In a new blog post on the PlayStation.Blog, Media Molecule reminded us we have only a limited time to download the free "Sacktue of Liberty" costume being offered in celebration of Independence Day (which is tomorrow, by the way) and tells us about a Sackboy who travels around the world. More importantly, however, they tease future downloadable content to come.

At the end of their post they write "Future LittleBigPlanet DLC?" along with a poster featuring the famous words, "Who Ya Gonna Call?", which always leads to a "Ghostbusters!" So it's being teased, but when will Media Molecule reveal it? We're guessing soon.

CEO of the newly-formed publisher Tecmo Koei, Kenji Matsubara, has expressed his concerns on the PlayStation 3 price point, saying that he "would welcome a price cut for PS3," and has made that request to Sony in past meetings with the firm.

"Whenever I discuss this with Sony reps I always ask them: 'Please cut the price', but I don't have a clear view on Sony's situation," Matsubara told CVG during an interview.

"Yes, from a publisher's point of view we would welcome a price cut for PS3, and we are waiting, definitely," he added.

"It's definitely a way of boosting the PS3 market, but it's Sony's strategy and I don't know their cost structure. Sony introduced cutting-edge technology in the PS3, that's why people in the industry accept that the PS3 cost is so high, but we'd welcome a price cut."

I think everybody's waiting on a price point. A price drop combined with a PlayStation 3 would do everybody some good.

[Thanks Andreas!]

Valve doesn't seem to be as against the PlayStation 3 as was previously thought. Valve's Doug Lombardi spoke at the Left 4 Dead 2 event in London yesterday on the topic of PlayStation 3, saying Valve is still "up on the idea" of developing for the console - they just need some decent PlayStation 3 coders.

"If you look at The Orange Box -- PC: 96 on Metacritic, 360: 96 on Metacritic, PS3 like... 84 or something. That's not even close to where we are right now with the 360 and PC and the reason is people."

He continued: "we have to get people under our roof who are dedicated, talented PS3 guys and then all bets are off. We can take the same sort of strides and get the quality out of the box and offer the same support post-launch on that platform, as well."

Asking whether or not they're actively looking for PlayStation 3 developers, he said "Valve is always looking to hire people. So yeah, definitely." So if you're a PlayStation 3 coder and want to bring Valve's next game to the console, then give them a ring.

Namco Bandai has released new screenshots of their upcoming PlayStation 3 game, Katamari Forever. The upcoming game comes packed with thirty levels, some new and some from previous games, high-definition video, graphic filters, new gameplay modes and more.

Katamari Forever is set to release in Fall 2009. Check out the screenshots at the gallery.

Last night's returning episode of GameTrailers TV aired and showed off an exclusive gameplay trailer to EA and Visceral's upcoming Dante's Inferno. My, my, is it gorgeous. It really is very inspired by God of War, as you can tell by the video, but at the same time it is a game all it's own.

The video clip speaks for it self. Read on for the trailer.

Several new screenshots have been released today for NIS and HitMaker's upcoming Last Rebellion for PlayStation 3. From the looks of it, the game's cutscenes are like that of games like Disgaea and Cross Edge where you see artwork of the character alongside text. You'll also see Nine and Aisha in an interesting looking battle system. We can only wait to hear how it works.

If you enjoyed the May 2009 cover of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Tecmo has given you yet another treat. They've released the same artwork seen for Ryu on the cover except this time with the game's three playable female characters Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji.

The thing about these images are is that there are three things different in each of them even though they're all using the same background scene. Can you find out what they are? Check out the shots at the gallery.

Codemasters has released some new out-of-game screenshots of their upcoming racing sequel, DiRT 2. Still we've yet to see gameplay shots, but the captures of the moments in these shots are still a nice view. It'd be nice to see some gameplay shots soon, though.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is set to feature twelve hours of gameplay in the game's single-player campaign, creative director Maxime Beland has told OXM.

“I want people to play my games and finish them,” Beland said.

“We’re going to ship with difficulty levels, at least a normal mode and realistic mode - like we did on Rainbow Six Vegas.

“And realistic is going to be really fucking hard - you’re going to need stealth, two bullets is going to kill you, the enemies are going to be super-lethal.”

Seems like a decent gameplay time to me. Splinter Cell: Conviction launches on Xbox 360 and PC this October.

In an interview with Edge, Suda 51, head honcho for No More Heroes, has said that the next No More Heroes game will most likely not be on Wii. In order for the series to flourish, it needs to move to new hardware.

“I really want to make NMH a big franchise,” he said, “and with this second episode have bigger success. I’m putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there’s a lot of potential.

“I think this is the last NMH that is going to be developed on Wii,” he added. “To expand NMH to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now.”

Good news for readers here. No More Heroes was a great game.

That Capcom site with no countdown, but just dates such as 1860, has finally revealed itself. The game is in fact Basara 3 (or Devil Kings 3 in the US). The game is set to launch in 2010, however, Capcom has not announced which systems the game is going to be on, but we're assuming the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, or at least one of them.

As of now, you can take a look at the game's website, featuring just a logo and two silhouettes.

Sega and tri-Ace have released six new screenshots of their upcoming steampunk role-playing game, Resonance of Fate. Due out in Japan this year and in the United States sometime in 2010, the game features a completely original battle system and a setting in a huge construction known as Basel. The new screenshots emphasize the battle system's cinematic style.

There's no doubt that Brutal Legend is one of this year's most anticipated games. It's from Tim Schafer, for goodness sake. A good looking game deserves a good amount of gameplay footage. A new video walkthrough from IGN features over fifteen minutes of direct-feed gameplay footage of Brutal Legend with commentary from Tim Schafer himself.

Just be prepared to create explosions and lightning bolts with your guitar. Read on for the clips.

Twisted Pixel is readying their second Xbox LIVE Arcade release with their first being The Maw, which did pretty good, especially with it being their first game. Their next game, 'Splosion Man, takes a different approach. You play in a side-scrolling world with a guy who can 'splode at will. Nuff' said.

The game's out July 22nd. Check out over forty new screenshots at the gallery.

I can still digress on how great Splinter Cell: Conviction looked when they showed us the first footage during E3 2009. However, today we have some new footage. A new developer diary from the team at Ubisoft on the subject of stealth in the game explains the game's ability to immerse players into an action full scene of fighting, but then jump right back into a stealthy Sam.
