Eligibility:
1. The student should be of Indian origin and studying in the state of Kerala or Tamil Nadu in any of the Govt./Aided/Self-financing colleges duly recognised by any of the Universities in India. The tuition fees should be in parity with the fees approved by the Govt. for Aided/Self-financing colleges under merit list.
2. The student should have secured admission under Merit List during the academic year 2011-12 in the respective course.
3. Family income of the student should be below Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
4. The decision on selection of eligible students and on payment of the scholarship by the Managing Trustee shall be final & binding on all concerned.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Ten students in each discipline, of which one seat will be kept aside for a physically challenged student (duly evidenced by a certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of DMO or an approved Medical Officer of the Bank), will be reimbursed 100% of the tuition fees as per the fee structure for seats allotted in the Government quota in Govt., Aided and Self-financing colleges, subject to a maximum of Rs. 75,000/- in a year up to the normal completion of course. If there are no sufficient applicants in the ‘physically challenged’ category, then cases of less than 40% also will be considered. Any disruption on account of any kind of failure will make the student ineligible for scholarships. If applications are not received from eligible candidates under ‘physically challenged’, it will be utilized under general category.

The S.J. Jindal Foundation scholarships are available to:

i)Financial assistance will be given to pursue degree and/or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. ii) Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship.

However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis.

Scholarship Description: Every year 20000 scholarships will be distributed among the students of minority communities throughout the country. Based on the state-wise population of these communities.The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the scholar. If it is reported by the Head of the Institution at any time that a scholar has by reasons of his/her own act of default failed to make satisfactory progress or has been guilty of misconduct such as resorting to or participating in strikes, irregularity in attendance without the permission of the authorities concerned etc., the authority sanctioning the scholarship may either cancel the scholarship or stop or withhold further payment for such period as it may think fit.

SCHEME OF ‘LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER FAMILIES FOR PURSUING HIGHER STUDIES.

1. OBJECTIVE

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of society so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.

2. SCOPE

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private
college/university,. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes at Graduation level.

3. ELIGIBILITY

Students who have passed Class XII exam or its equivalent in the Academic Year 2010-11 and are interested to pursue higher education in the field of

i) Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, in any discipline, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses.

ii) Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).

For i) above Candidates who have passed Class XII exam or equivalent in the Academic year 2010-11 with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade and annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed ` 60,000/ per annum.

For ii) above The basic educational qualification is relaxed to Class X or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the Academic year 2011 subject to income ceiling of parents/guardians.

4. DURATION

Scholarship shall be provided for the entire course.

5. RATE OF SCHOLARSHIP
10,000/- per annum, ` 1000/ payable monthly for ten months by Cheques to the Beneficiary.

6. CONDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP

(i) Scholarship shall be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 60% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.60,000/ per annum. Students having the lowest family income shall be given preference in the ascending order.

(ii) The scholarship shall be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade, in the previous final examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded. Scholarship shall not be awarded for more than the normal period of time taken to obtain certificate/degree.

(iii) Scholarship shall not be given to more than one student in a family.

(iv) The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university.

(v) Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents such as land held by revenue department in the name of parents.

(vi) If a student violates any other term and condition of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.

(vii) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC.

(viii) LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation will lay down the detailed procedure for processing and sanctioning of scholarships to eligible students.

(ix) The scheme shall be evaluated at regular intervals by the LICGJF.

(x) The regulations can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Board of Trustees of LICGJF

7. RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade in the examination.

Intel® Threading Challenge 2011 is going BIG this year! After three exciting threading competitions, our fourth Threading Challenge is stepping up the excitement with a BIG Grand Prize, a trip to the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in San Francisco (September 13-15, 2011).

Since 2008, the Intel® Threading Challenge has attracted developers of varying experience from around the world. The active participation from the community has made the Threading Challenge not only a great programming competition, but a great way for community members to engage with each other, trade threading tips, and discover new parallel programming resources.

