1) The Blue Violinist Over West End Avenue

The Stein family gathers on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to celebrate an engagement. But when their youngest son arrives with an unexpected guest, the joyful occasion begins to unravel—revealing old wounds, buried secrets, and divisions that may be impossible to overcome. As a mysterious blue violinist watches over them, three generations must confront what it means to remain a family when the people they love no longer see the world in the same way. Inspired by the spirit of Sholem Aleichem’s Tevye, The Blue Violinist Over West End Avenue is a funny, provocative, and deeply moving new play about family, faith, identity, and the enduring—and sometimes fragile—power of love.

Theatre Row, Theatre Five (410 W. 42nd St.)

10/28 - 12/5

Opening Night 11/1

For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.blueviolinistplay.com

2) Boomer

One man. Decades of noise. BOOMER is a raw, comedic, and deeply personal play exploring a lifetime of rapid cultural transformation from one man’s Detroit auto-plant roots through the psychedelic '60s; into the sun-drenched, dream-chasing streets of Los Angeles; the high-octane greed of Wall Street; and the ash of 9/11. Equal parts stand-up, social critique, and eulogy, the show puts a generation’s idealism through a woodchipper of grievance and irony. Through a rapid-fire gallery of vivid characters, BOOMER holds a mirror up to the generation that set out to save the world and ended up owning it. Strap in for a full-throttle reckoning with the world inherited, the world built, and the digital wilderness ahead. BOOMER challenges audiences of every generation to confront their own choices, compromises, and the fragile fiction of modern civilization, asking the uncomfortable questions: When the incentives change, do you abandon your beliefs? Was solidarity just a song on the radio, or did we trade the freedom of Venice Beach for title insurance and three espresso machines?

3) The Charioteer

Growing up, Charly’s older brother was her protector and role model, but they’ve barely spoken since he went away to college. When she tags along to a bewildering night out with his new friends, she discovers that Owen is deep into a political transformation that she doesn’t understand. Ten years later, he needs her help. But first, she needs answers. The Charioteer follows a brother and sister on the brink of catastrophe, learning how to fight with—and for—the people they love.

5) Feltman World's First Hotdog

Before sliced bread, there was the hot dog! Actor, playwright, historian and former Feltman's hot dog brand owner Michael Quinn brings this incredible true story to life, performing every role in a dynamic one-person show. Travel back to 19th century Coney Island as German immigrant Charles Feltman rises from struggle to revolutionize street food. Quinn, who himself successfully revived the legendary brand before facing his own challenges, weaves a powerful parallel between past and present. Blending humor, heart and history, this must-see performance tells the story of resilience, reinvention and the food that changed the world!

6) Here There are Blueberries

In 2007, an album of Nazi-era photographs arrived at the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist. The photographs weren’t like any that had been seen before. As curators unraveled the truth behind the images, the album soon made headlines and ignited a debate that reverberated far beyond the museum walls. Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries tells the story of these historical photographs – what they reveal about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, and our own humanity.

B) Book

10 ) Still, Bill: Gay Adventures From Cowboyland to Bwy by Bill Russell

How does an effeminate boy–raised in Cowboyland with cattle and guns, hunting and trucks, sports and church, jocks and jerks, cruelty and small-mindedness–get from the Black Hills of South Dakota to the thrills and heartbreak of the white-hot lights of Broadway and the West End? The answer can be found in this memoir by the author of Side Show, elegies for angels, punks and raging queens, and Pageant, among other musicals. This frequently amusing, sometimes wild, often moving ride proceeds from creating grade school productions of fairy tales to writing the books and lyrics for internationally produced musicals and collaborating with the super-smart, uber-talented, and sometimes famous. Along the way, the author provides a ringside seat for viewing the huge cultural changes from the 1950s to the 2020s: hippies and flower power, women’s and gay liberation, civil rights and wrongs, AIDS and covid, and the softening of hardened attitudes offset by alarming pushbacks against justice and democracy.

This book will be released on 10/27.

Now available for pre-order.

For one night only, go behind the scenes with the O’Neill’s 2026 National Playwrights Conference artist-in-residence, Robert O’Hara, and artistic director Melia Bensussen.

Learn about O’Hara’s immersive Tennessee Williams experience, which weaves together the structures and characters of A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Sweet Bird of Youth into one work. Before its world premiere at The Shed, hear performance excerpts and learn about the creative process in a conversation with the artists. All are invited to continue the conversation at a reception in the rotunda.
