Peak season caravan savings

July 8, 2009 - Irish Ferries isn’t just offering substantial savings for car drivers this summer - the special deals also apply for holidaymakers taking their own motorhome or caravan across to Ireland. And with around 100 sites now available across the country, there are great opportunities for a relaxing, stay-put break or enjoying the country’s beaches, spectacular scenery and historical sights in a tailor-made tour.

For bookings made 14 days in advance of travel, Irish Ferries is offering one-way fares for a motorhome and driver for as little as £104 for midweek crossings, with additional adults paying £20 and free places for all children.

For car and caravan combinations, prices vary according to length and height but again, kids travel free all summer. As an example, a one-way, daytime cruise ferry crossing for a car and driver plus caravan under 2.4m high is from £139 with additional adults at £20 each.

Based on overnight campsite fees of £22, a family of four can enjoy a week’s stay in Ireland with their caravan for as little as £500 with return ferry crossing.

SeaFrance ad campaign homes in on space, comfort and style

June 20, 2009 - A new advertising campaign by SeaFrance is baded on customer feedback about its unique selling points - space, comfort and style. The campaign, by award-winning agency STEEL, is running in strategic outdoor locations, key print and online media, as well as via direct marketing and email.

As a basis for this new campaign, SeaFrance conducted focus groups among ferry users to see how the brand is perceived and why they would choose to cross the Channel with SeaFrance. As a result, the themes of space, comfort and style were incorporated into the campaign visuals to demonstrate the quality of the SeaFrance onboard product.

All tourism customers are now carried on SeaFrance's three superferries, meaning that customers are guaranteed the high-end, value travel experience promised by the campaign. SeaFrance is confident that highlighting this quality onboard experience alongside its attractive pricing will convince passengers that there really is no better way to get to France and increase bookings over the summer and into 2010.

Janet Saville, SeaFrance head of marketing, commented: "We're very pleased with the campaign, which showcases everything that SeaFrance has to offer over its competitors. The product lends itself to beautiful photography, and I'm confident that the advertising will hold a strong appeal to potential customers."

SeaFrance operates up to 15 daily return crossings on the Dover-Calais route. Fares for a car and up to five passengers start from just £29 each way online for any duration and from £29 return for a day trip.