Last year’s format of two competition levels, Master and Apprentice, generated great excitement and opened the Threading Challenge to a new group of participants. So, we are going to continue the competition with a Master level and Apprentice level, each competing for the Grand Prize for their level, as well as individual problem awards. We know you love a great challenge and great prizes, so our Threading Challenge Team is putting together some exciting threading problems for you.

Intel® Threading Challenge 2011 is organized so any level of developer can have the opportunity to participate. Two levels of participation are available. Intel® Manycore Testing Lab – Available as Option for Threading Challenge 2011 Participants
This year competitors will have the optional opportunity to develop and validate their code using the Intel® Manycore Testing Lab. This 40-core, 80-thread development environment has the latest hardware and software available and will be used by this year's judges to test the winning entries in Threading Challenge 2011 Phase 1.

The Intel® Manycore Testing Lab (MTL) will be made available to Threading Challenge 2011 contestants. Use of the MTL will give participants the opportunity to write and test their code on systems exactly configured to what the judges will be using to score submitted entries. No more guessing about if your code will build or how it will run. (There is no requirement to use the MTL for any part of the contest. Scholarship Description: The Fellowship Scheme for Women Scientists for societal programmes is initiative of the Department of Science & Technology. Women scientists
desiring to apply for this scheme are required to develop their own research project/ proposals demonstrating science and technological applications for societal benefits.
Objectives
a. Provide an opportunity for women scientists to re-enter into active research after a break in career, through support for S&T based R&D projects addressing the needs of
people in unorganized urban or rural areas and
b. Provide an opportunity for S&T capacity building of women on issues relevant in societal programmes.
Project Proposals For
a. Research, development and adaptation of technology to improve the quality of life and provide additional opportunities for income generation in rural areas or urban slums.
b. Adaptation & transfer of an innovative technology developed at laboratory level to field.
c. Capacity building of applicant in technology areas relevant to the needs in rural areas.
Nature of Support
Support will include a scholarship grant as per the current norms of WOS-B for a period of two years. Grant for minor equipment, consumables, contingencies, travel and overheads will also be considered if found necessary under the work plan.
Who Can Apply -
Women scientist
1. Who are Indian nationals living in India,
2. Who have break in career after the last degree received for at least three years, Who are currently not employed in permanent position,
3. Whose age is below 60 years at the time of applying.

Scholar@SAP is the vocational training program conducted by SAP Labs India. This initiative aims to create a skilled pool of college graduates, who will be groomed and trained to suit SAP Labs India's talent requirements. Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme (MTTS) to Improve the Level of PhD Aspirants by NBHM

Scholarship Description: During the "Discussion Meeting on Harmonic Analysis" held at I.I.Sc. Bangalore in 1992, a session was devoted to discuss the academic preparation of the students who come for Ph.D. programmes in Mathematics in various Universities and Institutions in the country. In order to improve the level of Ph.D. aspirants it was felt that a training programme should be started (starting at the B.Sc. level itself) which should expose bright young minds to the excitement of doing mathematics. The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) was approached with the proposal and it agreed to fund the programme. The first programme was held in the summer of 1993. This programme has been on since 1993 with funds from NBHM. The programme was highly appreciated by the participants. We receive letters of appreciation from both teachers and the participants. The success of this programme depends mainly on a very small group of mathematicians committed to the improvement of the mathematical scene in our country and as such lacks man-power and infrastructure.

OBJECTIVES:

Weightage will be given to applicants with publications arising from research done as an independent investigator in India. The awardee will be eligible for regular research grants through extramural and other research schemes of various S&T agencies of the Government of India.

ABOUT THE AWARD:

Ø The amount of the Award will be Rs. 10,000/- per month in addition to a regular salary from the host institute.

Ø In addition, the Young Researcher will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 5.00 lakhs per annum for meeting the expenses on consumables, minor equipment, international and domestic travel, manpower and other contingent expenditure to be incurred in connection with the implementation of the research project under the Award.

