Megan has been making gorgeous charms for your books, altered art and more.
The charms come in a nice varitey of themes.
I love these charms and have attached them to cards mostly. but they could be attached to anything. We have a great assortment of Megan's scraps in our store.
Also, we have the local schools, and Oregon Beavers and Ducks!

MONSTERS! - by Designs by Reminisce

What can I say? I am in love with these scary little things hiding in the closet! I only hope they are as cuddly as Sully!

Monsters remind me of my busy little 5 (almost 6) year old son Ben.
He is full of adventure and fun. I think this line is a perfect addition to his book and I can't wait to get started using it up! You can find the whole collection on the Scrap-a-Latte website, along with the other new things we have in stock.

We also have some really great new Flocked Papers by My Mind's Eye (the Lush Line). I am anxious to get all of the "To Dos " checked off my list so I can start playing with all of the new stuff. I think I will pack up a bunch of it and take it with me this weekend to Scrapaganza!

The Wonder of a TearBear

This is a TearBear. He is made using ultra thick mulberry paper and these adorable bear templates by The Beary Scrap. We will soon have all the supplies in the store for you to create your very own TearBears!

We had so much fun experimenting with these. And I've been told that you can make the cutest outfits with your Cricut and a paper dolls cartridge! I can't wait to try that!

So far this is my very favorite bear. I've tried him in a few colors, using inks, chalks, etc. The lighter colors seem to really make it look Fuzzier, and more cuddly. Chalks work better for me than inks.

We will soon be teaching classes in our shop! Check our website calendar for updates!
Once I have finished my big To-Do list, I'll focus more on my classes and offer some amazingly fun ideas for you!

So, I haven't blogged in a long time. And when I came to take a look at my blog I wasn't happy. So, I am giving it a new look. I hope that it won't take long to put it together. I am starting from scratch and going to have a fresh new more Personal look here. I found a few templates over at http://www.btemplates.com/ that I have fallen in love with. So I may be testing a few here and there to see what I like best.

Altered Boxes

Our workshop on Saturday was awesome! We altered a variety of items! Boxes, Trays and even an Album.. Everyone was so happy with their project and was ready to go home and start another! Here are some samples of what we did:

This picnic tray was made from Bare Elements Ian Tray, by Dot Hays. Painted, and mod podged. It turned out to be a favorite!

Using a plain tall shipping box, Dot Hays used an assortment of 4th of July papers to finish this cute planter! She lined it with a plastic bag then planted the flowers right in it!

Jennifer Hasler created this adorable Wall Album of her nephew, using a Kaiser craft Hanging wall album and K & Co. Papers and embellishments.

These two beautiful boxes were ordinary shoe boxes. Mary Hines chose a playful Spring theme, while Shirley Hankins decided she prefered the Graphic 45 Fashinista Papers.

Both turned out beautiful!

Snow?

The weatherman predicted snow, and I am so thankful we haven't seen much to speak of. I am ready for spring! Flowers, bright colors, Sunshine! I am looking forward to having windows and doors open for spring cleaning and all of the dust removed from under the sofa.

Perfect timing to introduce SMOOCH.. Colorbox's newest addition. These bright and fun inks come in little nail polish bottles and are just perfect for adding those bright accents to any project. I hope to start making samples with these soon. We have also added some new stamps from Inkadinkado And Impression Obsession.

We are anxiously awaiting the new Worldwin Papers. They've discontinued many of the colors in the Colormates Line. But they have replaced them with some great new colors. Also, we'll be carrying the lighter weight Petalics, Metalics, and some really awesome Premium Textured Cardstock called Ruche.

I am working hard to bring more classes and workshops for you. If you would like us to bring in something in particular, let us know. Your opinion is important to us.

We also have a new shopping cart coming soon. I hope you'll be able to find what you are looking for much easier at that time.

Kids Club Crop is filling. We just have a couple seats left. We are hoping to fill those seats by the end of the week so we will know how many to prepare for. If you have a child that is interested ni scrapbooking and is 8 or older, now is the time to get in on a great club for them. We plan to meet monthly.

I am hoping to see entries into our Scrapbooker of the month contest pretty soon. I am excited about giving away prizes!

Home from CHA!

CHA was amazing this year! Well, it was my first year, but amazing none the less.
I loved visiting all of the vendors, and seeing all the new products. So much to see.. so little time!

Paris Hilton, Vanna White, and Jane Seymore were walking the floor of the convention center, but, we didn't see any of them. We had our hearts set on seeing real celebrities like Tim Holtz, Christine Aldolf, and Darth Vador!

We got pictures with the storm troupers, Darth Vador and a very short Chewbacca from Star Wars, among many other famous people!

Stacy went from booth to booth making her opinions known to each and every vendor. Including Stampington, because as she so eliquantly stated "THEIR BOOTH SUCKED". She was so vocal that the CEO came out and shook her hand and asked for advice! She's got guts.. thats all I have to say! Their publications are so amazing, we expected more from their booth. Maybe next year..

The hit vendor for us this year was Little Yellow Bicycle! We picked up their entire new offering! The boy and girl Sarfari Line, shipping in February, Zinnia Collection, shipping April, and the Travel line debuting in June! Their booth was awesome and every new product was amazing!

We ordered new stamp designs from Inkadinkado, Magenta, Impression Obsession, and a new line Stampotique Designs, that I am sure will be a big hit among the Tim Burton style enthusiasts.

