We had a great group of divers on Sponge Bob on Sunday – waiting for those promised photos and videos from folks who were with us!

Halkett wall was amazing – so much life!!  And in the shallow water doing our safety stops, it was like an aquarium.

Victoria Day Weekend (May 18, 19, 20)  
Nanaimo is now wide open!  (Group had to cancel).  Plan a trip for the long weekend to the Island!

Announcing the newest member of the Sea Dragon team –Captain Steve Davis!

Steve is flying solo with Mike at his side this Sunday April 21 on the Topline out of Horseshoe Bay!  Why don’t you all come out on Sunday to dive on this memorable occasion with Captain Steve!   (Better known as Red Green because of his port and starboard drysuit!).

Jan & Kevin will be attending the Tacoma Dive & Travel Expo so won’t be on the boat this weekend.  If you are coming to the Tacoma show (April 20 & 21), come and see us at our booth!  Booth # 222 – that’s easy to remember!

Due to overwhelming response!  We have now added a second “Sponge Bob” dive for Saturday March 23!  Sunday March 24 for Sponge Bob is now full!

“Sponge Bob” (aka Halkett Pinnacle) is a fantastic dive for skilled advanced divers as the dive includes open water decent onto a pinnacle within an area of high current and boat traffic.

The pinnacle top is at about 75 feet and drops down from there. The site has amazing sponge coverage and requires divers to have excellent buoyancy skills in order to maintain this pristine natural site. As long as weather conditions are good, the tides look favorable for being able to do this dive comfortably this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Definitely a great dive, and well worth repeating even if you have been fortunate enough to dive it already.  Please make sure you have along a personal surface marker for your safety stop and assent as you will be coming up in open water.

Sunday, March 31st – Easter Egg HUNT dive!

For divers who like a bit of change and a friendly “challenge”, come out on Easter Sunday to search underwater for one of many strategically placed “Easter eggs”.  Exchange your egg on the boat for prizes (toques, hats, t-shirts, etc.), or find the one GRAND PRIZE “EGG” and win a certificate for a day of diving from Seadragon Charters (valid on Topline in Howe Sound or on the Seadragon in Nanaimo).

There will be candies and treats and plentiful “runner-up” prizes (something for every diver), so come on out and enjoy the festivities. It’ll bound to be a great day.

Note that no “eggs” will be hidden deeper than 60 feet and none will require any removing or lifting of items underwater. You only need a dive-light  decent navigation skills and a keen eye for success doing this fun “hunt”.

Open to divers of all skill and experience levels.

We had the pleasure of hosting a group of technical divers recently on Topline.

The Topline was involved in transporting divers, photographers, film crews, and media from Diver Magazine and the Vancouver Sun to a special site in Howe Sound that is covered in glass sponge.

Divers went over 210 feet of depth to the top of an amazing cloud sponge bioherm. (Like Sponge Bob on steroids!). Glen Denison also brought his boat out with more divers.
