I won't bore you with endless commentary about the impressive editing that was clearly focused on asses. Survivor Girls Screencaps Are Back! Survivor 20: Heroes vs. Villains

Survivor 20: Heroes vs. Villains premiered on CBS this evening and unless you've been under a rock you know it's a veritable all-star flesh-fest of hyper competitive nearly nude hotties like Stephenie LaGrossa, Danielle DiLorenzo, Parvati Shallow, Courtney Yates, Candice Woodcock, and Amanda Kimmel.

There are some other chicks and some cool dudes playing the game this season and while everyone is important in the scheme of things, this is all about every irrelevance: the hard-bodies, bikinis, ass-cheeks and boob slips, right?

These are just some teasers for the Episode 1 Screencap Gallery that I'll get posted this weekend. Subsequent episode galleries will be posted each following weekend for the entire season or until all the eye candy is voted off and it turns into a sausage-fest.

Plymouth Roc - "Trust" Filming in Plymouth

Apparently Michigan is the Hollywood of the Midwest. Production on the indie film Trust (directed by David Schwimmer) began last month in Old Town Plymouth but beyond the inconvenience of local street closures I didn't give it much thought. I had a fleeting interest in checking it out for some star-spotting but never bothered.

So tonight on my way home from work I see the parking lot at Boulder's barricaded and filled with trucks, trailers, generators, security guards, and all kinds of crazy stuff. Turns out Boulder's has been temporarily renamed Plymouth Roc and Schwimmer & company are on location filming interior bar scenes.

Since it's sort of big event in our sleepy little Mayberry-esque community, I had to step out into the rain a take a couple of memento shots.

Pretty cool, huh? Small town goes big time.

Urban Dictionary Editors = Friggin' iDiot iSheep Douche-bags

Clearly I stuck a nerve with a handful of douche-bag Apple juice-drinking iSheep Urban Dictionary "editors". It only took 18 minutes for a very well written definition (with etymology) to get rejected.

"Thanks for your definition of iScrimination!

Editors reviewed your entry and have decided to not publish it."

They left out "because we're a bunch of douche-bags". What's the matter? Can't handle the truth? How can they edit submissions with their heads so far up Steve Jobs' ass? Do all those ACC files give them superhuman douche-bag breathing powers?

But there's a lesson to be learned: don't mess with iSheep. I guess. Friggin' iDiots

iScrimination Submitted to Urban Dictionary

Growing increasingly disturbed by what I strongly believe should be an illegal distribution practice, I coined a new word and submitted it to the Urban Dictionary on this day of thanks-giving. I'm thankful for free speech even though there's apparently no room for freedom or individual choices when it comes to honestly acquiring newly released music without drinking the Apple juice.

So, for free-thinkers everywhere, I give you...

iScrimination:

A willful act of elitist discrimination against free-thinking individuals that do not own iPods or buy digital music from the iTunes store that is perpetrated when artists and record labels offer exclusive distribution rights to Apple and its subsidiaries prior to releasing the same content through all other non-Apple distributors.

Digital payola.

Etymology:
Since this practice is indeed a form of consumer discrimination, the word is derived from the intransitive verb "discriminate", meaning to treat one person or group worse than others because of prejudice or preference. By eliminating the "D", Apple's ubiquitous lower-case "i" became the first letter unequivocally linking the word to the government endorsed Apple monopoly.

Example:
I could buy new "Glee" tracks the day after the episode is broadcast if it weren't for Columbia Records' iScrimination.

Freddie Mercury: We Miss You More Than Ever

It's been eighteen years since his death and while Freddie Mercury lives in the hearts and souls of everyone touched by his music, it's still a sad day.

Every November I try to write a fitting tribute to my rock & roll hero and every year the words escape me, carried away by the torrent of emotion I feel when I reflect on my youth and realize the impact Freddie Mercury and Queen had on my life and the lessons I learned.

Lessons about life, love, despair, happiness, fantasy, reality, hope, failure and victory.

I can't find the words but it's a day of remembrance and reflection and one worthy of acknowledgment. For many in my generation it was our "day the music died".

Please take a moment to read the touching eulogy Brian May wrote eighteen years ago on that cold November day...

FREDDIE MERCURY: A MAGICAL FREE SPIRIT

IT SEEMS inconceivable that we now have to do without Freddie; this proud, vibrant, irreverent and passionately creative man surely can't have been extinguished in the prime of his life? Freddie was denied the privilege of growing old, but in 44 years he packed in enough living for a dozen lifetimes.

A child of strict upbringing, he was, when I met him some 25 years ago, an uncertain youth stepping into an unfamiliar world outside, but his head was full of great dreams and the certainty that they could be achieved. At the age of 20 he already lived the dreams, and behaved with a gentle grandeur that demanded respect. He looked and acted like a million dollars, though he had scarcely the bus far home on his person. (That never changed - later when his millions were safely in the bank, someone else always carried the purse!) Perhaps in changing his name just prior to our first record release, he decided to leave the fragile Frederick Bulsara at home under parental care, and become the god Freddie Mercury.

Freddie was a very uncommon creature in our time - a free spirit. He knew what he wanted to be and set about it with complete dedication. His loves were music and life; life was for living and enjoying to the full, and when life disappointed and hurt him, he poured all the more passion into perfecting his music, weaving his spells. He never hid in modesty. He gave himself credit for his own achievements and gave credit generously to the achievements of those around him. Freddie never did anything by halves; he had no time for anything but the best.

His spirit will live on as long as musicians strive to pour excitement, drama and mystery into their work.

I was fortunate to share in many moments of creation with Freddie, and I still hear his voice whenever a mediocre compromise is threatened "No Darling, we don't compromise". His songs say it all: The March Of The Black Queen, Lily Of The Valley, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, The Miracle, Play The Game and many others - all have the finest shades of emotion among the bold strokes. Freddie never wanted to discuss his lyrics; "They should speak for themselves" was his curt dismissal.

But the imagination in those lyrics combined with a magical sense of melody, and a deft knack of sliding between keys at the drop of a hat, made him one of the truly original songwriters of our time. Person, writer and finally performer. This is where the superlatives run out. For, on a stage in front of 200 people or 200,000, he was, of course, matchless. Somehow by channeling his inner self through the heroic, yet intensely human figure that he had created, he reached out to every heart, every boy who ever struggled to be a man, every woman who wanted a man like this. He had the touch of genius which spurred us all to greatness. Freddie, you did it: you were the best: you changed the world.

ABC, Adam Lambert Scoff at FCC With Obscene AMA Performance

Where's the outrage? Janet Jackson's nipple and Howard Stern are obscene yet ABC broadcasts a disturbing performance by alleged pop star Adam Lambert in which he simulates face-fucking a male dancer while some unknown lyric is muted. You couldn't pay me to listen to this kid's "music" but censoring the audio while broadcasting the "artist" grabbing a dancer's head, holding it tight against his groin and violently thrusting his pelvis into the guy's face is more than a little absurd.

I registered a complaint with the FCC and I strongly suggest that everyone else who's offended by our government agencies' selective persecution prosecution of artists do so as well. You can file your complaint with the FCC on-line in about five minutes at the FCC Web site. You'll get an acknowledgment and complaint number similar to the one below:

Those interested in pornography can find plenty of it on-line, we don't need to see it on an international network TV broadcast.
