How To | Modern Address Numbers & Outdoor Link Up

Yesterday I shared some pics of refreshing the front of my house. I did a quick and cheap update to my address numbers that just makes me smile every time I pull into the garage! Here is how I did it:

I measured out the already given lighted frame {I figured why mess with the patch job I would need to do and it already is lit... so just use that.} I pulled out some extra paint sticks {free!!} and cut them down to size.

A quick stain from my supply cabinet {left over from my MCM Credenza Makeover... free again}

Since the plastic tiles that were existing were pretty thick I used another paint stick cut to fit to fill up the space. Then I just placed the wood slats in the frame. The last cut was about a 1/4" which I just cut with scissors.

I purchased the numbers at The HD for less than $5 each. Since I have such a sort address the whole project was less than $15! My favorite sort of project!

Our House | Outdoor Decor

Since I don't have a backyard to refresh for the season I thought I would add a little more character to the front of my house.

Last week I shared my new DIY concrete planters. Then decided I needed one more large one on the right side and two small ones in front of the arch way. I will get to that soon... hopefully!

We also have plans to add steps to the front door, and build a front patio, but with focus on the backyard, I really needed to keep this simple.

For a simple and inexpensive update I swap out the generic plastic tile address numbers with some thing a little more our style. All of the homes come with this black framed, always lit address plaque so it is the perfect place to have the address. Tomorrow I will share how I changed this out for less then $15!

At the front door I added some modern style wrought iron garden trellis I found at HL. In front of these is where I will be adding the two small concrete planters.

I had planned on switching out my door wreath for a new summer one. Again I picked up the driftwood wreath on clearance at HL and added some faux succulents {but they look so real!!} and some seashells.

I also picked this welcome rug up from the clearance end cap at Target, and I love the pop of color. I an now thinking of some thing else here... maybe it will change next week! HA... that is how I roll these days!

Defiantly a work in progress... but I am getting there!

Client Project | Beachy-American Great Room

I am in the home stretch for my Beachy-American Great Room!

Here are some progress pics of what developed last week:

I painted blue and cream stripes in the family room to lighten up the room. Do you see the "big red tomato" recliner {as my client likes to refer to it}? This was one thing her 6'4" husband would not let go of... so we gave in. I am pretty sure I can make it look good... fingers crossed!

Two new pendants were installed above the island. Arn't the super fun!?! They look like a chicken cage to me, and have the new trendy Edison bulbs for the vintage effect. Admittedly the barstools are too high... but they were my clients fathers and have real gold on the foot rest. They actually fit really well into the space so they are staying!

I had a new pantry door installed with an amazing scroll glass. For accent color in the kitchen we decided to paint out the island and the pantry door and frame. I am loving the dark red barn color on the door and the frame! Painting out the frame really made the door pop! And I love the contrast with the cool beachy tile of the backsplash.

I also had some fabulous under cabinet lighting installed to show off the new backsplash! Since they didn't have a light rail installed when they with the cabinetry I was not going to try to match it now so I selected a new amazing LED light strip that fits with in the 3/4" space on the bottom!

Still so much to do!

My Coffee Table Styling Options

Oh TGIF!

As always a busy week.. but a very productive one at least on the design business side. A not so productive one on the design personal side. =(

While I was on my girls getaway last weekend, the hubs found the correct parts to assemble the amazing coffee table! Pardon the nakedness! I have not had a free minute to dress her!

So I have been searching for some inspiration. Should I go minimal or large grouping?

What would you choose?

Hopefully this weekend I can find some time to play around with styling. Although I lived without a cocktail table for 6 months... I might be living without something on it for 6 more!!

Spray Painters Anonymous | Kim Macumber Interiors

Hi everyone! Thank you Tiffany for inviting me over for a little Spray Painting refresher!

We finally have Spring here in New England and this always makes me want to just freshen up a little outside. After a hard snowy winter, everything is drab and dull.

Springtime also inspires me to have a little fun and not take my decorating quite so seriously!

So I painted the pots on my Front Landing!

Yes, I have these two helpers no matter what my project is!!

So here is where I started ... things looking pretty sad!

And, yes, I need to get a particular family member (my sweet husband!!) to PLEASE power wash the front steps!!

I will say that Boxwoods can hang tough during the winter. The pots ... not so much!!

This kind of reminds me of my girls' when they just get out of the Shower!

A fresh coat of Lacquer Spray Paint and A quick home made stencil with our street number!
