice and was anxious about the result the third time and was seeking an answer from Baba. At that time, I was doing parayan of Sri Sai Satcharita.
While reading one of those chapters, I came across this chapter 44, where Sri Kakasaheb Dixit expresses his restlessness over achieving the powerful bhakthi of the Nathas. Shama tells him "Why should one feel restless when he has unwavering faith in Baba". This immediately answered my question and cleared my doubt. My apprehensions were quickly overcome since I knew that Baba gave me an answer.

I visit the Sri Sai Baba mandir at Iselin in New Jersey every Thursday. Infact, my journey for the prayer for a child began from this mandir. During those days, another strange incident took place. One evening when I went to the temple, I had a desperate feeling to see Baba in some form or the other. I was wondering in my mind "Will I ever get to have Your darshan Baba?" See how wonderfully Baba replied to this question -

There is a very senior citizen about 75-80 years of age who frequents Sai mandir every Thursday. Looking at him and his devotion, I often wondered if He was Sai Baba Himself in a man's form. He can appear in any form and isn't it but natural for a Sai devotee to search for Baba in every form?

Anyways, after having Baba's darshan and with the thought of seeing Baba, my husband and I went down to have prasad. We took the prasad and sat in one corner of the room. Though I sat there, my mind was weaving thoughts about having Baba's darshan. Just then I saw the old man coming towards us. He stopped by and stared at me as if to say something and then said "Focus on Him and then He'll give you darshan. He appears to me at night sometimes" and went away. I was both puzzled and quite thrilled with joy and excitement. My eyes were brimmed with tears and so were my husband's. It was a feeling as though Baba Himself spoke to us. Just after this a lady came by and handed over the Sai vrath katha story book as a part of vrath udyapan.

Interestingly, there was a baby's photo at the bottom of the booklet. Perhaps, the vrath was done for her wish fulfillment or as an expression of gratitude to Baba. This was very touching and felt auspicious to the heart. The sequence of events moved me that day. I accepted the booklet and thanked the lady, rather Baba for choosing me.

Early next morning I had a vision. I was travelling with my aunt with a shiv lingam in my hand and then as if a voice spoke, "perform abhishekh to this lingam". The dream partially woke me up and while I was still half-asleep, I heard a voice from the pooja portion of the room where I was sleeping, "Mother you were very restless when you came to Dwarkamai, but now you can relax and rest in peace". I woke up with these words ringing in my head and to this day, three months after my son was born, I cannot forget those words of Baba. Also, to date, I've been performing abhishekh to the shiva lingam and Baba's idol in my pooja mandir every Monday and Thursdays. There was no doubt left that this pregnancy was going to go smooth and above everything else, I could feel a strong protection and presence of Baba all the time.

The second and third months of my pregnancy, I had severe nausea and vomitings. So much so that I could barely cook any food for myself. One of my friends offered to cook food and would send it to me everyday. That friend took such a good care of me. She would not cook for herself and her children sometimes but she never forgot to send me food. Isn't this Baba's grace?

Baba's leela in Tests:

Undoubtedly, Baba has complete control over all the elements in the universe. During my pregnancy, a number of tests both genetic and functional were performed. Some routine and others out of the way, just to be on safe side. But with Baba's grace, all these tests came out normal. Truly, where there is divine intervention and protection, everything is bound to come out normal.

The fifth month scanning took place. The normal procedure here in the US is that they generally reveal the baby's gender to the would-be parents who wish to know. My husband was not in favor of knowing. I wanted to know because of one reason. I had mentioned at the beginning of this experience about a man appearing to me in dream and telling us that the child (boy) we were playing with was our child and not an adopted one. I thought that if the dream is to come true (if I am carrying a boy as per the dream vision) than none other than Sai Baba Himself can make such a precise prediction. His words always come true and there is no return from what He says. So the person making prediction in the dream must be Baba then. Imagine the ineffable joy I felt on seeing Baba Himself! He appeared so ordinary in plain clothes like any other ordinary person.

