New To the Group

Hello all. My name is Robert. I am from Northern Indiana where the weather sucks at the moment. I recently purchased a 2011 Sea-Doo 210 Wake 310 and I am itching to get it in the water. I am new to boat maintenance as well but I have been doing my research on these Rotax engines. So far, Ive read that I did choose the better deal by not going supercharged due to the extra maintenance. I just purchased everything needed for a my preseason oil change. I will be tackling that this week.

Does anyone have any problematic areas I should keep an eye on for these boats and engines? Any special products that work better than others?

Thank you all in advance and I am happy to be a part of the club.

Speedster 200 -04 4-Tec engine issue

Hi
Just love my Speedster 200 with twin 155hp engines. However, I have a concern which I can not pinpoint. Maybe someone here can help me out.

At harbour, both engines fires right up and runs well (regardless if hot or cold). When I take it out to the ocean and gives some throttle (more than 50%) the right engine sooner or later starts to run rough, as if one cylinder shuts off. If I let go of the throttle and get back to 50%throttle it will still be in this loop of running bad. But if I pull the lanyard and kill the main switch, and switch it back again and restarts, the engine runs perfect until next time I give som throttle. I use Candoo pro, it doesnt throw any error codes.
I had this issue last year and then I also got an engine "red alert". Last winter I pulled the fuel pumps, changed filter and put in fresh gas. The problem still occours but no "red alert".
I have therefore done the following (with no progress):
- switched fuel lines
- switched spark coils
- put in new spark plugs
- Removed the hose for air inlet

With "switched" I mean switched parts between right and left motor to see if the problem follows the part of stays with the right motor. Still no progress.
I consider to do the following later on today:
- switch airbox
- switch fuse block
- switch damper housing or maybe just the air flow meter

Things I consider:
- switch crankshaft sensor
- switch oil pressure sensors
- switch air temp sensors

Anyone had similar problem or have inputs where to continue?

My bilge pump died this year. However when i try to install a new one there is no power to the harness. I replaced the burnt fuse at the switch but the automatic and switch mode does not work. I check the boat side of the harness and there is no power. Is there another fuse closer to the battery. The wire going the fuse attached to the kill switch is the same color as the wire going into the harness but the manual sys there is for the stereo memory. I followed some of the wiring back to see if there was an inline diode but I don't want to tear out all the electrical . Anyone have this problem?

1997 Seadoo Sportster will not start

Hi I am new here and wanted to see if anyone can help. I have a Seadoo Sportster 1997 twine engine version. Both engines started and run with no problem, but now the engines turn but i am not getting a spark at the plugs. I have put new plugs in but no spark. I am thinking there has to be a fuse or something that is the issue but not sure. I took my boat to a local Seadoo dealer who said its water in the fuel. I drained that tank and not one bit of water, and that would not stop a spark at the plug. Therefore lost confidence in the seadoo dealer.

Any help is greatly apricated

1995 Speedster

HI Everyone,

I just picked up a 1995 Speedster in beautiful shape. Both engines have 140-144 compression. Both engines start and idle perfect both on trailer and in water. When in water Port engine will not go over 1500rpm, if I throttle up, it will just die. The starboard engine will reach 6000rpm, but intermittently provides thrust. Changed out rectifiers on both engines. Before I do a carb job all the way around, does anyone have any other thoughts on what I may be experiencing?

Would also add that gas tank drained and cleaned with new fuel, both wear rings and impellers have the correct tolerances, no damage to either impellers and no debris from intake through to jet pump. Grey fuel lines changed out as well.

2006 Sportster 150 215 hp Edition

Hello all - I have noticed at various online parts sites that the 2006 Sportster is listed with Edition 1 and edition 2. How can I determine which edition I have? Is there a serial # separation or some other determining factor? Thanks, Steve
