The first footage from director Alfonso Cauron's sci-fi thriller Gravity has been revealed via Entertainment Tonight. The trailer for the movie arrives this Thursday. Gravity hits theaters in 3D, 2D & IMAX 3D this October 4th, Dr. Ryan Stone [Sandra Bullock] is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky [George Clooney] in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone & Kowalsky completely alone--tethered to nothing but each other & spiralling out into the blackness. Welsh actor Luke Evans is 'THE CROW' in Relativity Media's Re-Boot!

Relativity Media's reboot of James O'Barr's The Crow has found its leading man in Welsh actor Luke Evans who was also the original choice of Spanish filmmaker F. Javier Gutierrez. A slew of other actors including James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston, Bradley Cooper, Marc Wahlburg & Alexander Skarsgard were all in the mix. Evans availability was the issue but the production company decided to push back the start of the movie until early 2014 to accommodate the actor who can be seen next in Fast & Furious 6. Evans is best known in Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans in which he played the god Apollo. A year later he was one of The Three Musketeers in Paul W.S. Anderson's reimagining and then he stepped up to play the Greek God Zeus in Tarsem's Immortals. Evans fills the shoes of the late Brandon Lee who helped turn the original 1994 Alex Proyas-directed movie into a major cult hit.

Tom Hiddleston in Early Negotiations to Play 'THE CROW' in Relativity Media's Re-imagining!

Best known as Loki, God of Mischief, in Marvel Studios' Thor british actor Tom Hiddleston may well be donning a new guise in The Crow re-imagining. The Wrap reports that actor is early negotations to play Eric Draven in Relativity Media's reboot of James O' Barr's gothic cult comic character The Crow. Previously turned into a 1994 cult movie starring the late Brandon Lee, the story followed a man who returns from death to attain revenge on those who killed him. O'Barr wrote the original comic to deal with the death of his girlfriend. Spanish director F. Javier Guttierez is set to direct from a script by Cliff Dorfman. Production is slated to start in the fall. Hiddleston pushed for the role over dinner with the producers after doing his own make-up test in London with plans to do full makeup tests before making a final decision.

J.J Abrams Talks 'STAR WARS: EPISODE VII'!

J.J. Abrams recently caught up with ole Empire Magazine & gave up some details on this whole directing Star Wars: Episode VII malarky. The notoriously secretive filmmaker didn't reveal too much, furthering the concept that he & Damon Lindelof never do know where they are going with a storyline other than inserting liberal mystery devices. Abrams: "I don’t know because we’re just getting started. So it’s a great question that I hope I’ll have a good answer to when I know what the answer is. There are infinitely more questions than answers right now, but to me, they’re not that dissimilar. Though I came at these both from very different places, where they both meet is a place of ‘Ooh, that’s really exciting.’ And even though I was never a Star Trek fan, I felt like there was a version of it that would make me excited, that I would think ‘that’s cool, that feels right, I actually would want to see that.How we were going to get there, what the choices were going to be, who was going to be in it – all of those things I knew would have to be figured out, but it was all based on a foundation of this indescribable, guttural passion for something that could be. It’s a similar feeling that I have with Star Wars. I feel like I can identify a hunger for what I would want to see again and that is an incredibly exciting place to begin a project. The movies, the worlds could not be more different but that feeling that there’s something amazing here is the thing that they share."

Abrams reveals his first initial reaction when he was asked to direct Star Wars: Episode VII.

Abrams: "My knee-jerk reaction was that I’m in the middle of working on the Star Trek movie and I can’t even consider it. But then time went by and I got further along working on the movie and getting to a place where I had done most of the heavy lifting. So when I met with Kathy Kennedy we just started discussing it and I was able to actually engage in the conversation. I went down to tell Katie, my wife and I said ‘I had just a very interesting conversation with Kathy.’ That was the beginning."

He then mentions how Steven Spielberg knew everything that was going on all along with the project. [Abrams had turned down Episode VII last year, throwing people off the scent.]

Abrams: "I will say that Steven [Spielberg] was very encouraging of Star Wars. It’s funny because I talked to him about it and it turned out he knew all about what was going on."

This hot fuzz arrives sometime in 2015.

Two New Explosive Posters for James Mangold's 'THE WOLVERINE' Featuring Hugh Jackman!

Two new posters have debuted for James Mangold's The Wolverine. Arriving in 3D & 2D theaters this July 26th, the highly anticipated movie stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima & Brian Tee. Christopher McQuarrie & Mark Bomback are on script duty. The Wolverine is based on Chris Claremont's four-issue mini-series simply titled Wolverine that was drawn by Frank Miller in the 80s which follows Logan, who starts a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. Paramount Pictures has released a new poster & trailer for their upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie picture based on Max Brooks’ novel World War Z. Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Anthony Mackie, Matthew Fox, Julia Levy-Boeken, Bryan Cranston & James Badge Dale all star in the movie which follows the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of survivors as varied as mercenaries, US government officials & impoverished Palestinians. Set 10 years after a global zombie epidemic World War Z follows Max Brooks [Pitt], who driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of thirty million souls to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet. He recorded the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who came face-to-face with the living, or at least the undead, hell of that dreadful time. World War Z arrives this June 21st. New International Poster Arrives for Fede Alvarez's 'EVIL DEAD'!

A new International [Russian] one-sheet for Fede Alvarez's upcoming remake of the classic Sam Raimi horror flick Evil Dead has arrived. The anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. From a screenplay by Alvarez & Rodo Sayagues with Diablo Cody the remake has been rated R for "strong bloody violence and gore, some sexual content and language" ..nice. Evil Dead hits theatres this April 5th. Jane Levy stars as Mia, Shiloh Fernandez as David, Lou Taylor Pucci as Eric, Jessica Lucas as Olivia & Elizabeth Blackmore as Natalie.

James Cameron Gives 'AVATAR' Sequel Update!

James Cameron recently gave up some details on his upcoming sequels Avatar 2 & 3. Play Goes Strong caught up with the 39 year old director & asked him for an update. "I'm working on 'Avatar 2' and 'Avatar 3.' I was talking the other day with Peter Jackson and said, 'You had it easy dude. You had the books when you did the second and third 'Lord of the Rings.' I have to create my own books in my head and extract a script from it. I'm deep into it and I'm living in Pandora right now. There is that start up torque where you feel it's coming to you. Then you build up momentum. That's when it gets fun. The characters talk and it's writing itself. I'm almost there right now. It's building fast when you live in a special world like Pandora, you have to live in that world." Avatar remains the biggest blockbuster of all-time, earning $2.782 billion at the worldwide box office, so does he feel pressure? "Pressure, no. It's a little daunting because sequels are always tricky. You have to be surprising and stay ahead of audience anticipation. At the same time, you have to massage their feet with things that they know and love about the first film. I've walked that line in the past, so I'm not too worried about it. At the same time, I definitely have to deliver the goods." Avatar 2 was originally targeted for a December, 2014 release & Avatar 3 for December, 2015.