August 2009, How Baba attended my Baby Shower function:

My elders decided to perform baby shower for me in the US when I was in my seventh month of pregnancy. The thought of baby shower itself infused in me feelings of joy, happiness and excitement. There were times when I would think that perhaps I am not destined for it. I was that eagerly looking forward to it. I prayed to Baba and left everything to Him. I told myself "If Baba wants, He will perform the ceremony for me Himself and make all the arrangements too". Gradually, events that progressed along with my pregnancy showed how beautifully Baba planned and made arrangements for the function.

Back in India, once mom went out for shopping and out of the blue bought a saree, which she liked so much. She didn't know who she was purchasing it for. She thought that the color and texture of the saree was appealing and so bought it. A few months later, she decided to send the same saree to me. Now, the interesting part here is that the saree is green in color and this color is considered to be auspicious for the baby shower ceremony. Before sending the same, she told me over the phone that it was as if Baba picked the saree for me. These words touched my heart so much. The day I received the saree and bangles happened to be a Thursday!

I prayed that Baba should attend the function and bless us. I was then reminded of the story from Sri Sai Satcharita as to how Baba attended the udyapan ceremony in Shri BV Deo's house and blessed him. I was therefore sure, that if one prays to Baba and invited Him whole-heartedly, He would definitely attend the function. Only that we should have the eyes to see and recognize Him in whichever form He comes. Nothing is impossible for Him as He can take any form and fulfill His devotee's wish.

Two months before this, my mom, aunts and sisters had gone to Shirdi. I gave my mom a message to by conveyed to Baba - to attend my Baby Shower function. In reply, my mom received a coconut and rose stems from Baba's samadhi. Very gladly my mom came back and communicated the whole thing to me. Imagine the thrill that I felt.

Now, this is how Baba attended the function. The ceremony began. I closed my eyes and imagined as if I was sitting in front of Baba and was simply looking at Him. As the function progressed, a muslim family who were our guests came in. The lady from the family came towards me, hugged and congratulated me. Quickly, she placed a silver Ganesha coin in my hand as a gift. What more could have added to my excitement than the Ganeshji Himself? We went home and then I started to think as to in which form Baba would have graced the occasion. A few days later, I had a vision early in the morning in which I saw faces of Ganesha and Sai Baba alternating.
The dream vision was something like this. I was standing up the stairs of a railway platform and Baba was standing right opposite to me on the edge of the staircase. Looking at the flight of steps so close to Him, I told Him to move from there since He might fall off. After this dream, I woke up and the fell half-asleep.I then saw faces of Ganeshji and Baba alternating with each other. After a careful thought I realized that the silver coin of Ganesha represented Baba and He indeed had attended my function.

On the day of delivery:

The D-day arrived, when I was admitted to the labor room. Before I left for the hospital, I prayed to Baba and picked up His photo and Udi and left with them. Up until the afternoon, the pains were getting severe. By afternoon time I felt I could bear no more. I was hyperventilating. Unable to bear the pain, I asked the doctor for epidural. Once the epidural was administered, I started to shiver horribly and could feel numbness through out. On the other hand, the baby's heart beat dropped to 90 from 140. It stayed so for almost two and a half hours showing no signs of recovery.

My aunt and my husband were both present in the labor room with me. The doctor started to worry and said that they might have to do an emergency c-section to save the baby. In no time, all the arrangements were made. The c-section room was made ready, instruments were all brought in place, the nurses were being rushed and the Dr explained to me the pros and cons of performing it. I was just not in a position to think of anything. I was not even able to concentrate properly on Baba due to the contractions on one hand and the shivering on the other which were getting worse by the minute. The moment the Dr and the staff left the labor room for a minute, I quickly told my aunt to apply Udi on my forehead and put a pinch of it on my tongue. She did as told to. My aunt, who is also a Sai Baba devotee got very tensed for me and the baby.

