Happy Monday! Today, I&#39;m sharing my newest art creation with y&#39;all ~ an anchor-ish type form made from clothes hangers! 

 

I’m calling it a “hang-chor.” I unwound a couple hangers, bent and twisted them, and wrapped floral wire around them until they resembled an anchor as much as possible. I mounted the finished product on an old canvas which I painted in aqua and green tones.

Are you loving all the rag garlands lately? They are just lovely, and such a good use of scrap fabric! I decided to make one to soften up our mantel area for summertime.

I used ivory toile scraps, some aqua painted fabric scraps, and some bleached teal fabric scraps. This art was fun, easy and inexpensive to make! 

All you need is:

Canvas
Craft Paint and Distressing Ink
State Map (got mine on the discount endcap at Walgreen’s for 49 cents)

And all I did was:

Paint the canvas the color(s) you desire and allow to dry. Cut shapes from the map to resemble the design on the South Carolina state flag.
