All Mixed Up In Blue

Blue is something I could never out grow of, especially bikinis:

It's not being fashion safe, it's more of, I feel safe in the color blue. Perhaps the sky is blue and the sea too. :)

I have not changed. No difference in cut preference and color. Still sticking to the basics. But, I will try something new this year, getting out from my solid and basic comfort zone. I will start next month.

I am thinking of giving away my old bikinis. Any takers? LOL! I cannot be bothered of having a lot of bikinis, least not stuff, hanging around. I'm always uncomfortable having so much. I cannot be perfectly frugal and minimal. I have been both for awhile, but this year I am saying it all loud. I still maintain my lifestyle statement, "Afford to lose." Happy New Year Everyone!

Last Month my friend Jenny asked me if I could possibly get her some bikinis. Something that suits her. Jenny is tall, slender, small on top... basically a model-like physique. She can, of course, wear anything considering her body-type. Yet for me, wearing bikinis comes with one's personality. For Jenny, these are my picks. I'm proud to say she likes them. It's just too bad they are not that accessible. :(

From the summer 2011 collection of SiSi. I think it's a Spanish brand or something like that. The batch features a lot, I mean a lot, of designs. But then again, there are those that have caught my attention:

Love the geometrical theme in black and white. Such an all-time classic and elegance.

Now this is something I call check-out-my-boobs-they-are-not-bad-after-all. Lol! It brings attention to the breasts but in another way not just with the size and cup. Don't you think so?

OMG! Just OMG! I know, right?! I have an exceptional obsession on blue bikinis. I have mostly blue bikinis that my boyfriend thinks that I should venture into other colors. He doesn't want to make that impression that I am wearing the same bikinis all the time. It seems like it, for sure. Who cares?! Blue loves me. I am not named Cielo for no reason at all, right? The sky is blue. I am blue. Point is, would he really be kind enough to get this one for me. This is on sale at $10. Like c'mon! It's not like it's plain blue. Right? If only I am in Oz right now. :(

Floral Monokinis or Aprons?

I am sorry. I am just not a big fan of monokinis. Perhaps it does not flatter my figure. Honestly, I never have worn one. It's a bit rude to call these aprons. They are a darling for some people who love monokinis. I just could not imagine myself in these. Well, coming to think of it. Flowers are the new black these days. I think I will fit in, just so if I consider wearing them:

I really find it weird today. While I am hunting for pretty bikinis on cyberspace, I cannot help but associate such styles with songs. These Mara Hoffman bikinis... sounds like Prodigy mashed up with Sex Pistols and Criss Cross. Is that really weird?

Back in the days when the idea was to match the top with the bottom, it was really hard for me. It is still hard at the moment, considering I have a medium top and an x-small bottom, or depending on the brand, but it has always been that ratio. I felt so awkward before not to be able to have that perfect pair, or yet wearing a mismatched bikinis. Eventually, I start to love it. I definitely love flaunting my mix and match bikini style these days.

Bikinis got extra life now

I am simple when it comes to bikinis: Triangle. Solid colors preferably in the shade of blue. Most importantly 80% Polymide 20% Nylon, just basically the 80-20 composition because some have different material description like Spandex, Elastam, Lycra, etc. I am not buying anything below or more than that composition, even if such bikinis are to die for. I rather die than settle for less.

Why do I prefer this composition? I have the impression that 80-20 bikinis last longer. 'can definitely stand the sands. Hmmnn more likely that's it. But recently, a new technology is pioneered to give bikinis a longer and better longevity.

Introducing Xtra Life LYCRA. Yey to me again, since I am starting to like the pool! One of the reasons pool scares me is the chlorine. It might really damage my bikinis. This is changed now! Xtra Life LYCRA make bikinis resist chlorine 5-6 times more than before. It definitely retains the dignity of the material. That, and maintaining those female curves. Oh yeah, they give quiet the better flatter too!

It is indeed the new black. I believe it is the new basic requirement for bikini manufacturers.

Betsey Johnson has always been a personal favorite growing up. I love her designs because they are really fun. Thing is, I don't really know if I have the courage to wear them.