After applying udi, she sat on the bed some distance away and started praying to Baba and these were her words in her prayer

"Baba, this girl believes in You so madly, she prays to You day in and day out. She is already disappointed with previous two losses.This time again she's faced with a difficult situation. Please save her and the baby, Baba. They are both at Your mercy completely."

While praying like this she remembered the story from Sri Sai Satcharita about how Baba saved mainatai, Shri Nanasaheb Chandorkar's daughter from the most difficult labor pains and helped her deliver safely. Than Dr came in and as a part of monitoring process, went to the computer to check for baby's heartbeat and what she saw then was a miracle. She jumped with joy. The baby's heartbeat was restored to 140.She said that this was a miracle by itself and declared that there was no need for a c-section.

After that I delivered normally and the process went so smooth thereafter that I barely felt the pain. My son was born and he is very much a blessing from Baba. We gave him Baba's name. The moment he was pulled out from me, I felt a gush of relief and immediately closed my eyes to thank Baba. Without His grace two lives would not only have been saved but are safe and healthy.

My thoughts:

Manisha sister the journey was not easy for me sis, I felt lost several times. The first time I lost my pregnancy in 2007, after 3 months, I was heart broken and shattered. I never prayed after that. I would just not go near pooja room. And even when I sat down to pray, it would be so mechanical, devoid of all feelings and attachment to God. This continued for 8-9 months. Slowly, I began to realize the vacuum in life.

The vacuum of not being able to relate to God anymore. It made me feel empty and wrong. This feeling of being lost and belonging to nowhere was eating me up. Slowly I started praying to Baba again and gradually He made me realize that there is nothing greater than Him. I decided that He alone can help me out. He is so generous and kind-hearted that if anyone regardless of religion, caste and financial status remembers Him sincerely and calls out to Him for help, He will certainly respond. Virtues required are love, loyalty, faith and patience.

Love - like you said, we must love Him for nothing but for Him alone. You must of have heard of this - "Baba gives you what you want so that you begin to want what He wants to give you."

Loyalty and Patience - His grace will definitely dawn upon us but we must have a lot of patience for it. Never give up on Him.

Faith - Trust Him completely that He is the doer. Surrender to Him completely and good or bad, leave it to Him and He is sure to take care.

We falter most of the times because we don't surrender ourselves completely to Baba.These experiences can help build and rebuild faith in those devotees who are seeking Baba's blessings, Nothing else would make me more happy and contented if this helps the devotee to rebuild their faith in Baba.

Prayer:

Every time I look at my son, I will be reminded of Baba and His grace and presence in my life. The stories that I had read about Him and saving of His devotees are true to every word. Only that we should have faith in Him completely and surrender ourselves to Him whole-heartedly. He can never see His children suffering. I pray to You Baba that I should never forget You and that I should remember You at all times, be that of happiness or sorrow, joy or misery. No accomplishment or pain must come so close to me that I forget You. My devotion and love for You must be above these feelings so that I remain unaffected by wordly foibles. I must think of You at all times, chant Your name and miss you in whatever I do. Your devotees are constantly witnessing Your leelas all around the world. There is no one who comes into Your fold of grace and yet remains unaffected by Your leelas. Thank You very much Sai Baba, thank You very much!

Baba Takes Care-Experience By Sai Devotee.

Here are the few incidences shared by a sai devotee .These experiences prove the fact that in our day to day life even for small small things when we surrender to Baba with full faith ,we experience His presence and blessing .Please read the attached mail below. Jai Sai Ram .

Dear Manisha sis,

I want you to post few of my experiences in your website. Could you please post it.

1) I went to India last year.Just one day before leaving,I had severe stomach pain on and off. I'm very familiar with that pain as it happens at least 2 or 3 times per year and lasts at least few hours. I'm supposed to go to office and it was very important for me to go to office as I'll be leaving to India the next day. I usually do not take any UDI for my problems as I think I should experience my bad karma. But that day I was forced to take UDI and even though I've little faith, the stomach pain disappeared in an hour. This is indeed a miracle as I always have it atleast for few hours and this time it had gone so fast .I also learnt about the healing power of Udi.