CHA Update

I am so excited about a couple of new releases... First, Little Yellow Bicycle has come out with 4 new lines, and a few extras... A boy, girl, travel and Zinnia. we will be bringing all of them in as they become available. Each collection has a such great elements, Papers, glitter papers, clear stamp set, rubons, stickers, diecut papers, glitter overlay frames, ribbon.. I just can't tell you how much each collection has! So far this is my favorite. I will be posting some photos in my Gallery for you later. There is just so much to see!

7Gypsies has come out with a beautiful Market collection. We won't be bringing in everything from this new line, but we've decided on a few items. Very pretty papers.

We have also seen My Mind's Eye, and loved their newest products.

I am so anxious to get to Maya Road, and some of the other companies to see their new releases! I hope you like these so far. I am off to lunch now before the next stop!

Stacy and I are down here in Not Sunny California! The Annaheim Convention Center is huge!
I am so excited to see everything. So far we've attended Craft Mania, and saw presentations by
so many exciting companies, Sandy Lion, Reminisce, My Mind's Eye, MAMBI, SRM, McGill... Its overwhelming at times.

Tomorrow we will be attending a class, and attending an event by Creative Imaginations. I tell ya, Stacy has connections!

I haven't heard much from everyone about what products they would like to see in the store.
I know that we'll be looking at hundreds of new products. So speak up! I'd like to know what my customers want!

It started raining today. I hope we get some sun while we're here.

2008 has closed and we are finishing up with the year end details. Like taxes, and inventory, the two most dreaded jobs in this business.
Along with the end of a year comes new beginnings too. 2008 was a slow exhausting year for many of us. Gas prices soared, unemployment rose, which left many of us anxious for a new year to finally begin.

This year, for the first time, our shop is attending CHA! For those of you that don't know what CHA is.. well, here's a little info:

-The CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show is the world’s largest professional craft and hobby show.
-Over 900 U.S. & International exhibitors representing over 60 countries
-Over 325,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space
-Over 16,000 attendees and more than 7,000 buyers anticipated
-Hundreds of products launched

I am so excited to return with a whole new product lineup for the year! Along with new product comes more classes and workshops, so keep watching our calendar for the events updates!

Snow and More Snow!

With the record snowfall in more than 40 years, I think we've all experienced a little cabin fever this Christmas break. It was so amazing to see the snow rise a little more every day. This is the view from our front Porch. With the neighbor's Christmas lights on, and the bright blue light reflecting from the snow, it looked like a painting from Thomas Kinkade! Our kids found a great hill for snowboarding, so the first few days were awesome. But, soon they were as ready as I am for the snow to melt and for it to be like Oregon again. We had a few days that we had to close, due to the ice in the parking lot! It's a relief to be back at work again. We're all anxious to get back to being creative and finishing projects, and SCRAPBOOKING. I hope you'll come join us for some fun all-day scrapbooking.

New Things at the Store

Exciting things have been happening around the store! We added new Core'dinations Paper to our Cardstock line. These papers are awesome!

What is it?
A sandable cardstock that has a "core'dinating" core color instead of a white core.
Heavy weight, 80 lb., premium, acid and lignin free.
Sand, tear or antique it to reveal the beautiful core colors and add your own creative touch.
Canvas texture on one side and smooth on the other.
Use these in the Cuttlebug for an awesome look! Just emboss and sand a little.

Here is a beautiful sample of what you can do. I found this on Splitcoast Stampers posted by Lavandula. As you can see, she just embossed her core'dinations paper and then sanded a little to expose the core. I am sure this will be a great hit! I can't wait to start using it on my own cards and scrapbooking!

These are sold by the sheet and also in paper packs.

I am sure we will be posting a class on this soon!

Scrap-a-Latte Whats News

For all of you that are regular customers and croppers at our shop, you may have heard that Stacy is looking for a buyer for her store. She has a nice little shop in Lincoln City that is ideally located, and completely full. She has an add on Craigs List. Its a great shop, that is proven profitable. I hope she finds the perfect buyer!

In other news.... our store is starting to fill up and our classes seem to be taking off!
Right now on the schedule we have 2 Classes by Valonda Leichty, Intro to Alcohol Inks, and Ranger Distress products. You can find a full calendar on our website. Just look under "Calendar of Events".

We are moving our little shopping area to an ebay store.. it just seems to be less complicated. And easier to maintain. Let us know what you think!

The Long awaited Swiss Dots Embossing folders are finally on our way to the store. If you have a Cuttlebug, and you've been waiting for this, don't put it off any longer!

Knitting and Crochet..

My first real hobby was crochet. I almost 30 years ago while helping to take care of my Grandmother-in-Law. She was a crocheter and was in awe of the size 12 steel crochet hook and thread she used to create beautiful rose doilies. Since then I've made baby blankets, afghans, doilies, table cloths, and so many more projects. I love yarn and fibers! Years ago I found a pattern in a magazine that was so beautiful! It was an afghan that looked like a quilt. I made one and started another. But, the pattern disappeared and I have no idea where it went. I have a partially finished project, and I probably can't even get the yarn anymore. But I decided it was a nice enough pattern I would take some pictures and post the unfinished project. I love this afghan! I plan to write up a pattern here soon. Anyway, this is what it looks like:
