After significant discussions between both clubs over a number of months we are delighted to announce that Schalke Rovers will merge with Mid Sutton Seniors to become Mid Sutton Schalke. Both clubs originate from Bayside and Sutton areas. There was almost unanimous support in both clubs in favour of the merger. Hopefully this is the start of a great new chapter for the club. The new club will be the largest in the local area fielding four adult teams. More details to follow…..

Awards were presented at the AGM on 24th of May for player of the season for 2011/12. Winners were Paul Daly(1sts) and Eamon O’Halloran (2nds). Golden Boots were shared between Stephen McDonnell, Johnathan Crouch (1sts) and also divided in the 2nds between Graeme Mooney and Andy Keegan.

Schalke Rovers are holding are annual Race Night this Saturday. We have sold over 100 horses for the 12 race event. We would love you to come and enjoy our night. A full TOTE Bet will operate on the night. Each bet costs 2 euro. Free Drinks for the first ten ladies who arrive. We will also have a raffle on the night with plenty of prizes including restaurant vouchers and a signed framed Dublin Jersey.

So please come and enjoy a Saturday night with a a difference!

Founded in 1995, Schalke Rovers are a friendly, progressive and successful amateur football club based on the Northside of Dublin. We have two Men’s teams playing on Saturdays in the UCFL and an Over 35’s team who play in the AFL.

Schalke Rovers has excellent training and match day facilities (photo above). Winter training is held on Ireland’s best synthetic grass pitch.  An article about the facility is here.  All of our facilities have parking and are well served by public transport.

After a poor run of form and some unconvincing displays the 35s got back to winning ways on Saturday 28 February with a 4-0 win over St Brendans United. Fair play lads. Goals from Scott, Eamo 2 & Pater from the peno spot.
