Angelina Jolie Is Extra Elegant in a Saint Laurent Cape

By now, news of Angelina Jolie’s double mastectomy are everywhere. As to when (exactly) she had the surgery, we don’t know. But we do commend her for being brave and courageous enough to a.) go through with the procedure, and b.) tell the whole world about it. We’re huge Angie fans here and this recent act of hers has only made us love her even more.

Now speaking of Angelina, the actress was actually spotted sporting an exquisite cape while attending the 4^th Annual Women of the World Gala in New York last month. She wore the floor-length topper over an olive green Saint Laurent gown.

Wow, amazingly beautiful, right?

The gown is very simple, but the floor-grazing cover-up made her look like a queen. It’s the perfect add-on to her classic look!

Are These Tasseled Scarves Tempting to Grab or No?

When it comes to tassels and pom poms, we here at ScarvesWraps have mixed feelings. Sometimes we love the frilly add-ons, sometimes we don’t.

This season, we found some fresh (tasseled) drops at Nordstorm that might be worth checking out. While we can’t say they’re amazingly pretty, we actually find them quite charming.

Whether or not tassels are growing on us, we’re certainly not sure. However, we do know that this new batch is a lot nicer to look at. Of course, it your call at the end of the day.

DIY to Try: How to Make a Purse from a Silk Scarf

For a change, we wanted our post for today to be different, so we went on a hunt for some quick DIY projects that make use of the perennially elegant silk scarf. A scarf has many uses (depending on which type, of course), but most often than not, we don’t really get to maximize its potential.

For example, did you know that a silk scarf can be turned into a purse or a sac? Of course you did. But have you actually ever tried turning it into one? We bet you haven’t.

Here’s a very helpful (not to mention, simple) YouTube video (by CorieeSilk) that shows how easy it is to turn our favorite silk extra into a handy purse:

Julie Bowen looks just as pretty off camera as she does in front of the lens. Even when she isn’t all dolled up, the Modern Family star exudes the same charming appeal that has made her so lovable on TV.

Yesterday, Julie was spotted arriving at a hotel in New York along with the rest of the show’s cast. Her off-duty get-up included an army jacket, blue denims, a tee, and trainers — not exactly what you’d call ultra fashionable, but the extras she added pulled her whole look together and made it work. Julie accessorized with black-rimmed glasses, a gorgeous designer purse, and a red scarf around her neck. Coupled with the army jacket, it was an outfit worthy of a lookbook:

How do you like Julie’s casual street style? She looks pretty darn effortless, doesn’t she? It’s casual, it’s rugged, but it’s also very chic. We also love how she chose a red scarf; a more muted or subdued color wouldn’t have worked.

Kate Moss Caps Off Her Rocker Style with a Scarf

Kate Moss will always and forever be the icon of boho-rocker style. The model may be semi-retired, and yes, she’s almost 40, but she can still work an outfit as well (or perhaps even better) than her much younger counterparts.

Last week, Kate was spotted sporting her signature look while leaving a resto in Notting Hill after having lunch with her friends. She complemented her all-black outfit with Isabel Marant boots, a snake print tote, plus a thin printed scarf.

How do you like Kate’s model-off-duty style?

Edgy per usual. But we love how she added a touch of extra by wearing a scarf around her neck. It may not be a statement accessory in Kate’s case, but it dressed up her look to a certain degree. Would you consider channeling her get-up?

It’s a really easy one to pull off. Just make sure you have the key pieces — namely, a leather jacket, patterned pointy boots, an exotic skin tote, and a gorgeous printed scarf.

Jane Fonda Gets Fabulous in Leopard Print

How old is Jane Fonda? Can you take a wild guess? We honestly had to look it up on Google because we couldn’t tell just by looking at her face. Yes, she has wrinkles. They’re there. But the 75 year old (yes, she’s 75; turning 76 this December!) sure has a body that looks decades younger. Seriously, we wish we could look like her when we get that old.

Now our dear Ms. Fonda was actually recently honored with a handprint (and footprint) ceremony during the 2013 TCM Classic Film Festival (held last week). Her name can now be found on the Walk of Fame alongside other legendary stars.

For the event, she wore a very simple outfit — wide-leg pants and a white v-neck fitted top. But what really pulled her look together was the neck accessory she used — an animal printed scarf that added just enough drama to turn her style into something bold and elegant:

Can you imagine how ordinary she would have looked without that scarf? That tiny bit of extra really made a huge different, yes? It just goes to show how a scarf can work wonders to an outfit.

Ms. Fonda’s look here is very classic and timeless. Anyone can copy it without failing. When it comes to Kelly Brook, here’s one conclusion we’d like to make – the British bombshell relies on the scarf to look good when she’s dressed down. Didn’t we just see her getting laid-back casual in a printed pink number a few weeks back?