2) While in India,I went to my in-laws place who live in a small village. The restroom is outside of the house and I was very scared to use it in the night as I need to step out of the house. I somehow gathered courage, used the restroom around 1:55 AM in the morning and soon after entering the house, there was power cut. Later I came to know that there is power cut every night at 2:00 AM. I know this sounds funny but see how Baba helped me at the midnight without getting scared or into any trouble .

3) This is the most important experience. We went to Kalahasti and Tirupati along with my 7 and a half months old son and in the evening my son started crying uncontrollably. That was the first time ever my son cried with pain since his birth. I thought of giving UDI, but could not find it. I'm dead against giving any medicine to my son and after 3 hours of constant crying, we took him to the doctor.

I was praying to Sai that his pain should go away without any medicine and while we are on our way to the hospital, I saw Sai temple which was a perfect assurance and also my son kind of stopped crying and was crying intermittently on our way to the hospital. Soon after I stepped into the hospital, I saw big Sai photo and I was relieved and than I saw Tirumal Balaji photo next to it ,what else can I seek for?. As soon as we stepped into the hospital, my son stopped crying and I was very happy.I thanked Baba from bottom of my heart

4) After we came back from our vacation, I felt my son was hyper active, so I gave him some UDI and he settled down. He wasn't sleeping properly during nights and used be awake for most part of the night and we dealt with this for about a week. Everyone was tired, so I prayed to Babaji that if he sleeps through out the night, I'll bring my son to your temple the next Thursday. My son started sleeping well after that, but we could not take him to Baba temple the next Thursday as he was sleeping. Please Baba, forgive us for this.And we shall definitely bring him to temple for your darshan .

I wish all the devotees reading my experience to benefit from it .I wish to convey that whenever we remember Baba with full faith and surrender to His will everything goes well and we are relieved of our worries and issue even if they seem petty and day to day worries. Thank you .Sairam .

In the last post we read about Swami ji's efficient system for Sai Prachar,today the book takes us to the detail of Swami ji's Mahasamadhi. CHAPTER-4 PART VIII
SWAMIJI’S MAHASAMADHI

Narasimha Swamiji had laid a firm foundation for the Sai movement by 1956. Sai Baba who was confined only to Shirdi was already known all over India. Even in abroad, people were familiar with Sai Baba. The All India Sai Samaj had over four hundred Upasamjams affiliated to it.

Temples for Sai Baba were constructed all over the country and in 1956, as many as eighty Sai temples were in existence and many more were under construction. Every day the number of devotees worshiping Sai Baba were on the increasing trend and in order to continue the movement started by Narasimha Swamiji thousands and thousands of volunteers got ready.As a worthy successor, Radhakrishna Swamiji was busily engaged in spreading the Sai movement in Karnataka since 1952.

On 12th September 1956, 83rd birthday of Narasimha Swamiji as per the birth star was celebrated on a low profile at the All India Sai Samaj and other Upasmajams. Swamiji’s health status was not satisfactory. His physical body had almost worn out.Even by 8th October 1956, he was weak due to fever.He was confined to bed. Even then he directed from his bed various activities like dictation of the editorial for ‘Sai Sudha’, attended to office correspondence and meditated when he was free of duties.
In the next seven days, he developed constipation.His limbs grew benumbed and were not even able to move around.He breathed his last and merged in Sai Baba at 3.45 a.m. on 19th October 1956, the holy Ashwaija poornima day.
When he attained Mahasamadhi, Narasimha Swamiji transferred all his spiritual powers to Radhakrishna Swamiji, whom he had anointed as his worthy successor. At that time, Radhakrishna Swamiji was staying in Bangalore. By the evening of 18th October 1956 Radhakrishna Swamiji learnt that the condition of Narasimha Swamiji was quite serious and therefore spent the entire night in meditation.

