Ashes to ashes and dust to dust:. The desert will reclaim parts of Scottsdale, and, perhaps maybe some real citizens will–once again–emerge from the rat infested environs, littered with a bizarre ensemble of left-over tweekers, hip gangster wannabe douchebags and bagettes; $30 millionaire club hounds; bleach blond gold digging scumettes; et al; ad nauseum; ad infinitum; ad absurdum.

Hope they all scramble back to Bumfrack Iowa, or wherever.

Perhaps something real will eventually rise again, from the tattered ashes of a broke-ass Scottsdale. You never know.

The fat ’90s-early 2000s have given way to reality. A cold slap in the face has descended on the denigrated denizens: you spit into the wind often enough, and a big looch is going to, sooner or later, thwap you in the eye but good!

Maybe some of the high-minded skanks will come down to reality and put down the botox and forgo a fake rack for more modest accoutrements.

Joe, are you destined to become the new owner of Scottsdale Sucks? I’m obviously bored with it now that the hell of living in Scottsdale is a distant memory!

Will there be anyone left other than white trash, tweekers, two-strikers fleeing from California, and illegals!

Is Scottsdale the new “909″? Wait a minute, the 909 has always been a step above the 480. Never mind.

As if it’s not funny enough to see purveyors of the $30k millionaire lifestyle bailing out, what’s even funnier is how much sales tax revenue the slimy corrupt City of Scottsdale stands to lose! Word came this week that they’re going to lay off hundreds of teachers due to lack of funds.

Of course, there are other ways for them to save money. Since there seems to be 1 cop for every 10 Scottsdale residents, you’d think they’d lay off some cops. 

Hmm, with all those cops, it should be the safest small city in America. Not so. Could it be due to the fact that those cops are hired to be revenue generators and not crime preventers? Ya think? 

What they don’t see coming is the fact that since everyone in Scottsdale is so completely broke and busted out, they’re not going out drinking anymore. No endless drinking binges means less easy DUI revenue for Scottsdale. Of course, they’ll continue to stretch the slightest-degree laws as far as they can and continue arresting people for having one beer or rinsing with Listerine before driving, but come on, the clubbing and partying and bottle service were a by-product of the housing bubble. Now that it’s burst, the nightlife has burst with it.

Oh well. Too bad. I’m just happy to see Scottsdale unable to afford even the signature Scottsdale car, the pre-owned, 5-year-lease, 3-series BMW!

I think it’s time for Scottsdale to man up, swallow their pride, and finally admit that they were nothing but a lower-middle-class suburb of Phoenix all along. Always has been, always will be! Except for the fact that as time goes on, Scottsdale continues to plunge down toward the lower-class end of the spectrum.

The Forbes list officially calls the area Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale. Topping the list at #1 is scum-town Las Vegas, Nevada. Although having lived in both places, I can say with confidence that Scottsdale has far more shysters and con men than Las Vegas ever will!

After leaving Arizona and moving to a state where both a superior court judge and the state legislature banned photo radar to different degrees, I still could not understand why not only Scottsdale residents tolerated the Commie Cameras, but the entire state as well as they spread like roaches.

Well, someone has finally begun to do something about it. And the cameras are coming down.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted. As I’ve previously mentioned, I’m over Scottsdale having escaped there two years ago this month. When you’re not surrounded by rude, obnoxious, fake, disgusting, petty Scottsdale people all day long, you just lose the motivation to rail against it online.

Having said that…

The most amusing story I’ve seen recently is the announcement that the W Hotel in Scottsdale has filed for bankruptcy. Well, what the hell did they expect? We all know that nobody in Scottsdale can afford to party there (not anymore, now that the housing ATM is over). And we all know that nobody who can afford to stay in a W with their overpriced rooms actually vacations in Scottsdale. They go to Vegas, SoCal, Hawaii, etc.  

