Log Your Memory - Guest Writer Call

Log Your Memory is currently seeking scrapbookers with a passion for sharing their everyday real life stories who would be interested in serving as Guest Writers on our blog during the coming months.

Potential Guest Writers include…
• Scrapbookers of all backgrounds and ability levels with a personal experience, story, hurdle or project to share related to memorykeeping;
• Experienced scrappers who can offer everyday scrapbooking tips or tutorial ideas of interest to our readers;
• Product designers willing to share behind-the-scenes glimpses into the business side of scrapbooking;
• Others with a passion for capturing everyday real life interested in starting a conversation about related topics.

Chosen Guest Writers will need to provide at least 2-3 images (photographs, layouts, infographics, etc.) along with an article of 500-750 words. In exchange for sharing their time & talents with us, contributors will receive a special discount coupon code and the chance to provide a short bio with links at the end of their piece.

Interested writers may email kristin@logyourmemory.com with a short introduction, a description of the proposed article and an indication of when it could be ready for publication.

My Creative Scrapbook kit club - May Sketch Contest

My Creative Scrapbook kit club invites you to play along with our May sketch contest on our My Creative Sketches blog. To enter, create a layout inspired by our May sketch using any products that you would like to use. A beautiful prize package will be awarded to the randomly selected challenge winner. This contest is open to everyone.

Layouts must be newly created for this contest and must not be used in any other challenge or contest. Layouts must be your own work. Only one layout per participant, please. All layouts must be uploaded via the link tool located at the end of the May Sketch Contest blog post. Instructions for using the link tool are located in a tab at the top of the blog.

The deadline is June 14, 2012 at midnight EST.

The Color Room - Design Team Call

If you want to create with freedom and passion, while exploring your love of color and pushing the limits of your creative boundries, this is an opportunity you will love.

To apply simply send an email containing 2 Projects based on previous Color Room palettes so we can see how you interpret a palette. 1 of your projects should be based on the sketch.

Please also send us your 2 favourite Projects,(not restricted to TCR palettes),which best display your talents and what you can offer The Color Room as a designer………Projects may be pages (paper or digital), cards, mixed media, or OTP…

Share with us links to any of your online galleries as well as your blog.

Please outline any experience you may have with technique tutorials (this is not essential to the role but will be looked on preferably)

 DecoArt has released eight new Americana trend shades in acrylic craft paint for 2012. There are beautiful soft pastels and also bold and hot neon colours.  The new colours are: Soft Heather, Whispering Turquoise, Zinc, Pebble, Purple Pizzazz, Red Alert, Dragon Fruit, and Margarita. Something for every taste.  

I had the chance to play with some of these new paints in my art journal this weekend.  So, I thought I'd show you!  I am especially in love with the "Whispering Turquoise." I would love to have a chair painted in that shade!  The colours all look great together.  In the samples you see here from my art journal, I did not use any other paints other than these 8 shades, plus a charcoal stick.