By 4 a.m. he came out of his meditation and informed his intimate devotees-

“My Gurudev Narasimha Swamiji has attained Mahasamadhi just now. As a parting gift he has given away all his spiritual prowess to me.”

He instructed them to get ready to catch the morning train to Madras.

Sai Baba had given away his treasure to Narasimha Swamiji on 29th August 1936 and now this was gifted to Radhakrishna Swamiji.

Indeed Radhkrishna Swamiji inherited the three in one treasure-the holy ‘Trinity’ from 19th October 1956 onwards. Along with a band of devotees Radhakrisha Swamiji left for Madras for taking part in the cremation and other final rituals.

Tidings of Narasimha swamiji’s Mahasamadhi spread quickly around and crowds rushed in to pay their respects. Reuter flashed the news over the globe. Telegrams poured in from far and near expressing grief at the heavy loss. Special services were arranged at various temples, headquarters of the All India Sai Samaj and affiliated upasamajams.

Condolence meetings were held by Sai devotees at various places all over the country mourning the sad demise of their mentor who showed them who Sai Baba is.

On the evening of 31st October 1956, a public meeting was held at the All India Sai Samaj. Kaviyogi Shuddhananda Bharathi Swamiji presided over the meeting. At this memorial service, Radhakrishna Swamiji, Rege Maharaj, Das Ganu Maharaj, Sri K.S.Ramaswamy Shastry, Sri. T.M. Krishnaswamy Iyer and other dignitaries paid glowing tributes to the departed Narasimha Swamiji and his services.To be continued...

Think Of Him And He Is There-Experience By Sudhir.

The experience conveys the message that if you have full faith on Baba you can have HIS darshan whenever you think of him with devotion. HE manifests HIMSELF in different forms and gives clues to the devotees of HIS presence .

Hi Manishaji,
I would like to share with you my experience with Baba which happened recently. It was on 26-Jan-2009, Tuesday noon at around 2.30 pm I was reading one of the books on Baba in which the lines read “The moment you think of me, I manifest before you” which is one of Baba’s promises. And the lines go on saying if this is wished with a pure heart, this would come true. I truly wished Baba should come before me and continued reading it. It was Tuesday at 2:30pm the time coincided with Baba’s Maha Samadhi day which was Tuesday, 2:30pm.

As we know, Baba took Mahasamadhi on 15-October-1918 , Tuesday noon. After about half an hour, I heard some chorus songs being chanted outside my house. I peeped outside to see Baba’s palki procession passing by my house. One can imagine my happiness. Such instances are many in my life where Baba proved that he is near and always caring. Baba is very Omnipresent.

“Think and he is there”. Thanks Baba for showering your love and Am always indebted to you. May I be your slave and serve you being very closely bonded with you in as many future births that I may have before I reach your holy abode. Amen.

It is good to come back to the web site again.I was away from Tanzania traveling and could not get access to the net in last fifteen days that is why I could not post anything on the website. If you remember I had contacted you when I was distressed and you had helped me .I would like to share my experience on your website.Thanks a lot for providing devotees with a chance to share their experiences through your website.

I have been experiencing Sai's grace ever since I started believing in him. Last year my husband applied for his H-1 visa.By god's grace it got approved,but finding a job in last year's economy was so tough.we both searched for nearly 2-3 months.There would be interviews setup.My husband would wait for weeks but to our dismay there was no positive response.Meanwhile I had finished reading the "MIRACLE" book of Sai in one week.I also did Satcharitra saptaha parayan.

I was so disturbed and used to cry often asking Sai "you gave us this visa then why don't you help us find a job?why are you testing me?".I had almost given up hope when an offer came up in last week of November.My husband was selected and was asked to join in 3 weeks.But his previous company did not let him resign until Dec 3rd week.I was thinking "Sai you got us this close and now this is happening".My husband somehow convinced the present company to wait for 6 weeks for him.All this happened because of Sai's grace and nothing else.

I too had applied for thedependent visa based on my husband's visa approval.my visa too got approved without showing a salary slip only because of sai in 2 months time.

