Chipboard Mini Albums - March Release!

Well, it seems I never posted this month's chipboard mini album kit - what's up with that?! Geez - that's just insane!

So, on that note, I give you this month's mini album kit: Family Traditions.

Notice anything a bit different about this month's album? There are no front or back covers! Every single page is a scrapped page. It's meant to stand on a shelf or table as a display item, and it looks fabulous as such! And the best thing is that this makes it so easy to change the photo that's on display: all you have to do is flip the page over to the other side! How awesome is that?!

And this mini album features a beautiful line of slightly textured papers from Carta Bella called - of all things - Traditions. The patterns are so diverse and all work so well together, and the colors will blend with any color scheme.

Chipboard Mini Albums: An Alternative to Project Life

Right now a lot of scrappers are making the "Project Life" albums for their 2013 scrapping. But if you'd like to try something different - something simpler and less intense - try our 2013 mini album release. My alternative to Project Life is our 'My Everyday Life 2013' album kit. It's made for scrapping your photos as you take them throughout the year, using the bold, bright, beautiful Seen & Noted line by Pebbles.

You'll have the entire album completed in a few hours, ready to add your photos as you take them. That means you won't need to do any scrapping each month other than adding your photos! There's a section for each month of the year, with matching textured cardstock used for the monthly page dividers. I used acrylic page protectors to really simplify things, as well as a booklet of journaling prompts so that you can just tear out a prompt, record your thoughts, and slip the card into the perfectly sized pockets!

There are 3 chipboard pages in this mini album, 12 cardstock monthly dividers/pages to hold photos and stickers, and 12 page protectors.

This album also has a paper pocket to hold extra photos and "stuff" that might be too large to fit into the page protectors. And with TWO sets of matching stickers and some washi tape stickers, you won't run out of embellishments until the last page! This Pebbles collection has such gorgeous colors: two shades of blues, green, an orangey-red, yellow, and two greys; they'll wow you!

Chipboard Mini Albums - Guest Designer Amy Sheffer Returns for a Visit!

As you may know if you follow the studio blog, we're fortunate enough to have guest designers creating with our kits each month, putting their individual "stamp" on their creations. Well, this month we're thrilled to have the fabulous Amy Sheffer of Pickled Paper Designs back for a second visit!

As I said in an earlier blog post about her, Amy is a cardmaker extraordinaire, whose work I adore and try my hardest to replicate. I've been popping in on Amy's blog to check out her handiwork for longer than I can remember. I mean, just check out this gorgeous card she made:

Amy's got such a versatile style. Her layouts are always perfectly balanced, meticulously detailed, and use just the right mix of colors. She's just got the perfect eye for things, and a knack for creating mini works of art. You can usually spot the use of a few ornate dies, which she expertly works into the focal point. And she always knows the perfect edge punch, border strip, or piece of trim to use to make her statement. (For instance, don't you think the satin ribbon around the gingerbread man's neck is spot-on perfect?!)

As you can tell, I just can't say enough about Amy's work!! So when Amy volunteered to work some magic with 'The Good Life' kit, you know I was excited! She said that she loves mini albums, and you can tell from the way her album turned out! Here's just a peek at her finished album:

Of course, I can't stop there. How about this cool tri-fold insert she added? Clever and cute!

Amy also split a photo across both halves of the album, which I really like too.

Did anyone get to this month's Winter Craft & Hobby Association's show (CHA)? It's where the new product lines are debuted twice annually, and it has been a dream of mine to attend. One of these years, I will be there to select all my upcoming paper lines in person, ahead of the croud! (Or with the croud, as the case may be!)

I thought I'd show you some of the new paper collections from Simple Stories that were debuted this past weekend, but everything I want to show you is already on their Facebook page! Chipboard Mini Albums - Made by Guest Designers!

You know that we love having wonderful Guest Designers work with our kits each month, putting their own spin on the kit. We always get such masterpieces - I'm always amazed at how different each person's tastes run.

We've got the very talented Heather Leopard of 'The Spotted Leopard' in the studio with us this month! Heather has worked with the 'My Everyday Life - 2013' album kit, and I love how it turned out! Quite different from mine! Not only did she give it an entirely different look simply by using the backsides of some of the papers, she even ahs a unique functionality built into her rady-to-go album.

Heather's album is all ready to add pictures - she's even set up different sections, each holding a spot open for a particular photo. Some places for photos of the kids; some for her husband, etc. Very organized!

This is my favorite page. Just inside the front cover, Wendy used a bunch of the label maker word stickers to make a word collage on top of the speech bubbles on the patterned paper. So clever, cute, and colorful!! Love it.

I love this pretty page. I didn't use this blue grid side of the page, so it looks new and different to me! And I love the cluster of embellies in the bottom right corner. Heather's pics are going to look great here, aren't they?!

Chipboard Mini Albums - New Release for January 2013!

It's here! Our first release of the new year is ready over in the studio shop! 'The Good Life' is just what its name implies: a sweet little book for documenting and recording the good life you lead. Saturdays spent sitting around with a good book; trips you take with your family; milestones and achievements; and of course those things you hold dearest.

This little album is just perfect for use as a gratitude album. It's got lots of pockets and enclosures to hold photos and journaling tags. You can record your grateful moments as they come along, then tuck them into all the nooks and crannies in this cute album.