Here in SoCal, we’ve been up to the usual. Lots of fun times with lots of friends – more than we ever had in Arizona – and a lot of fun travel mixed in too. We enjoyed a great trip to the Caribbean with friends, and then we’re off to Texas later this week to visit friends there. And keeping busy with work… just signed a new book deal

Here are some comments that caught my attention when I was reading them just now:

I live happily in Florida and have an arrogant Aunt from Chicago that moved there 20 years ago, that I have to call once a year for Christmas….

My god! Every year, I call just to say “Merry Christmas” and every year all she/they do, is give me an unsolicited Real Estate pitch, telling me how GREAAAAAAT, beautiful, warmer & Better than Florida, Snobsdale is. And how they are not unaffected by the WORLD recession they are. Just Perfect, there… Meanwhile all her Grown ARROGANT Children are losing their Homes, can’t find a job…can’t keep a wife. 

Hehe … that cracked me up because we also have an aunt/uncle in Scottsdale and every time we talk to them, we hear the EXACT same thing! How “wonderful” it is and how “terrible” it is where we live – from people who’ve never even lived here! As I’ve pointed out before, Scottsdale is the only place where people are constantly justifying to you, out loud, why they live there. Of course, we all know that if they were actually happy, they wouldn’t have to constantly justify things and overcompensate for their insecurities. But, that’s Scottsdale – a bunch of miserable people who secretly wish they could live somewhere else but want you to believe how “prosperous” and “affluent” they are.

So sad but so true, Frank. I have lived in SoCal for almost 20 years and it is well-known here that AZ is a police state and is to be avoided. You can drive with the flow of traffic here in San Diego at 80 mph and not even get a second look from a cop, whereas in AZ you better smile real perty for the camera, boy. We avoid AZ if at all possible.

Radar cameras just add to the already creepy police-state vibe in AZ. It’s almost like you are in a weird movie. When you look at a place like Scottsdale, which gives off a serious vibe of all flash no substance, you really start to get weirded out.

I guess the world does need places like this for people who want to play big fish in a very tiny pond. It’s funny to watch the playa/high society vibe out in full force in Scottsdale. I get a good chuckle out of that, actually. Everyone knows all the real playas with big game in the southwest region reside in coastal SoCal. Not that SoCal is without its fronters – plenty of em, in fact – but it’s also where the real game is being played and it’s where you are at if you got game and you live in the southwest.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. While there are a few good, decent people living in Scottsdale – the ones who know and accept that it’s a place to live temporarily for work at best, and a refuge for cheap living and a sedentary lifestyle at worst – the vast majority are indeed “people who want to play big fish in a very tiny pond.” It’s a very, very weird place. Even here in SoCal, a surprising number of people are aware of “that Scottsdale thing” and that it’s a bizarre, Twilight Zone-like place full of weirdos and wannabes who are completely wasting their lives trying to live in a fantasy world.

I have a question for everyone: Are people actually still drinking the Scottsdale kool-aid? Even the most hardened Scottsdale phonies seemed to cave in after the real estate credit collapse and admit that there was never any wealth in Scottsdale. Just about all of our friends there have now moved away, or are in the process of moving. 

Do the losers in Scottsdale actually still believe their own bullshit? Even now?

Sure enough, here’s what I was greeted with:

- Shooting outside Myst nightclub
- Armed bank robbery
- Carjacking

Yep, nice “upscale, affluent” town you have there, Scottsdale.

Here’s the thing: Scottsdale is ghetto. You can see it by the people, by the way they live, by the way they act. The problem, however, is many people were fooled into the “affluent” myth because throughout much of this decade, the ghetto scum was disguised with leased BMWs and Mercedes they “bought” with their free housing ATM HELOC money.

Now that the housing Ponzi scheme has collapsed, the gig is up. The repo man has come to take away the luxury cars and the Scottsdale “elite” are back to living on their $39,150 median income (nothing wrong with that, by the way, as long as you’re not claiming to be “rich”). And so the truth comes out.

Without the ability to fleece an uneducated populace via the real estate industry, Scottsdale’s “elite” turn to robbing banks, stealing cars, and firing off gunshots in anger and frustration. (Maybe the guy was angry that E4 nightclub has gone out of business and now he’s stuck at Myst?)

