Just some cheap Uniross 2000mAh NI-MH's, they work fine, they're the only ones I've ever tried, I had them in my previous wireless keyboard too (the white ones, before the AluBoards)

Got some very cheap non-rechargeable Tesco AA's in there at the moment as the last time my batteries ran out, I didn't have a charged pair to hand, and they've lasted quite a few months so far without showing any signs of dying off.

what kind and type of rechargeable battery are you using? i can't get my apple wireless keyboard to work on rechargeables. I've tried the Sanyo Eneloop and the Energizer e2. i thought it was the fact that rechargeables are 1.2V, but i've read others are using. thoughts?