I would like to say this to all Sai devotees.Do not lose faith and patience.Sai will help you in times of need.You just need to be more sincere and devoted in your prayers.

EFFICIENT SYSTEM FOR SAI PRACHAR-Part 2

In January 1945, he published the ‘Glimpses of Sai Baba’ with the Foreword by Justice Sri.C.N. Kuppuswamy Iyer. In this work, Narasimha Swamiji corrects the popular notion about Sai baba that he is only a miracle worker who delights in granting material favours to his devotees. The author has brought out how in every one of his actions and dealings with his devotees; Sai Baba was always having prominently in his mind the spiritual welfare of those devotees. In this book, Narasimha Swamiji has been able to throw a flood of light on the inner meaning of Baba’s sayings and doings’.

In the midst of his lecture tours and turning out Sai literature, Narasimha Swamiji also attended to his official duties. He disposed of correspondence, granted interviews, presided over committee meetings and annual general meetings and directed the daily activities at the headquarters. Some idea can be had of how much he was handling from the following extract taken from page 6 of ‘Sai Sudha’-April 1945;-

“The President finds himself unable to cope with the increasing pressure of work…..organization of the Upasmajams and Mandirs and supervision of the matter for Sai sudha are quite enough to keep all his time and energy…The institution suffers no less than the individual by concentration of all work on an old pair of shoulders’.

Narasimha Swamiji was doing everything-travel, correspondence,writing etc,-all by himself. Had it been a Government activity, a separate department would have been created. A separate University would not have undertaken the writing work he had completed. He used to direct the activities of Upasamajams himself. He used to send them messages periodically. He used to reply each and every letter addressed to him. On an average he used to work for 18 to 20 hours in a day. Though his body had worn out, he was a dynamic young man at heart.
In January 1946, the idea of holding an All India Sai Devotees convention was mooted by Narasimha Swamiji. The movement grew out of the local Upasamajams, which in turn looked for inspiration and guidance from Narasimha Swamiji and his group of volunteers. It became necessary therefore for a conference to be held between the delegates of Upasamajams and Narasimha Swamiji or a body of volunteers deputed by the headquarters. This conference was planned as an annual feature to discuss problems of organization and concert measures to strengthen and expand Sai movement.

Accordingly, after careful preparations the first All India Sai Devotees convention was organized on 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th May 1946 at the P.S. High School, Madras. Two hundred delegates registered from outside and several local devotees attended. The proceedings opened daily, with prayer and service in the forenoon at the All India Sai Samaj. The afternoon sessions were held at the Convention Hall in P.S. High School, Mylapore.

Narasimha Swamiji as President of the All India Sai Samaj was elected President of the Convention and also Chairman of the Reception Committee. The Convention opened in the afternoon of the 16th may 1946 after prayers in Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It is interesting to note that Narasimha swamiji while welcoming the delegates, referred to shortages of foodgrains, fuel, electricity, petrol and paper. He requested the delegates to accept whatever plain food was offered to them. He exhorted them to include ‘Narayana Seva’ (feeding the poor) in the activities of their Upasamajams and to work for communal harmony and brotherhood.

Among the messages of greetings received from those were from Rao Bahadur M.W.Pradhan and Justice Sri M.B. Rege, who had personal contact with Sai Baba. Das Ganu Maharaj, Marthand Mhalsapathy and swami Keshavaiah participated actively in the convention. Delegates discussed the activities of their samajams and problems narrated their experiences.

Resolutions were passed in line with the Presidential address. As started in Coimbatore by the Sai Baba Mission, it was also resolved that each Upasamajam should think in terms of starting Sai baba Gurukulams, Kanya Vidyalaya and Narasimha Ashramams to extend educational facilities and medical relief for the destitute, poor and needy. The Convention also noted with appreciation the working of the Sai Baba High School started by S. Adinarayana Rao at Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh in 1944. Narasimha Swmaji outlined his plans of starting a free dispensary and a School at Samaj premises for the use of slum dwellers and other poor and down trodden people.