Welcome to the New Scottsdale. It’s only going to get worse as Scottsdale’s joke of an economy continues to fall apart.

In the comments beneath each article where the now-typical Arizona residents saying “If it saves one life it’s not worth it.” “If you don’t want tickets then don’t speed.” “Anyone who drinks and drives should get life in prison.”  

Blah blah blah.

What these idiots don’t realize – aside from the fact that this is America and not Iraq – is how corrupt the agencies behind these “safety” initiatives really are. Speed cameras have nothing to do with safety – they’re about revenue generation. Same goes for red-light cameras. That’s why the City of Scottsdale absolutely refuses to add one second to the duration of the yellow light. Did you know that New Jersey did this and dramatically reduced the instance of red light crashes as a result? The sick part is that Scottsdale is intentionally increasing the instances of red light running and red light crashes by keeping the yellow light artificially short!

The same goes for DUI. Arizona is the only state in the Union with “slightest degree” laws, meaning you can theoretically be arrested for rinsing with Listerine or taking a spoonful of cough syrup before getting into the car. That may be rare, but if you read the Arizona Revised Statutes, you will be arrested for DWI at .05, then DUI at .08. Which is a joke to differentiate the two because they carry the same fines and sentences.

Anyone who believes DUI laws have anything to do with “safety” is an idiot. Every single scientific and medical study done proves that driving does not become unsafe until approximately .14. In fact, using cell phones while driving has been documented to kill more people every year than drunken driving! But, there are no fanatical groups like MADD going after cell phones and lobbying our money-grubbing politicians to ban them, so instead they choose drinking. 

I cannot believe how bad the situation in Arizona has become. It’s like living in one big jail. Big Brother is everywhere. Police care little about patrolling and safety since they’re ordered to go out and write tickets and make questionable DUI arrests.

If you care one bit about yourself, your loved ones, and about the principles of freedom, get the hell out of Arizona. It’s not getting better – it’s only going to get worse as tax revenues continue to fall and the crooked politicians look for more and more ways to steal your money from you. While ruining your life in the process for good measure, as is the case with DUI.

First we have the phony arrogant residents who went insane on credit this decade and now are all bankrupt, losing their McMansions to foreclosure, losing the Escalade and BMW to the repo man, etc. All these clowns are no longer going out to restaurants, bars, shopping, or buying/leasing cars. That’s a LOT of tax revenue to simply disappear. And let’s not forget the huge percentage of Scottsdale’s “rich” and “elite” who can’t afford their property taxes, let alone their mortgages.  

Then we have the horribly corrupt police department which constantly makes illegal DUI stops and bogus DUI arrests to generate revenue. And let’s not forget the commie cameras all over the place to make easy money.

Then we have the corrupt City Hall and State that slaps huge hotel, car rental, and other taxes all over anyone and everyone who visits either for business or on vacation.

Oh and let’s not forget the petty, childish, immature neighborhood groups who oppose any and all development. Guess what: Anti-development insanity = economic failure.

Finally, a big thank you to the Scottsdale HOAs which operate like Hitler’s Gestapo, causing thousands upon thousands of people to choose to never live in an HOA neighborhood, which just about rules out any of the cleaner, safer neighborhoods in Scottsdale.

Very well done, Scottsdale, You got what you deserved!

And now the car dealers are dropping like flies.  

Before Steve or some other troll chimes in that this is due to a nationwide slowdown and not just Scottsdale, it’s interesting to note that 2 of the 4 dealers didn’t actually close. They simply bailed out of Faketown and moved to other parts of the Valley.

Phoenix Motor Company, one of the largest Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the US, abandoned their Scottsdale plans years ago and opened their new flagship store in north Glendale, which not coincidentally is the wealthiest zip code in Arizona.

Sorry Scottsdale, but your days are numbered. Time for more blighted neighborhoods, more crime, more dirtbags taking over, and even more misery and nastiness from the locals. 

And LOTS more speed cameras now that the corrupt city council has openly stated that due to the crash in sales taxes and property taxes, they need new and creative ways to raise revenue.

Hey Scottsdale, f*ck you. You deserve it.
