Just want to share my happy happy feelings last Sunday with the husband. This is something that needs to be a part of my happy moments in life. You know why? Because it’s been almost 4 years since my husband and I went out on a date just by ourselves. Living here abroad without relatives or immediate family is definitely hard most of the time especially if you have young kids. Unlike before, when we were still in the Philippines, we can just live our kids in my mom’s house or a close friend’s house. For me, it is sometimes great for couples to go out without their kids. To have their own moment for a couple of hours. I believe it’s important to couples. I’m explaining this to all of you, so people won’t call me shallow for being exaggerated with regards to my date Our first plan for this date was to watch a Chicago Bull’s game at United Center but since it way too expensive we settled to our second option and that is to watch a movie.

Anyways, let’s go back to the topic. As I was saying, my hubby and I went out last Sunday to watch ‘Shutter Island’ at downtown Chicago. But before that, we went to some stores first. We checked out Marshalls for some goodie stuff to purchase. I found a Micheal Kors bag which cost $99.99 . I liked the bag’s style so much. It’s a body bag, shoulder, messenger whatever you wanna call it. It’s the kind of style for a bag that I really want. If it wasn’t a designer bag I might have purchased it. I really wanted to buy it. I felt like I’m gonna grab it and pay for it and will not care if it is expensive. But I held back cos I need to buy new sneakers cos my old one is already tattered. As a mom of two, it is way comfortable for me if I wear sneakers than high healed shoes as I walk a lot. So we headed to Niketown and spent the money I earned from paid posts. I got the Woman Dunk Low style in color red. I like it a lot After a little bit of shopping we then watched the movie and ate dinner at Friday’s then picked up the kids at my friend’s house and went home. That was one of the awesome date I’ve had with my man.

By the way, just a thought about the movie, ‘Shutter Island’. I don’t like it cos it’s not what I expected it to be. I thought it was hella scary or some gory movie which could be something new for Leonardo DiCarpio. Don’t get me wrong the movie is good. It deserves the rating it got. I just really thought that it was a bloody movie cos that’s what I’ve seen from the trailer. The movie is similar to ‘A Beautiful Mind’ and ‘Reign over me’ combined.

My kids love to read together although the little one does not know how to read yet. My eldest loves to pretend that she understands what her little sister is babbling about the book. She just want her little sister to feel that she enjoys what she’s been talking about. Sometimes she teaches her little sister how to say the word exactly how it’s written in the book. They both love to read. Since Yuna started reading books by herself, she’s now in charge to be the reader at night. I still read to both of them when Yuna brings a new book from school. I feel so amazed how my two little girls interact with me after reading a story. They’re so attentive.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to finish all my online tasks before the cut-off, tomorrow my plans include putting away ALL the laundry and Sunday, I’m going to watch ‘Shutter Island’ with the husband minus the kids!

Two weeks ago Yuna had a dental check up and I also took the opportunity for Freya to see the dentist too. It was the little one’s first dental check-up. I’m so proud of her cos she behaved so well. She did not even cry a little. I got complimented by the dentist for keeping my little one’s teeth healthy and clean. Actually, the dentist was so surprised like she assumed that every kid have ruined teeth. She also assumed that Freya would cry cos she was a little forceful when opening her mouth. I really hate people who assume too much. I don’t like that dentist. She was rude when she talked to me. She was impolite when I asked her a question if it’s OK to drink milk before bed. She just snapped at me and said just read the manual without even looking at me I don’t know if I’m going back to that clinic or I might look for a different dentist for Freya. The dentist should be thankful cos their job is easier. My kids are usually behaved on public. They don’t run around like other kids.

How was your Vday celebration guys? Hope you all had fun and your day was filled with love. Mine was so amazing. Hubby and I exchanged Vday cards like we always do every year. Two of us should really have cards for every occasion. It’s a must. Furthermore, we ate out at the restaurant where my hubby works. We didn’t pay anything but we tipped out about 40 bucks. It sounds like a huge tip but that’s how it should be cos like I said we didn’t pay anything. We did some shopping at Borders and Bestbuy too but the most romantic part of my vday was when hubby played my fave instrumental song, Canon in C from the movie ‘My Sassy girl’ in guitar version (check out the video of him below). He played it so well that made me feel giddy I have this indescribable feeling when someone plays a song for me. I find it so sweet.  Not only that, the next day he gave me a pocket HD camcorder which I’ve been wanting for a longest time. Obviously, I love to take videos of my kids and also during special days like birthdays. We never had a handy-cam eversince so it’s a perfect gift for me. Thank you so much Luvski for being so extra sweet to me The pocket camcorder is great stuff. I will talk about it in my gadget blog and will write a little review as well