The cultural programme of the convention included music, Sai Harikatha in Tamil and Telugu and a Telugu drama based on the life of Sai Baba.

The session closed in the afternoon on 19th May 1946 with ‘Narayana Seva’ organized at the backyard of the choultry at 136, Brodies Road. More than one thousand persons were served with food.

A copiously illustrated Souvenir, printed on art paper of the size of ‘Sai Sudha’ and priced at 8 annas a copy was brought out. Publishing Convention Souvenirs of larger size has come into practice ever since.

The first All India Sai Devotees Convention set the pattern for other conventions held in later years. Narasimha Swamiji’s age and declining health precluded him from attending subsequent conventions, which were held far away from Madras. But he sent messages to all these conventions. The impetus given to the movement by these Conventions is beyond description. It became popular year by year and the network of Sai devotees widened.

The Convention of Sai Devotees, which started in 1946, became an annual feature. At Coimbatore in 1947, at Madurai in 1949, at Calcutta in 1950, at Dharwar in 1951, at Pune in 1952, at Mumbai in 1953, at Baroda in 1954, the conventions were a great success and devotees were looking forward to these conventions eagerly. These conventions have enabled millions to join the Sai marg. Narasimha Swamiji was happy that the movement he started has taken gigantic proportions and is continuously growing.

By then at the Alamelu Mangapuram sector of Venkatesha Agraharam in Madras, a plot was purchased and a temporary shed was built. By donations from generous devotees, due to a powerful appeal in Sai Sudha and sale of Sai literature, funds were raised to complete the building of the front hall. Here Sai Baba’s picture was installed and worshipped on ‘Guru Poornima’ day on 7th July, 1952. By October 1953, construction of the temple with a tower on the model at Shirdi was completed.

On 9th September 1953, the Maharaja of Mysore, H.H. Sri Jayachamraja Wodeyar visited the Sai Mandir and donated Rs.5000/- which helped the samaj to buy a printing press.

The ‘Maha Kumbhabhishekam’ of the temple was fixed on 18th October 1953 during the ‘Mahasamadhi’ celebrations. The programmes started with Sri Sai Laksharchana and several homas. On 17th and 18th ‘Guru Aradhana’ was held by feeding many devotees and fakirs. The ‘Kalasa Stapana’ was performed on the 18th and the function closed with procession of Sai Baba with music and fire works.

The joy of the celebrations was marred by an accident. Earlier to the ‘Kumbhabhishekam’, Narasimha Swamiji had instructions around 7.30 a.m. from Sai Baba. “You won’t be able to perform Kumbhabhishekam. So do Kalasha Pooja now itself’. Devotees were surprised to see Narasimha Swamiji climbing the ladder to do ‘Kalasha Pooja’ at 7.30 a.m. itself, when the actual muhurtham fixed was at 11 a.m.

Around 8.30 a.m. Narasimha Swamiji slipped in the bathroom and broke his thigh bone. He was admitted to the Madras Medical College Hospital for treatment. His right thigh was in plaster cast for over eight weeks.

As already indicated to him by Sai Baba, Narasimha Swamiji could not perform ‘Kumbhabhisekam’ and on his behalf Radhakrishna Swamiji performed it and also other rituals connected with it.
In spite of agonizing pain and immobilization in plaster cast for eight weeks, Narasimha Swamiji did not express this pain on his face. He welcomed this accidental fall as “Sai Baba’s will and a way to alleviate past Karma”. Sai Baba’s Nama Smaram’ was constantly on his lips. In fact, he had converted his ward in the hospital to a miniature Sai Mandir.

Narasimha Swamiji’s untiring efforts had put the Sai movement on a strong pedestal. By 1956, All India Sai Samaj had grown by leaps and bounds. It had good revenue. Swamiji had groomed a band of dedicated volunteers.