HOST INSTITUTION:

The Institution where the candidate is working will provide the necessary infrastructure and administrative support for pursuing research under this Award. Applicants currently working abroad may apply, provided they have a confirmed placement in an Institute in India.

DURATION:

The duration of the Award will be initially for three years, extendable further by two years, on a review by the Experts' Committee.

Guidelines For EBC Scholarships in english

1.The students who are with the status of Rejected by College/Field officer/District officer in 2009-10 are not allowed for renewal confirmation. Their applications are allowed for confirmation only after acceptance by the college/field officer/district officer.

2. The students whose applications are not shown / displayed for confirmation indicate that the colleges in which they applied in 2009-10 are not registered with ePASS in this year 2010. Ask your college to register with ePASS.

3. You can change the scholarship type if desired.

4. You can enter or edit the communication district, mandal, village and address.

5. Enter the mobile number for SMS alerts.

6. Obtain the latest income (after 10-10-2010) certificate in the new format prescribed by Revenue department and submit to college.

7. For changes in the bank account details, please contact your college attached field officer (ASWO/ABCWO/ATWO) with bank pass book. Only Andhra Bank, Indian Bank, SBH, and Syndicate Bank accounts are allowed. Students having SBI accounts are not allowed to change the account details.

8. The students with scholarship type College Attached or Department Attached Hostel are informed that the mess charges are credited to college hostel / department hostel bank accounts. The Exam Fee is credited to student bank account in the new online process (after 08-06-2010).

9. The modification or change of data is not possible after clicking on confirm .

10. Upload the scanned image of the passport size colour photograph of width 3.5 cm and height 4.5 cm in .jpg format and the size of file should be below 30 KB.

11. If the student requests for change of college, course he should submit the proof like bonafide from the new college and such applications need to be verified by old college and new college and the concerned welfare officers.

12. If the student request for change of SSC details he has to enclose the attested copy SSC memo. These details will be verified by the concerned.

13. If the student requests for change of bank details he has to enclose the first page of attested bank passbook. Confirmation will be done after verification.

14. The students registered in the colleges which are not registered with ePASS are not allowed to renew the applications. Ask the college managements to register with ePASS.

15. The students in 2009-10 whose course year is equal to course duration (i.e. final year of the course) are not allowed for renewal.

16. •Scan the latest passport size colour photograph of width 3.5 cm. and height 4.5 cm.

•The entire image (of size width 3.5 cm. and height 4.5 cm.) consisting of the photo is required to be scanned and stored in *.jpg format on Local machine.

•Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 30KB.

•If the size of the file is more than 30 KB, then adjust the settings of the Scanner such as the dpi resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of Scanning.

About Tata Jagriti Yatra

Tata Jagriti Yatra is an annual train journey that that takes hundreds of India's highly motivated youth (with some participation of international students) between the ages of 20-25 and experienced professionals with age above 25, on a eighteen day national odyssey, introducing them to unsung heroes of India. The aim is to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship - both social and economic - within India's youth by exposing them to individuals and institutions that are developing unique solutions to India's challenges. Through this national event we have begun to inspire the youth of India to lead and develop institutions both nationally and within their communities.

Vision

The vision of Tata Jagriti Yatra is to inspire young Indians living in the middle of the Indian demographic diamond (Rs 40-Rs 120 per day) to lead development by taking to enterprise. By doing so, they can turn from being job seekers to job creators. Apart from this economic argument, they also discover a purpose that is appropriate for their talents. Only if we create a movement around enterprise led development will India’s youth employment and development issues will be resolved.

Message

The message of the Yatra is expressed through Jagriti Geet – 'Yaaron Chalo, Badalne Ki Rut hai' a message is of a positive change through enterprise. Instead of bemoaning what is wrong with the country, our participants and the Jagriti fraternity takes action by enterprise led development to make India better

Selection Procedure

Our goal is to select youngsters that are potential social and business entrepreneurs and facilitators who can help them maximize the learning on the journey. We have a carefully planned and tested process which we use to evaluate the applications. While aiming for the best candidates, our focus remains the economic middle of India. In addition we aim for equal representation of male –female candidates and an even regional spread within India. We also seek applications from NRI candidates whose global exposure adds to the richness of debate on the journey.

