When I started this blog 3 years ago I was completely devoted to graphic design. I was convinced that I'd soon have a digital scrapbook store, or a place in an existing one, and was committed to making that happen. When my dad died a month later I had what I like to call my "well deserved breakdown", which was not at all in my plans. I quit digital designing and just about everything else as well. I assumed that I'd come back to graphic design when it was time. It's time. :)

This is one of those that might seem weird in the midst of all of the Navy & patriotic themed items that I've been posting, but I just love this alpha so I can't help it, lol. I hope someone can use it. It might be fun in a "girls night out" page or something to that effect. Well...for anyone who was waiting on more military themed freebies I have to apologize. I've been MIA for a while. 4 months, for those keeping score. My dad passed away in February so I put designing aside while I've been trying to juggle homeschooling my 14 yr old boy (& yes mom, it's still "school" even if we don't keep a set schedule...), preparing for my husband's fast approaching 7 month deployment, on top of the normal day to day household stuff and making the seemingly endless phone calls it's taking to settle dad's estate while trying to find a few minutes once in a while to actually grieve. It's been a difficult few months. Add to that the pressure of family members who feel the need to tell me that the way I parent and the spiritual guidence (or, in thier opinion, the lack thereof) I offer is wrong and the way they talk.....I swear I wouldn't be surprised if the next phone call I get is someone telling me that I've been found responsible for global warming and what am I gonna do about it?

Do I sound stressed?

So I've taken some time very recently to tune out some of the people in my life who are making me feel that I'm just not doing my job right...because of course everyone who loses thier father should be all better and completely back to normal in 4 months, right? Anyway, I'm "trying" to tune that out and concentrate instead healing myself both spiritually and emotionally, which has meant that I've finally been able to go back into my photos and find solace in my memories rather than wanting to run from them. Which of course then leads to...scrapping. :)

I always feel better when I finish a page...

So now that I'm back to doing something that makes me feel better, and because I made you listen to me whine, I'm finally posting a new freebie. I really like how my Navy kit is coming along. It's taking me a while because it's so large, so I thought I'd post this mini kit to pass the time until the full kit is posted. I'm especially happy with how the ribbon trim turned out. My style is to make things that (mostly) look like "real" scrapbook stuff rather than digital, so I hope I've accomplished that here. Anyway, I have to go fix my husband's computer so enjoy the freebie and have a good night!

Hi everyone! I don't have a lot to talk about right now, but I wanted to post these 2 new military designs this morning. I'm finally inspired to create again so it looks like military is the way I'm going for now. You'll find, if you visit here regularly at all, that I bounce around from one theme to another and back again like an off balance pinball. :) At any rate, I hope you like them and I'll be posting another freebie tonight. Wordart freebie!

I love this new wordart! I didn't want to make wordart tonight but I'm so glad that I went this way. I made a full patriotic alpha set in the flag colors and made them 3D with a very glossy surface. The full alpha set will be included in a future military kit that I'm planning. Since my husband is in the Navy I'm going to make a complete Navy kit with tons of elements first, then move on to other branches because I don't want to leave anyone out, lol. It will be a very long time before any full kits are posted, but I do have several military pieces already finished so I'll dribble them out to you over the next few weeks if I get enough interest in the military theme.

Good morning & Freebie Overlay!

I had meant to post this yesterday but time just ran out on me. I've been going through a time where I don't sleep much so last night after a week of getting a couple hours a night, my body went on strike and made me pass out at around 3am. So I feel oddly rested today, lol. I'll spend the day playing in Photoshop, so I hope to have another freebie post ready for later today.

Speaking of freebie posts, I have an overlay for you today. It's 12x12 and looks really nice as a plain frame around 1 photo in the middle. It's got a translucent background of course, so it can be used in any color with any kits you may have.

First off I'd like to say thank you so much for the positive comments here and on 4Shared! I really appreciate them and positive comments make me want to design more and more so just know that every comment you leave makes me happy and gives you more free goodies, lol.
I said I'd post another freebie yesterday but I missed my deadline by a couple of hours (although technically it's still "tonight" for me because I'm a serious night owl--bedtime is usually 4-5am for me). Here is my first installment of an as-of-yet unnamed kit with a masculine feel. I'm the only girl in my house so you'll often see a lot of baby/boy/manly types of kits from me, although I'm currently scrapping my own personal llife story in order to pass down to my son and his children, so from time to time I'll post the odd (some may say "very odd", lol) kit for girls.
I'm also working on a musical template that should be ready for download in a few days, so check back soon for that. Thanks again everyone!

I don't have a lot of time to write but I wanted to get this posted as soon as I could. I love snowmen and I just adore how this face turned out. It's a little late for snowman postings but I just know that I'm not the only one who still has Christmas 07 pics to scrap, lol. Let me know if you like them because I'm planning on making a mini kit with this face being the main theme.

I know this is a tiny freebie but tomorrow I'll be posting my first paper pack freebie to make up for it. Have a great night all. :)

Hi world! :) I'm working on getting my first freebie ready to post so hopefully I'll have it up tonight. I've actually made a ton of papers and elements already, but I still have to make the packaging...the pretty preview thumbnails and my logos, all that stuff. I'm having so much fun!