When I first saw you, I saw love. And the first time you touched me, I felt love. And after all this time, you’re still the one I love. Looks like we made it, look how far we’ve come my baby. We mighta took the long way, We knew we’d get there someday. They said, “I bet they’ll never make it” (I know you knew that so many peeps out there have said this to us) but just look at us holding on. We’re still together still going strong. And for you DL, I want you to read this but please don’t let your mind sing this. I may not be always vocal about my feelings towards you but I know one thing deep inside me that I can not live without you. I can’t imagine my life without you. Sometimes this is the reason why I love reading Vampire Romance books. I always daydream of being immortal and spend eternity with you. I want both of us to live young forever. Always in love forever. No seasonal mood, hormonal or physical changes can impede my love to you. No any reasons can take you away from me. Yeah, love for me sometimes can be selfish. The little one got another new educational toy from Vtech. I’m trying to teach her to familiarize the alphabets. Like I always said, it’s better for them to hear the sounds from the toy itself cos they can imitate the word properly.

Freya has been very sick since Saturday. She’s been feeling feverish and her fever only goes down when the medicine takes effect on her but after 6 or 8 hours her temperature is  high again. Actually, she started feeling irritable after she had that H1N1 vaccine a week ago. I had two intuitions regarding this matter, first I thought of it as side effects of that vaccine and 2nd maybe Freya got it from her big sis Yuna since Yuna had fever too but it didn’t last a day. Yuna felt OK though she was still coughing and a little bit congested during that day but she wasn’t inactive. The latter part was what the doctor’s believe of causing Freya’s illness. I made sure from the doctor as well that the vaccine wasn’t the main reason. I know It’s like I’m over reacting but I’ve heard  a lot of rumors about the vaccine’s side effects and I just wanna make sure before I can have a peaceful mind. It is Freya’s 1st time to be terribly sick and very weak. Sure she got colds several times but she never inactive. Before, even though she has fever, she’s still able to dance and play with her sister unlike this time she cant even eat and drink properly. She even vomited 3 times last night. That’s why we’ve decided to walk-in at the clinic this morning. Good thing they allowed us. Usually you have to set an appointment for like 2 or 4 weeks before you can see a doctor.

As for me, this is the hardest part of being a mom. Being undecided whether to take your kids to the doctor right away or not. I hate the observing part. I understand why some of the momies can not help not to overreact when their kids have fever. Honestly, there’s nothing serious about your kid being feverish unless the fever lasts for days. This is the reason why I don’t take my kids to the doctor right away when they have fever cos I don’t want to hinder doctors busy schedule. I give my kids pain reliever or fever reducer 1st and when the fever takes about 3 to 5 days that’s the time I worry and call their pediatrician.

As for Freya’s pedia visit today, the doctor said that both her ears have infections and the cause is her being too congested.  She is dehydrated too from not taking too much liquid. As what I have said, she barely eats and drink the past few days. They let her use the Nebulizer too. At first the doctor’s thought that she may have bronchitis but she’s just too congested that makes her look like she’s having an asthma attack. The doctor’s prescribed her Antibiotic, Pedialyte and Motrin. As of now, she’s still weak but we can now see a smile on her. I hope she’ll get completely better soon. Freya looks awful today.

After we got home. The stuffed toy was a present from her pedia cos she was a good girl. She followed instructions w/o complains nor did she cry.

I wanna say sorry to all my friends in community websites for not being able to catch up. I’ll be missing in action for more unless my baby feels completely OK (?_?)

While dropping Entrecards, I stumbled upon this website that needs urgent help. I feel saddened while perusing this article. I’m just trying to help this one family by spreading this sad news about their daughter named Amanda. Maybe someone out there can help, we wouldn’t know.  I think upon writing this post Amanda is now recovering. Let’s pray for this young woman for her full recovery.

Amanda was a premature baby and has had lots of medical issues throughout her life. Amanda is 27 years old but has the mentality of a 2 – 3 year old. She is deaf and uses very limited sign language and some of her own signs. Additionally, Amanda got meningitis at 2 months old and needed shunts in her head to pump spinal fluid from her brain to belly. This makes it very challenging for us and the doctors to figure out what is going on once things start to go wrong. Amanda is able to tell us when something hurts, but she can’t explain the level of pain or pinpoint exactly where the pain is. Continue Reading here for the full story…
