Atlast after four months after i transferred my blogger blog to a custom domain my blog has accomplished a Google Pagerank of 3. Difficulty faced in blog migration to Wordpress

I have been trying to migrate my blogger blog to Wordpress for quite sometime. I have googled and found various methods of doing so. However I seem to be facing the same issue over and over again. After importing the blog I lose the pagerank/SEO juice and also none of my permalinks point to my old blogger links even though I have changed the permalink format of my Wordpress to that of Blogger before migration. Now there is a new problem. I get an "Internal Server Error" if I enter the URL of my Wordpress. I tried changing the DNS settings for my domain and creating CNAME and A Record but I cant even get to my login screen at http://satishmania.utdisa.com. For the moment I have switched back to Blogger until I find a solution.

Blog migration to custom domain

After almost nine months of blogging I have decided to move my blog to a custom domain. Here after all my new and existing posts will be redirected to satishmania.com. My ultimate aim is to switch to a custom domain on Wordpress after about 2 months. I also have an FTP account which I'll be implementing after I move to Wordpress as using FTP on blogger makes me ineligible to import my blog to Wordpress. The reason I moved to a custom domain before switching to Wordpress is to preserve my PR, Backlinks and the SEO juice. In about two months most of the serach engines would have updated my URLs to the custom domain thereby preserving my traffic which won't require me to start from scratch after I switch to Wordpress. I recently signed up for Chitika which is a good alternative for adsense. The ads appear similar to adsense ads. Chitika has certain features which are very unique. I would like to discuss about some of the best MMORPG (Massively-Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). I am currently playing Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction and Dark Swords. ActiveSync through Bluetooth

ActiveSync, a synchronization program developed by Microsoft allows a mobile device to be synchronized with a Desktop PC. Other than syncing your contacts, calendar, tasks and notes you can also use services like connecting to internet through your Windows Mobile using your Desktop PC's internet connection. You can also Install/Uninstall programs on your mobile and copy/remove files as well.

Here is a step by step guide to setup ActiveSync via Bluetooth
(Note that the features correspond to ActiveSync 4.5 and a Windows Mobile 6 or higher powered Device)

* Setup a Bluetooth partnership between your PC and your Mobile. This doesn't require much explaining. The process just involves turning on the Bluetooth on both your mobile and PC and making them discoverable and them to the "Devices" list on each other.

* Go to control panel on your PC and open Bluetooth Manager. Add a Bluetooth COM port under the tab called as Local Services. Select Add Serial Device and make a note of the COM Port Number.

* Set the Bluetooth COM port in the ActiveSync connection settings dialog. And select the same COM port number which you noted down before. Make sure the Connection Settings is as shown it the screenshot.

* On your Handset go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth
Your PC should be listed in the Devices Tab (If step 1 was successfully done)
Click on the PC device in the list to open the “Partnership Settings” screen.

* After clicking on the “Refresh” button, you should see a “ActiveSync” service on your mobile.

* Open ActiveSync on your Mobile Device : Start -> Programs -> ActiveSync

Click on Menu -> Connect via Bluetooth ! If the ActiveSync partnership has been configure properly as described above, you should see activity on ActiveSync running both on PC and the mobile device. If your PC is connected to the Internet, the same will also be used by your Bluetooth connected mobile device.

Asus p527 - My Latest Mobile

I recently purchased the latest Windows Mobile from Asus. The p527. First of all I would like to point out that if you are into mobile gaming then this is the last phone on earth that you'll ever want to buy! The maximum amount of memory(RAM) that can be available after you have managed to kill all processes doesn't exceed 20 MB. And most of the new PDA games like Call of Duty 2 need atleast 15 MB memory. There is another annoying feature. These games only run on landscape mode and there is no setting or application to make them work on portrait mode(atleast as far as I know). Add to it the fact that the keypad on the phone is too small and without the stylus its impossible to play. Imagine controlling your character in Call of Duty 2 with the stylus! Or worse driving a car in a race game like Need for Speed High Stakes with the stylus! Has gaming ever been more difficult or annoying on any other phone or console? Considering I switched over from N-Gage to p527 you can imagine what a difficult time I must be having!
Anyway coming to the "good" features of this model. Its got GPS and Wi-Fi. You don't have to pay a dime for any of those services. Another feature thats very useful is the Active Sync. You can Sync your phone to your PC through USB or Bluetooth( Yes through bluetooth! I tried it and it works!) and have your phone use your PC's internet connection! This is useful if you are into WAP gaming (like me). Finally I can now play WAP games without GPRS. (I am currently looking for a MMORPG game for windows mobile).
As a stock model this phone doesn't support file transfer through bluetooth directly onto MMC. I use a third party bluetooth application for it. And for a new user sending an sms from this phone can drive him crazy. At first I thought its impossible to type without the stylus but there is way to do it. I have still not tried other features on this phone like Remote Desktop Connection and I still can't figure out a way to select a ringtone without saving it first to phone memory. Anyway I am still exploring a lot of other features but I have to say atleast this phone doesn't bore me as it always has something new and springs up a surprise every now and then! As an example I didn't know about the Bluetooth - Active Sync option until a week ago.And there are thousands of applications to experiment with and upgrading/reinstalling the OS is as easy as on your PC as its a Windows Mobile. Alexa improves my blog's rank again

Alexa has been improving my blog's rank almost everyday for the past 2 weeks. Now my blog's Alexa ranking stands on a career high 665,494 considering it was ranked some 5 million five months ago! Its a vast improvement in my opinion. I am waiting for the next Google PR update now. It should happen by mid March.

After a wait of more than 3 months Alexa finally updated my blog's rank. But I had to send them a few emails and install their toolbar on my browser. First of all I would like to point out that Alexa can take upto 4 months(or even more like in my case) to update your site ranking. And the the only way to improve the Alexa ranking is by installing their toolbar. And you must also encourage your friends and other users to do so. Fortunately or unfortunately thats the only way. The is the way it works. You browse your site everyday with their toolbar installed on your browser. The toolbar then communicates with Alexa and updates the traffic/hits to your site in its database. Eventually you will see an improvement in your Alexa ranking. Anyone else visiting your site with Alexa toolbar installed in their browser also add to the hits. Frankly, I think Alexa is a bit selfish in having a policy of their toolbar having to be installed in order for them to improve our ranking. But revenue generating services like PayPerPost require a good Alexa ranking as well apart from Google PR so I finally made the decision to install their toolbar. I won't say that I encourage users to do the same. But if some of you have registered for a few services that require Alexa ranking then you must install Alexa toolbar.