Yatri

All the candidates selected by the selection board of Yatra are "Yatris". The success of the Yatra depends largely on the quality of the Yatris.
It is an exciting voyage which requires Yatris to

Be resilient as well as open-minded
Learn not just from the role models but from fellow Yatris
Work in teams to study specific role models and present their learnings to the rest
Cooperate with the facilitators and organisers in ensuring a safe and successful Yatra

We have two kinds of Yatris - Participants and Facilitators.

Participant

They are young candidates in the age group of 20-25 who want to be the change they want to see around them.

Facilitator

The Facilitators are experienced professionals who are keen to join the movement for enterprise led development. They may be entrepreneurs, teachers or mid-career employees seeking to switch to enterprise.
The Facilitator manages a critical dual role of a coordinator and mentor of Yatris. The responsibilities of a Facilitator can be summed up as:

A Facilitator is a bridge between the participants and the organizing team
A Facilitator manages his/her group throughout the journey
Helps them form a cohesive group of learning
Initiates discussions amongst his group of particpants
Shares knowledge and guides interactions in the group
Helps the participant make most of the Yatra by managing individual learnings as well as collaborative learnings through rich informal interactions between the participants of the Yatra

While we do not expect Yatris to turn into entrepreneurs on day 19, there is a great moral responsibility on the Yatris to assimilate the experience of the Yatra and translate it into positive actions when they return to their lives.

Selection Criteria

The application form consists of a series of essay questions designed to ascertain the candidate’s ability to think outside the box, his/her understanding of the challenges that face India and the commitment to solve them through enterprise. It is a subjective evaluation of the raw entrepreneurial potential within a candidate by a selection panel of 20 experts. The Facilitators are further judged on their professional experience and ability to coordinate and manage youth activities.

Eligibility

Yatris: Bright youngsters between the ages of 20 to 25, who have demonstrated entrepreneurial abilities and can communicate well in either Hindi or English.Facilitators: Professionals above 25 years of age who have demonstrated expertise in a thematic area of the Yatra, ability to work with youth, good communications and language skills.

Scholarship will be given to upcoming cadet, sub-junior and junior players up to the age of 19 years.

DURATION OF THE SCHOLARHSIP

The duration of sports scholarship shall be for a period of 3 years. After the completion of one year duration period of sports scholarship, the performance of the players will be reviewed based on his performance / achievements in the State level / National level and All India Ranking tournaments, for junior / sub-juniors. Based on the same, sports scholarship will be extended for the second year. The extension for the third ear will be based on the performance in the 2nd year of sports scholarship.

RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme 2011

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest in an awareness about the Indian baking sector and RBI. Under the Scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 Young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and award scholarship. Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as in all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.7500/- per month during the duration of the project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awardees shall have no right/claim for an appointment in the RBI. Any candidate who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme in any of the previous years are not eligible to apply again.

All students, between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized university in India, are eligible to take the competitive examination. There is no application fee. The selection test will be held on January 9, 2011 at various centres across India. The results of the selection test are likely to be announced in the middle of March, 2011. Krishnadevaraya Aid for Poor and Under Privileged

The merit scholarships provided by "Krishnadevaraya Aid for Poor and Underprivileged" are given only to VERY POOR students with 80% marks in academic studies from Class 10 onwards. These students have to fulfill the following requirements for getting scholarships :

Reference letter from any reputed or well known person in their village, about the caste, economic status of the student's family.
A passport size photo along with copies of all qualification certificates.
Fees receipt from their college / institution for the running year.
One of the parents should accompany the student.

Students who are financially sound enough to support themselves for their studies are requested not to apply for scholarships. This trust is established to support students with marks above 80% who come from VERY POOR families requiring financial help. Also please understand that we are right now not in a position to fund complete fee of their studies. Depending on eligibility, scholarship amounts are fixed per year.