EFFICIENT SYSTEM FOR SAI PRACHAR

In 1941, Narasimha Swamiji founded an organization named “All India Sai Samaj” with headquarters at Madras to serve as the center of activities of the Sai movement. During his tour in various towns several people became his followers and with the guidance of Narasimha Swamiji they started Sai Samajams, which were called ‘Upasamajams’ affiliated to the main body, the All India Sai Samaj.

With no place of its own to function from, the All India Sai Samaj was first housed in a small rented room in Venkatachala Mudali Street, Triplicane, Madras. On 13th April 1942, the Samaj moved to a house in T.S.V. Koil Street, Mylapore, Madras. This house was considered to be a haunted place and was therefore readily available to accommodate Sai Baba and Narasimha Swamiji. With their arrival, ghosts haunting that place should have got liberated! With the blessings of Swamiji two ‘Bhajan Mandalis’ came into existence-

1. The Narasimha Swamiji Dwarakamayi Prathama Sishya Ghosti headed by S.Sundareswara Iyer of the Railways.

2. The Triplicane Sai Bhajan Mandali led by C.R.Narasimha Raghavan.

In January 1943, the office of the All India Sai Samaj moved to 126, Brodies Road, Madras.

Literature, pictures, lockets, rings etc., were sold from the Central Sai Stores at this address. Even up to 1970 shops in Shirdi received their supplies of lockets, rings etc., from Madras.

Till a permanent building for the All India Sai Samaj was constructed in 1953, Narasimha Swamiji had evolved an efficient system for the propagation of the Sai movement. Each Thursday devotees would gather in the house of one chosen devotee by turn. On each occasion Narasimha Swamiji would present a picture of Sai Baba to the host of the day.

There would be bhajan and ‘Nama Sankirtan’ followed by a talk by Narasimha Swamiji extolling Sai ‘Mahima’. That was the humble and simple way in which he carried on the Sai bhakti movement, gathering sincere devotees in mere handfuls here and there.

Both Sai Baba and Narasimha Swamiji must have got tired of their itinerant life and Swamiji was longing for a permanent abode for Sai Baba in Madras. Around this time, a house in Mylapore had fallen vacant, the tenant having vacated it in a hurry when he found a dead cat in it. When this information was passed on to Narasimha Swamiji, he jumped at the idea and occupied the house without a moment’s hesitation.

When it was found that this house was not sufficient for the increasing number of devotees that were gathering for bhajans, particularly on Thursdays, Narasimha Swamiji moved over to the house of Dr. Nanjunda Rao in September 1943, on the North Mada Street in Mylapore, now known as Ramakrishna Mutt Raod.

In January 1949, When Dr, Nanjunda Rao’s grandson retired from service and wanted the house back for his own occupation; Narasimha Swamiji began to look for another suitable place for Sai baba. At this time an Advocate by name Shri Thyagarajan offered the use of the open space in fornt of his house in Venkatesha Agraharam. A pucca pandal was put up here and Sai Baba shifted here in January 1949.
Narasimha Swamiji now planned to have a permanent abode to house the All India Sai Samaj. With the donations received in response to his appeal he was able to buy a vast extent of land in the same road to the west of the location from where the Samaj was functioning. The plot was purchased for Rs. 29,770/- in 1949. Narasimha Swamiji began construction of a temple for Sai Baba at the newly acquired site. When the construction was in progress, on ‘Guru Purnima” day 7th July, 1952, Swamiji shifted the Samaj to the new site.

The main temple with ‘Garbagriha’ and tower were ready in October 1953. Narasimha Swamiji’s ambition was fulfilled and ‘Mahakumbabhishekam’ was performed on 19th October 1953. Regular worship began in the new Sai Mandir. With the funds available only a zinc sheet roofed open hall could be constructed in front of the shrine for devotees to sit and stand and offer pooja.

In 1954, land measuring approximately ten grounds to the west of the Sai Mandir came up for sale through court. Since this area would be very useful for expanding the humanitarian activities of the all India Sai Samaj, Narasimha Swamiji acquired this place also with great difficulty.
